This is a really, really cool mod that makes the whole experience feel that much more real and sci-fi like. I still miss the original soundtrack though and will be disabling this mod from here onward (On A Rail). But still, super cool idea and designed with care in each scene.

@Jejegame19, Oooh! Alright, awesome ^^
Thank you for answering.

You need to type "snd_restart" when you launch Black Mesa. When it's done, you can play the chapter that you want with the new music. You don't have to do it each time you enter a new one, it's just each time you launch your Black Mesa with steam.
T'erissk 22 May, 2020 @ 10:54pm
Do I need to snd_restart at the beginning of each level if I started from a previous one? Or do I need to do it each time I enter a new chapter?
T'erissk 13 May, 2020 @ 2:47am
@Jejgame19, Awesome! Looking forward to it =)

@Shoutmon-Grei, I'm glad it works for you ! You shouldn't have this kind of problem anymore. Update 3 with the chapter "Surface Tension" is coming very soon !
T'erissk 12 May, 2020 @ 9:20pm
Most excellent! The music played perfectly in the start of the game, as well as in the surface battle of "We've got hostiles!", it seems to all be working so far. =)

@1v4n94, Yeah you're right, I added a line at the end of the descritption for the copyright. Now the mod is safe from the report by the company. For the albums, I cannot do this because the original composers for ALIEN and ALIENS are dead and 20th Century Fox don't sell CD's, so I cannot promote their musics unfortunately... It just makes a promotion for the website where you buy them...
1v4n94 12 May, 2020 @ 8:27am
You could even link all the albums used so people can buy them. I mean, they shouldn't do anything to you if you promote their music.
1v4n94 12 May, 2020 @ 8:24am
If credits are given where credits are due, there shouldn't be an issue in my opinion. I'm speaking of course about the copyright thing.
jejegame19  [author] 12 May, 2020 @ 8:04am
@HECUsoldier, Thanks, I appreciate that you love my work. Well, to answer your question, technically I respect the copyright of the 20th Century Fox. Here's why : first, I bought the movies, the CD's and the tracks that I used are strongly modified for the game. They are cut and mix together so it's not just a copy of the soundtrack. And on the top of that, It's a mod that I post for free, I'm not getting any money for that, it's just for entertaining. So I don't risk anything.

The mod is working fine for you ? You can hear all the musics in-game ?
H.E.C.U soldier 12 May, 2020 @ 7:29am
Love it but is it even legal? I mean, what about copyright issues? If someone reports your addon it might probably be taken out though I really wish you that it won't be.

Thanks for commenting by the way. It's always nice to have feedback about your creation :)
T'erissk 12 May, 2020 @ 2:46am
@Jejegame19, Yes thats what I meant -the music at the start of the video, I couldn't hear it at all. Don't think it was playing.

That version of Ripley's Rescue when you assault the rocket launch pad REALLY fits the situation, awesome choice ^_^

the idea of making this soundtrack come from the fact that i love both the saga and the game. I think that ALIEN and more particularly ALIENS is a big inspiration for the atmosphere and the design of the monsters (the corridors, the alarms, the facehuggers, the acid spitting...) but for me the original soundtrack of the game ruined it. The musics are good, but definitely not the style of the saga so I made this mod to correct this.

For the issues in the chapter "We've got hostiles", I take a look this afternoon. The music volume is one of the most difficult thing to do because some of the tracks are directly taken from the movies, so I have to take some time for each tracks to cut and mix the audio and test it in-game. Make sure that the volume is set to the max. For the intro of Black Mesa and the tram ride, you mean the music that i show in the video ?
T'erissk 11 May, 2020 @ 11:27pm
Yeah "We've got hostiles" won't play. And the music you hear on the Intro of Black Mesa and the tram ride won't play either.
T'erissk 11 May, 2020 @ 10:48pm
The music is kind of too low or non-existant. When I go to the surface in "We've Got Hostiles!", I didn't hear anything playing.

HOwever when you reach the scientist that speaks about "Containment", music plays.
1v4n94 11 May, 2020 @ 10:39pm
I love how it provokes curiosity and adrenaline at the same time.
1v4n94 11 May, 2020 @ 10:39pm
Nice idea. I always liked Alien. The music is very fitting, IMO. More horror-based, for sure, but it's great to develop tension and be aware of the surroundings Black Mesa has to offer. The Black Mesa OST is good, but feels repetitive most of the times when in Xen. This will change that, and will add a new experience to the gameplay.

This is worth saving in FAVOURITES. Thanks for sharing!!! :lunar2019coolpig:

I'll give this mod a whilr! I love the move saga's music.
