How does one create their own subsystems? I'd like to know how to modify so I can mess around better in singleplayer. If there's some kind of resource I'm not finding that you may know about then I'm willing to learn.

damn could have sworn this was the mod. (had a module in my ship that gave me +3000% cargo capacity.) and it vanished from my ship in an upgrade. but this has no cargo things.

Found another small bug - the Void Shield says "extremely fast to recharge" however it is actually way slower to recharge (the shield recharge rate needs to be negative it seems) - or the flavor text is wrong.

I think some bonuses are a bit lackluster in comparison to vanilla systems when factoring in power usage.

E.g. the "Void Shield generator" in exotic form has like +250% for shield durability and +120% for shield recharge rate for a energy cost of 40 GW.

A vanilla Exceptional Shield booster I have has ~ +100% shield durability and ~ +20% shield recharge rate for 800 MW (so for 1/40 of the energy cost vs the void shield generator) when installed permanently (like the void shield has to be) - in terms of energy efficiency the vanilla exceptional shield booster is far better by quite a margin.

Opinion in general on the upgrades:
- these upgrades should not be buyable at all
- stronger somewhat, either by boosting their bonuses or by lowering the energy requirements
- the different rarity tiers could have bigger differences, e.g. an exotic and a rare void shield I have in my inventory are within 10-20% of each other.

I am currently with current game update/version. Yesterday, I installed permanently the Orange Zero Tau Power Sump and it had no effect. Attempted several times. Non functional. The Mod says its up-to-date to current version too. A Blue Void Shield seems to work fine though.

i'll be keeping a very close eye on this one :) good work and hope you manage do do the special boos type stuff to be able to get the upgrades, i'm hesitant to use thir right now because it isn't like that already :p :) best of luck!!

also, is/will this be save compatible?
like, will it be able to be installed onto a game/server mid-game so to say without problems?
i'm pretty sure it can as it is now but i imagine when/if you implement the features talked about in the comments then it will require a new game possibly, at least depending on how you put the code and functions together

hopefully it will be a " hard to beat " encounter ^^. Those upgrades should be earned not gifted. The fight itself should also be a reward in itself being a pleasant yet difficult experience. I am very glad that you like my idea and I also will be waiting for that mod ^^

those ancient sectors should only appear once within an area of 100x100 sectors and essentially work like the wormholle guardian. Once the ancient in that sector is defeated it will respawn in 2h ( or what ever respawn time you want). Also It might be nice to create a system upgrade which is the only one that is able to detect an ancient sector when installed.

Hey there SDK, I have thought about following changes to this mod. All system upgrades that are added by this mod should only be lootable items and not buyable in equipment docks. There should also be some type of ancients ( boss / champion like npcs) that are hard to beat and can drop these artifacts or also wreckages of ancient ships that would contain said upgrades. Now some player might not like this type of mechanic, but it adds more fun and diversity to exploring hidden mass sectors ( I say hidden mass because they should appear only in hidden mass sectors). A solution could be to create another version of this mod with said changes. Oh and it would be even better if you could add a new type of sector with its own purple coloured bleep on galaxy map(ancient sector? you can pick a different name for it)
