Managed to do it, also shared the mod for everyone else https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2958923836
Thanks for the Help friend
Not to this mod.
It's very easy to add yourself though.
Go to where Steam is installed (or where the game is it's on a separate drive) and navigate to the workshop folder for Old track. "*/steamapps/workshop/content/1066780/1983390040/res/config/track/"
in this folder will be 2 .lua files. Copy whichever you want.
Then open it/them up and find the line "t.speedLimit = 80.0 / 3.6" and change the the 80 to 999. Save and launch the game.
Now it'd be best to copy the mod folder [and add a _1 to the folder name] to your local mods folder. Then enable the local version.
This way Steam won't remove your changes.
There is a alternative however; https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2455435431
It's part of much larger project that has become more tedious than originally planned.
This has coincided with a significant decrease in free time.
You can pull the no cat version from either the main or vanilla no cat mod versions.
Also you can of course do it yourself by changing the "catenaryPoleModel", "catenaryMultiPoleModel", "catenaryMultiGirderModel", and "catenaryMultiInnerPoleModel" entries to "empty.mdl".
Soon tm. IRL and stuff.
And then your little brother secretly downloads and enables this mod on all your savegames.
IRL getting in the way is all.
UG is adding support for custom tracks with the June patch.
Given that, I see little point in adding C-API2 support.
If you can't wait and/or really don't want to update to testing branch. Ping me on Discord.
Fixed: Sleepers at junctions too big.
