Forge Unlimited Bloodlines + Bloodline fix

As of the date of this post both sub-mods still work and are save game compatible.

Forge Unlimited Bloodlines Description:

"This mod allows you to forge a new Bloodline, even if you alreday own a 'creadted bloodline', as long as you are not already the founder of a bloodline."

None of the requirements change, it was a very limited mod.

Does this work with hip?
Balthasar Gelt 16 Jan, 2024 @ 8:45am
so does this work with more historical bloodlines?
OP Cheater 23 Dec, 2023 @ 12:55pm
Hello, Is there way to add more prestige for each forged bloodline?
Comiclove 12 Aug, 2023 @ 2:33pm
Bit late, but if you google 'forge unlimited bloodlines', you can find it...rehosted on a certain website. Not gonna link or even name it, but you can put the pieces together if you wanna find the original description.
Domaldel 18 Apr, 2023 @ 9:17am
The original "forge unlimited bloodlines" is gone from steam, so I'd love to see a description of what it does?
Waruiko 15 Oct, 2022 @ 5:07pm
I'm not getting the Forge a Bloodline ambition to spawn even though I'm an independent genius king who has not forged a bloodline before. I do have the immortal and the made Isriel bloodlines but one wouldn't change anything vanilla and the mod SHOULD deal with the other...

@The Worst, thanks for lettng me known, i am curently playing it

Hello! Is this mod still working? I cant see it in the loader menu. Thank you
Fjarun  [author] 26 Apr, 2021 @ 11:14am
Yeah overall unless you're running a very heavily modded game (or just one that gives the AI a lot of free resources) its unlikely they'll be pulling out plural bloodlines.

Maybe over a full game from 769 to end date they'd manage to get a few on one or two families if one survives that long.

Realistically though, you'll almost certainly be fine regardless.
coin 25 Apr, 2021 @ 11:10am
Thanks mate
Fjarun  [author] 24 Apr, 2021 @ 11:41am
Its quite difficult to tell, honestly. I would have suggested checking the mods this one is made from and their descriptions, but at least one of them is gone.

with that said, its very rare the AI actually forges a bloodline, nevermind plural. Even if it does the effect would be fairly small, and you could always kill of an AI bloodline yourself is one turned out to be very successful somehow despite the odds.
coin 24 Apr, 2021 @ 10:01am
does this affect the ai too?
bestfriendj0 31 Mar, 2021 @ 8:30am
It gets a bit odd since like you said, it tracks the number of holdings I've built and people I've killed and so on, so I'm starting the ambition with more than enough murders to get a murderous bloodline, but the event doesn't seem to be firing until after I kill another person.

That's why I was thinking, if a mod made a copy of my character; name, portrait, and dynasty, so long as the character IDs are different, and set them to be the bloodline creator, it should work while looking nice.

Not sure how to post pictures here, but I could take some to show you what I mean if you like.

I've been playing a bit with Mythos 3.5 and very long lived characters, I've managed to take the ambition multiple times with the same character and get around that bug by editing the save file to make my character's father the bloodline creator instead of my character.

It looks a bit odd bc the creator himself doesn't have the bloodline, but my character and kids all still get it normally. Otherwise the game just treats it as though a previous dynasty member made the same bloodline.

Fjarun  [author] 31 Mar, 2021 @ 4:15am
I did actually attempt to add it but the bloodline would automatically complete on being re-taken by the same character as the game seems to continue tracking the bloodline progress variables (in flags, I think) post-completion, which means you've already fulfilled the goal when you start it again.

Unfortunately messing with progress flags or re-directing things to work despite them is both beyond my level with CK2 currently and outside the scope of this mod.

The mod itself is simply a fusion of two files made by other people to make them work with each other, as they would always be overwriting each other previously. Although at least one of the originals is now dead to my knowledge.
bestfriendj0 30 Mar, 2021 @ 6:38pm
Heya, I read through the thread, was a bit disappointed this doesn't let one character create a bunch of bloodlines since that's what I was hoping for. I wanted to ask if you were ever considering adding that as a feature or making a separate mod for that? I think you might be able to get it to work if you have the game create a copy of your character and set them to be the bloodline creator while leaving your character as a bloodline member. If I knew how to make anything I'd probably try myself, but all I know how to do is look through the files and edit saves.

It wouldn't reset the progress towards the bloodlines, but it would stop the ambition from wigging out on you. So theoretically you could use that to get all the forge-able bloodlines.
Fjarun  [author] 15 Jan, 2021 @ 2:12pm
I could try but I don't have any of the AGOT files. Without them its kinda hard to change anything afterall.

I only had these ones because I personally used the mods and decided I should fix them as it wouldn't be that hard. If you have the working Agot mod files and can somehow get it to me I can try to fix it.
Putti I 15 Jan, 2021 @ 10:32am
Hi again. Dosnt seem to work with agot. Could i ask you update the Agot Forge bloodline from also Nilrem? That mod is dead. plz ^^
Fjarun  [author] 7 Jan, 2021 @ 3:27am
With that said: obviously moving changes into another file can be problematic depending on the mod you're working from.

If ATE FF is like a "Vanilla gameplay enhanced" style mod, then it should be fairly implementable unless they explicitly fully rework the bloodlines file.

If the mod is more like say, a complete overhaul - i.e the types of mod that make the game Warhammer based, or Game of Thrones, ETC - they likely entirely replace all of the original bloodline files, so copying the changes over becomes more likely to not work as the bit you'd change simply doesn't exist.
Fjarun  [author] 7 Jan, 2021 @ 3:23am
If I remember correctly the actual code changes in this mod are quite small - hence why it was a simple process to combine both of the original mods into this package originally.

If you open up the mod itself, there are only 3(?) text files that have edits, and the edits are quite limited in scope. If you can compare those files to the vanilla game versions of the same files, you'd be able to isolate the changes.

When you've done that, you could always copy the change code directly into the relevant files for the mod you want to make compatible. - If you do so, you'd then be able to unsub from this as the other mod would have the contents of this one.
Lefmell 7 Jan, 2021 @ 3:00am
Hello again, I was wondering if ATE FF is compatible with your mod. I dont think it is at the moment, would you know of a way to fix it in the code? I think there are some conflicting elements. I created a bloodline with a previous character and wanted to create a new bloodline with my new character. I could select the ambition to create a bloodline with my new character just fine. However now that I've completed the requirements, the event to obtain the bloodline does not fire. I would really appericiate if you could offer me some advice on how to deal with this issue! :)
Fjarun  [author] 1 Jan, 2021 @ 8:16pm
I do not know unfortunately, never used Agot. If it edits bloodlines core files there's a good chance they'll conflict and try to overwrite each other.

You'd have to try it to be sure though, I've never gotten anyone saying for sure if it works or does not work with Agot in comments.
Putti I 1 Jan, 2021 @ 11:21am
Does this work with Agot?
Fjarun  [author] 26 Dec, 2020 @ 8:57pm
Notably the file name should just be "forge unlimited bloodlines + bloodline fix, zip" - if your file name was precisely what you listed then something replaced the download - though I assume that was just you listing the filepath for whatever reason.

Maybe check your browser add ons / extensions for anything you don't remember being there to be safe, but the file at the destination *seems* to be clean when I check it.
Fjarun  [author] 26 Dec, 2020 @ 8:55pm
Malwarebytes scan of both packed .zip and unpacked comes back clean.
Additionally, Google Drive itself seems to pop up with a "scanning for viruses" when you select hit download on something.

Ran custom scan on the directory of the above with Defender as well, still clean.
Soo... either it was extremely temporarily replaced by a malicious version and then swapped within the 20 minute delay it took me to see the comment... Or something might be up @ your end my dude.

Or of course the option where I'm Lying - but it'd be a bit odd for me to use mods to distribute viruses and only have one comment about it across 50+ mod pages.
Fjarun  [author] 26 Dec, 2020 @ 8:49pm
Curious; looking into it now to see if the file has somehow been hijacked on google drive - it could also just be a false positive though as the mod files have been unchanged for quite a while.
RedSaintNino 26 Dec, 2020 @ 8:31pm
I used the chrome shortcut to download! file: C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\forge unlimited bloodlines + bloodline fix.zip

God damn mod gave me a virus! Not sure how this happened. Windows Defender said it was a Trojan.

Fjarun  [author] 7 Oct, 2020 @ 8:36am
Yes I believe Forge unlimited has been down for a while which is curious because as far as I'm aware the mod still functions perfectly fine on the latest version, and most mod authors only take stuff down if its broken and they can't fix it for whatever reason (complications, no time etc)

Regardless I have no control over it, nor Nilrem so I can't really do anything about either, at least I can keep the name in the description so people are aware of the original author, even if he has potentially retired from modding or the like.
Imperator of Rome 7 Oct, 2020 @ 8:26am
Looks like the link to Forge Unlimited Bloodlines is dead. And, Nilrem's profile is private.
Fjarun  [author] 21 Sep, 2020 @ 2:39pm
Not familiar with the mod, but this mod itself is effectively two other mods smashed together that edit the same file

if "More bloodlines" does not edit the same files, it should be fine.

If for example it added more bloodlines purely to the forge bloodline ambition... My guess is that should be fine? As long as the ambition isn't adjusted itself.
Turtle-Gal 21 Sep, 2020 @ 1:24pm
@Angel it is, at least as far as I've seen
Angel 21 Sep, 2020 @ 12:44pm
any idea if this would be compatable with "more bloodlines" ?
Fjarun  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 7:25pm
I remember someone commented it worked fine with HIP, so if AGOT functions similarly to that mod you might be in the clear.
Fjarun  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 7:24pm
Never used it. So can't speak from experience. is AGOT a total overhaul of literally everything or does it mostly leave bloodline stuff alone for example?

If it leaves bloodline files alone then yes it would work with it. If it edits them then no unfortunately.
Tman004 12 Aug, 2020 @ 6:53pm
Does it Work With Agot?
Fjarun  [author] 7 Aug, 2020 @ 7:05pm
Ah, I haven't played CK2 for a while so I hadn't really been playing the browse-the-workshop minigame much either. That is unfortunate.

By all means go for your mod though, modding is a user-driven activity so even if both this and the version of yours featuring this are asked to be removed, at least we helped people get them working together in the mean time.
Turtle-Gal 7 Aug, 2020 @ 6:05pm
@Fjarunsigr one of the mods doesn't even exist anymore, so I think it's ok.
Fjarun  [author] 7 Aug, 2020 @ 5:43pm
As far as my permission goes sure.
I'm still not sure about the status of this mod with the original authors of both, but I'm assuming fine given no issues thus far.
Turtle-Gal 7 Aug, 2020 @ 1:20pm
@Fjarunsigr can I include this in my mod?
Fjarun  [author] 28 Jul, 2020 @ 8:09am
Somehow I got unsubscribed from comments on this mod... despite setting all my mods to notify me individually on release. So sorry about the delay in response, but literally was not aware of the comment until now.

If that save isn't an ironmeme I would assume so? In case of ironman I would think as it somewhat changes gameplay you'd be out of luck.
Tamomomma 15 Jul, 2020 @ 3:43pm
Can you use this mid-save?
Professor J. Chiwa 9 Jul, 2020 @ 11:02am
ah well, thanks for taking the time to respond :)
Fjarun  [author] 8 Jul, 2020 @ 2:03pm
Cannot say I've explicitly tested it but I would guess no.
More bloodlines per character = definitely makes the game easier and adjusts non-cosmetic files to do it.
Professor J. Chiwa 8 Jul, 2020 @ 1:12pm
hey buddy, is this mod ironman compatible?
Fjarun  [author] 29 Jun, 2020 @ 4:25pm
Well that's good news. Thanks for effectively testing that for me.
Popdartan 20 Jun, 2020 @ 6:49am
Works fine with HIP
Voron 13 Jun, 2020 @ 3:39pm
I see, thank you!
