Now this mod only downloads 2 files: no_more_district.modinfo and no_more_district.sql. Each is only 3KB in size, so it seems like this mod has been gutted?

Anyone else unable to get this mod to work after installing it again? Even after I enable it with the Mod Menu, it has no effect on the game -all the districts are still there.

@Comrade Noot Sickk man i'll try it out. Hoping to get canals too at some point. And yeah i can see harbors might look kind of dumb but functionally they add another possibility for spawning ships to cities that otherwise couldn't.
Comrade Noot 28 Jan, 2022 @ 5:22pm
@Generic White Guy So I got into modding recently and I agree with you certain districts need to be placeable. I actually commented the same thing in this thread a ways back. ANYWAY I modded the mod so now you can place Encampments, Aerodromes, Aqueducts, Spaceports, and Neighborhoods as well as their unique versions. As for Harbors IDK man, if there was a way to force them to be adjacent to another district I'd do it. Docks attached to empty ground always looked super weird to me. Of course I always attach mine, but the AI doesn't. I'll upload it later after I've play tested it.

Anyway this is PERFECT and saved me from switching, and I think the balance is fine as long as all civs are affected, but BRUH at least add the option to keep canals, aquaducts, shit like that which have natural location-based functionality that isn't forced in by the devs. Also think the encampment and harbor might be good too since they serve as a defense point and unit spawn point. Basically anything that has actual positional purpose besides just "+1 numbers cuz you placed this thing next to that thing" you should add the option to leave in IMO. Just take out them stupid district to district adjacency bonuses, although I have another mod for that anyway.

Bruh I LOVE this mod, THANK YOU i hate having to do several minutes of solitarily solving math puzzles every time i place a district in the base game just to not get reduced yields out of my cities. SO DUMB. It just takes away time and focus from the actual fun and point of the game, the civilization management, diplomacy, war, trade, ETC. Like why they tryin to shoe horn a city-builder tycoon game into this?? I was like man, this would be so much better without this stupid adjacency minigame shit, and then I see the civ games before this didnt have districts and I was like WTF i should just play civ 5 instead.
metronome 2 Jan, 2022 @ 12:03am
Yep, the Grove is still non-functional. But, it's very fun to play, even if it's hard to figure out which adjacency/district related bonuses will apply to the cities! Thank you.

This. This is what I've been searching for since they added districts and all I'll say is I. Hate. Districts!
They have been a thorn in my side from the start and I liked most of the stuff they added (expendable workers are annoying but not the end of the world), but it have been this one feature that has hampered my enjoyment of the game. From removing the tile bonuses in district/wonder construction, to limiting what you can build because you don't either have district or the land build anymore structures. Mod creators a few years ago told me that such a mod would need the source code to do it, so I gave up & left the game, until today.
I understand some people like districts and I respect that, but for me, it's just too limiting. I'm also seeing comments about a bug or 2, so I hope they get resolved soon, but the fact that this mod exists at all is nothing short of a godsend. Here, take my Reddit gold Steam award and continue making this mod the best it can be.

It is incompatible with the golden age BNW mod. If it is opened at the same time, it will prompt that it is incompatible and cannot enter the game. It needs to be repaired
Endergod 4 Apr, 2021 @ 8:20am
the grove isn't working properly, can you fix it?
DjinnOfTheWest 25 Mar, 2021 @ 11:48pm
I love this mod. It plays well with my other mods and makes the game feel fresh again. I would like it again if I could. You guys did a great job.
god of being bad at everything 23 Mar, 2021 @ 5:26am
plus theyre quite satisfying to see get adjacency when you change your view to empire mode

wipeout up to you districts are amazing to plan
Wipeout 3 Dec, 2020 @ 1:18pm
This is exactly what I've been looking for (controversial opinion coming) I hate districts! Before discovering this I was contemplating going back to Civ V...
KateBishop 1 Dec, 2020 @ 9:17am
The only I'd suggest is to adjust it so that you can still build neighborhoods. I loved the mod. Makes for a less stressful game play.
The_Hoff779 2 Nov, 2020 @ 5:39pm
I'm wondering what this mod would be like if it was mixed with the "City Lights" mod...

Oh, and is it possible to add Canals back?
Comrade Noot 24 May, 2020 @ 8:22pm
I'm really liking this mod. One thing though it'd be awesome to be able to build aqueducts.

Thanks for the feedback. I pushed v1.2, Religion is back. City Centers act as Holy Sites.
Comrade Noot 22 May, 2020 @ 9:10pm
Maybe just allow holy sites to be built to fix religion issue and disable great people types that usually need a district, like great scientist, merchant, artist, musician.
Icelord 20 May, 2020 @ 2:52pm
just an idea for the great prophet thing can you put the bonus from Stonehedge on the citycenter or a building there like the temple or something

otherwise maybe just make it so Stonehedge is not limited to 1 person and remove any req it has so anyone can make it and put it anywhere

just ideas no idea how you would do anything like that anything past editing already made simple mods is past my skill level

and after trying the stuff you did last night with the Dams and great people it seems very good now
Icelord 19 May, 2020 @ 1:47pm
very nice job will go try it out now
Luke ✞ Jesus Saves ✞  [author] 19 May, 2020 @ 8:55am
Thanks for the feedback. I pushed the v1.1 version. You should be able to build Dam, activate Great Person in City Center (except Great Prophet cannot be recruited still, I cannot get them to activate on City Center). Spies can now have most operations on City Center as well.
Icelord 19 May, 2020 @ 7:18am
been playing a while and i think the things that are the biggest problems i have had are the great persons and the lack of dams

right now in my game i have like 10 great people standing around my capital just used the sleep thing on them for the hope of when you fix it

the dams is just annoying since i keep having to rebuild like 5 farms and i have a place in a flood plain i want to put a city but cant right now
ConnieOfTheWolves 18 May, 2020 @ 11:26am
How does this affect Japan, or does it not?
Legodudelol9a 16 May, 2020 @ 1:41pm
How does this interact with mods that add buildings "Moar buildings" for example.
emperor_ike 16 May, 2020 @ 9:00am
well that pretty cleanly solves pillaging breaking districts for the rest of the game, dunnit
Stahlseele 16 May, 2020 @ 6:31am
Ah, unsubscribing and resubscribing fixed it.
Stahlseele 16 May, 2020 @ 6:19am
Hmm, i did not have to enable it and i could not find it in the in game mod list to disable it either.
It just gave me temple and library in my capital city center directly.
Luke ✞ Jesus Saves ✞  [author] 16 May, 2020 @ 5:46am
That doesn't seem right. Pretty sure you have to enable it in the Mod menu and can disable it (I've played normal game with the mod still installed but disabled).
Stahlseele 16 May, 2020 @ 5:36am
Hmm, It is immediately active when subscribing to the mod it seems?
No way of enabling / disabling it in the games menue for additional content like other mods?
Is this intended behaviour?
Luke ✞ Jesus Saves ✞  [author] 14 May, 2020 @ 8:41pm
Thanks, glad you enjoy it. While I agree District is the best thing Civ 6 added, playing with alternatives like this is still fun sometimes.
Icelord 14 May, 2020 @ 3:26pm
sounds great I had been looking for a CIV 5.5 type thing that was like this but still had a few of the districts like the harbor and maybe the 1 or 2 others but this is still the next best thing
