Haven't read Blind Man's Bluff, but it has been recommended to me; Dark Waters was fascinating, though.

I've been meaning to get back into this; too many other things have gotten in the way and taken my focus. The SS-24 is 95% complete; a pre-wiring Gato is waiting (~30%); a relatively draft layout of the Nautilus (nuclear) is next (~15%); then I had other cold war era spy subs in mind -- Halibut was chief among those, bat cave and all. My hope is that the base wiring/features/layout for Nautilus is going to make the next few more iterative than new builds due to so much similar layout and capability. We'll see.

brilliant mods, truly impressive stuff. I hope you make the Halibut, maybe I'm biased, but that sub holds a special place in my heart. Have you read the book blind man's bluff?

Preview for the SS-24; https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2225053949 this was a few weeks ago; more details will be added.

Thanks; i'm at version 0.39 for the SS-24/ E-1; much of the structural work/aesthetics is done; concept for mechanics is fairly solid -- unfortunately I ran into a bug with batteries that is acting as an obstacle both literally and creatively. I'll power through, though; maybe another week or two. Definitely ended up more complicated and detailed than I started with originally, but it is going to be a wildly intricate sub for teams to operate.

Best custom subs ever, looking forward on your upcoming creations.

Agree. The Europa exploration operation would be carried out by USSF.
Actually I was just curious why USSF was assigned to USAF. I was expecting USSF to be included in the USN.

Well.... 1) needed some kind of tag to identify the ships having some similarity (design philosophy is a little different than most so I want people know what they're stepping into; 2) almost entirely USN ships, but labeling as "USS" is being done by others making pseudo-replicas -- USSF not so much, so it is more unique and suitable as a tag in the workshop; so really that's the core reasoning; 3) the 'lore' idea of this being USSF vessels exploring Europa is more of a satirical joke to me in my mind as you can maybe see in my lore description; but for reals: the USSF is a separate branch (but included in the USAF) like the Marines in the USN. I guess if we need militarized submarines exploring space, an argument can be made for the Space Force to run it. However, obviously Europa's conditions vastly differ than Earth, so there's no reason to think our Earth military submarine designs should really be terribly relevant.

Why is there USSF anyway?
I thought the "Space Force" is supposed to be part of the Navy, just like in Mass Effect and some other scf-fi.
