This is it. This is The One Mod. Just get it and forget all of the other garbage on the Workshop, most of which does not work at all. This is highly compatible, trouble-free and simply works.
The Turn 50 variant also works flawlessly, but I don't personally recommend it because - while kind of novel - the Chaos stacks just raze the whole map. Nobody can even remotely resist them except you, which very quickly makes the experience devolve into lightning strikes on a barren, desolate waste. Thematically fitting but IMHO pretty boring.
This one hits the right sweet spot.
I am having a really wasted campaign and nearing turn 100 so would love to turn this on to create that "Kick" Chaos needs to overcome the dwarf tide in front of me!
Turns out, after the update, my Beastmen fix is no longer necessary, so I commented it out.
Invasions work again.
I really enjoy this mod and would appreciate any of your thoughts on this FiftyTifty.
Fun fun!
The workaround is to make use of the old chaos invasion factions, which were removed from the script when CA rewrote it. Now it works properly.
Still those unmoving fleets make for some good XP farming between lightning strike and armies that are easy wins even with auto-resolve.
I even sent a solo army out into the sea with the specific intention of trying to see if it would get mauled. I'm on VH so if it did I could just reload the save. Nothing. Since then I've been chipping away at the Chaos fleets offshore with Lightning Strike and the meanest stacks I can get. The only movement those Chaos stacks are doing is fleeing when badly outmatched or in the aftermath of a Lightning Strike.
Is this as expected? Are all these massive amounts of Chaos stacks not meant to move until some later point?
...Except they weren't. Nothing happened. The massive fleets Chaos had didn't move at all. Eventually I scouted out the oceans and the two vanilla Chaos invasion points at the Chaos Wastes and Naggaroth. I found more "fleets" of 30+ stacks: two at the bottom of the map between Lustria and the Land of Assassins, and two more around the Dragon Spine on Ulthuan's southwestern coast. There were also the large groups of armies north of Naggaroth as expected. But... only the forces coming out of the Chaos Wastes actually had moved at all. The others seem like they are 100% passive.
...
...
Which is when I lead a last-ditch resistance, by reviving factions from ruins and making them my vassals. It's glorious.
Make sure to get the mod that grants all chaos armies triple gold chevrons for every unit.
It's pretty damn fun leading a resistance against Chaos, but only Horde factions will have any chance at surviving it all.
