@mikef4, Sorry I only saw this now. Any luck? Have you tried with Find it? Yeah, I'm definitely afraid it's the same problem I myself had. If you're still having problems, I'll try to take a look myself soon and see if anything changed!
In the meantime, there are already several videos in which BonBonB explains how we can participate. The most important ones are probably the first video with the call: https://youtu.be/fAai96VzQ44?si=JRqNCNDKhLgwWhbP and the last one for now with the hint how we should share our SaveGames: https://youtu.be/pXbAcp673MY?si=9bL6piDICmXd7bqf .
I guess BonBonB will make an overall video at the end. But at the moment there are still a few people missing. So everyone can still grab a tile to join in.
And btw, it's true what qstar.inc said: with Skyve you can turn off the DLC completely - as if you didn't have it at all.
I'll try to look into it in time, but right now I'm undergoing a big move to another country so it'll be a while.
Out of curiosity, do share if there's a video of that collab thing!
@qstar.inc: Right, of course! Thanks very much. Done!
But don't worry, although it's a bit more work, you can always use the old asset and make it as wide as necessary with a Node Controller mod! That didn't exist when I made this. Just be aware you'll get flooding icons if used underwater.
(I've never seen JoJo)
(I've never seen JoJo)
I read OG, so of course. All noble gases from Helium to Oganesson are great for flowy, luscious, voluminous invisible networks.
As for zero-G, only with care, as they may spin in zero-G. DO. NOT. CROSS THE EDGES. If you make a mobius strip, they could grow into a Klein Bottle, at which point, boundaries between worlds would have been breached and … God help us all.
@Larry Skylines: The first could be a legit question for some people, so I'll answer, no bc it's based on a canal, and even if it was based on a road, I would have turned off snow accumulation.
For the 2nd question: aeroforming planned in a future asset. :)
Is there an elevated/bridge version?
But OK, I understand the possible reaction or misunderstanding, so I've edited that out. I still want to be open and honest about what's possible with the original because as implied before, I know people who DID use the old one with node controller - I just don't know which one, or if things have changed. I've moved the two notes to the differences section. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you appreciate and enjoy the asset.
When I first needed a terraforming network I saw that and went with the original. Only to find out that if you unsub from that without removing every network your map gets broken.
I'm glad your asset supports being placed underwater. Toggle it option is not a replacement for that. Personally I like to keep the flooding notifications citywide, ust not for my terraforming networks...
Also as @Sprout pointed node controller doesn't work on the original mod.... So the whole paragraph of "Slightly Obsolete" is unnecesseary and scares pushes people away IMHO.
Aside from all that, thank you for this mod/asset it is very usefull and works as intended... upvoting.
I happened to see a comment requesting a rectangular brush, so if that's your main reason for using Terraform Tool, then, yes, maybe this is an alternative - if you're ok with drawing stuff at the scale of networks.
But make sure you've read my description to understand that the intended use of this pack is for cases that really need it. It should never be your main terraforming option.
So beyond that, I don't know! Up to you to try it out!
Feel free to use the image if you'd like to! I don't really have a better one because I made it on the spot while working on a weird rail interchange in order to test out how well the networks worked with the aformentioned mods.
I know NC can be used with the original because that's what Akruas does and why he doesn't use my set - but there are 2 NC's out there so maybe it depends on that? Which one do you use?
Ok, so just like Move It, I guess you mean NM's features to automatically draw or manipulate bypasses the restriction, which makes sense.
I'll change to "slightly" obsolete
Let me know if I can include your pic here or if you have a better one. :)
As it turns out, the original terraforming networks can't be node controlled, while yours can. So that alone is a pretty major advantage to using these. Network Multitool does indeed allow me to bypass the canal restriction, and Move It can also be used to get around it, as well as make needed fine adjustments.
Strictly speaking, in my opinion, these networks are a direct improvement over the original, in ease of use, flexibility in usage, and even just being able to place the larger ones to save on net nodes for the limit.
I wouldn't want to pressure you to keep updating it (though I don't feel it really needs to be updated in the first place), but I would say that calling these ones obsolete is not true at all!
Even cooler if Network Multitool helps too . That sounds awesome. Got any pics to share?
Let me know if something there does get around the canal closeness limitation!
As for the flooding notification, it's something i'd rather leave on for those times when terraforming a riverside floods the commercial district downstream. As is inevitable.
However, the mod Toggle It! by Keallu can disable the flooding notification. Obviously the net still works even if flooded, so if you don't mind toggling off the notification for the whole city, you can just use the original net by Ronyx.
Similarly, if you use Node Controller, you can adjust the widths of any net, so again, you can just use the old one and don't need a pack.
Just letting you know to be fair and so you don't sub to more than you need! Mods have made this a bit obsolete. For anyone who wouldn't want to remove all flooding notifications, I hope to make a version 3 which will be a single asset to use with Node Controller. So, pick what serves you best!
@FooPhoenix: I didn't consider looking into it appearing in any editors since I didn't think there was a point. I'm not sure I understand how it can be useful, even temporarily. Do you think you can try to explain that again? If it would be too long to type here and especially if pictures are best to help understand, feel free to add me to discuss, and I could consider looking into making it possible in the next version.
@VecchioCristo: Awesome to hear it! Hope that makes it worth the hassle of not being able to draw them close to each other. If you're willing to get rid of the limitation at a cost of a visually annoying but harmless "flooded" icon, you can just use the original one by ronyx.
I use this to lay down under water next to a quay, so that the ground doesnt’t stick out if there is a road against the quay. Really helpfull. Just place it against the quay over the water and sink it with Move It. 😏👍🏼
