The workbenches have been retextured for the new mod too. The bio-engineering pod in VFEI will be kept separate, though the new genepod will probably use a similar system

Its the main reason i haven't used it before, heck im still kinda on the fence about it because the workbenches look kinda off when next to other work spaces. That and there is no patch for the VFE insectoids genetic station so you end up with 2 of them.

I like the old textures for the creatures better because they look more alien -- and works with giddy-up saddles. But whatever.

I know you don't like your old textures, but any chance they'll at least be left around as a re-texture mod after GR switches to the new ones?

The thing is, I don't want the textures that blend with vanilla for something that's in itself so alien to vanilla. Your old ones stand out with all that extra detial, and IMHO, that's a good thing for this mod - they give it character.

Dunno what's on the technical side of all of this (less details = better performance?) but by visuals only, no offense, I see your new ones as a downgrade.

It wouldn't make sense, Genetic Rim isn't 1.3 and won't be for a while, and by then this will be integrated on the main mod

Does anyone else have the problem of retextures not applying on hybrids with other mods? Everything else like the normal hybrids looks perfect but my Alpha Animals and Megafauna hybrids still have the old graphics

The textures were the one thing keeping me away from Genetic Rim, but this is he perfect fix! The thing is, it took me weeks between then and now to stumble across this mod, which I found on accident. Since you're the author of both, I'm curious why not just make these the official textures of the mod? Seems to me like making the legacy textures its own side-mod would have been the way to go instead. Just my two cents.

I for one second the biome with only hybrids spawning idea. I too want to suffer. Although it may be a better idea for alpha biomes all things considered, maybe as a genetic rim patch if possible when active like how you did when moving genetic rim compat to alpha animals?

Oh, before I indulge myself in the beauty of this...

I personally would love to see a slight rework of some workbenches, containers, etc. (in future updates), that still don't have the "vanilla style". :happycthulhu:

This is just my feedback, nothing more, nothing less, and maybe you're already working on it (and I might have missed it somewhere) :D

You guys are doing such a great job. I love the community of this game so much, even if I sometimes burst into autistic banter to my friends about things I see as flaws or have personal issues with, etc. etc., but it's these kind of projects that make the experience of modding the game so... flavorful. :stars::t0cactuar::stars:
