NOTE!!:
As of update 01.021.024, Ice_01, Helium_01, Helium_02 no longer exist.
Some Guy 31 Mar, 2015 @ 11:09am
Gravity please! Also, helium?
Foxolov 30 Mar, 2015 @ 11:50am
what a helium???
I haven't meet it for over 100+ hours of my gameplay
Screaming Angels  [author] 13 Mar, 2015 @ 4:38pm
I have add the ability to create asteroids just like this and larger directly in game using the following mod script and the chat command "/createroidsphere".
Cain Bennu 10 Mar, 2015 @ 1:25am
you sir, are a master
Screaming Angels  [author] 9 Mar, 2015 @ 11:28pm
@Scorpionvenom1 : it is available here as an asteroid .
Cain Bennu 9 Mar, 2015 @ 10:59pm
could you consider turning this into an astroid blueprint?
Screaming Angels  [author] 24 Jan, 2015 @ 7:54pm
The game format has changed a bit since this was last updated in May 2014.
I have fixed any incompatibility issues and republished. :)
Meadow 24 Jan, 2015 @ 2:21pm
i cant even load the freaking world
Zeinath 27 Nov, 2014 @ 8:07pm
Yeah, saw this, was almost 100% what I've been hoping for to start a map around, just, would rather the ores be random in the planet instead of even layers... Was going to make one in the SEToolbox, but I can't figure out how to change the makeup of an asteroid to be a mix instead of jsut a solid material when I don't go with the presets...
Nightshade 26 Nov, 2014 @ 4:42pm
Great map but you should make another version with hills and mountain or have mixed spots of ores.
Zombysushi 14 Sep, 2014 @ 1:59pm
is there a spherical gravity option? as in, a spherical grav generator in the center with a sphere of influence large enough to enclose the planet?
KuchenEsser 8 Sep, 2014 @ 12:36pm
I love this map, but it's just a little too much for my computer to handle. Would it be possible to make something like this, only smaller? Like, 400 or 500 meters in diameter?
Screaming Angels  [author] 21 Aug, 2014 @ 7:12pm
.vox files are binary in format, there isn't an easy way to edit them currently.
I've been working on SEToolbox to create a better method for importing 3d models into asteroids to allow defining which parts are which ore/material, but it's taking me some time, and health issues have gotten in the way recently.
ViccyQ 15 Aug, 2014 @ 12:11am
So where can users like us edit these planets like you have?
As you know, using 3D models produces planets like yours but only 1 or 2 ores.

Is there a way users like me can edit the planet such as you did?

Where can we do this in SE ToolBox or atleast edit .vox file types to produces results such as these planets?

Thanks
(LUX)Dinomaster 30 Jul, 2014 @ 8:56pm
thansk i have benn looking for a map this big and round with all the ores forever.
Screaming Angels  [author] 23 Jul, 2014 @ 9:31pm
No unfortunately. I just generate the occasional asteroid when I'm testing the code for SEToolbox. Lots of others have a better idea (and time) on setting up a nice survival world.
I put the time into improving SEToolbox so others can create awesome asteroids.
|-DMD-| Rusty 23 Jul, 2014 @ 4:12pm
This is really nice. Do you have a good map made for survival - with moons and asteroids? I just put up a new server and the default random world is junk. :( I am not able to create my own unfortunately - I don't have the talent.
Sovereign Shaggy 9 Jul, 2014 @ 6:00am
This is awesome you going to make more
Screaming Angels  [author] 31 May, 2014 @ 7:41pm
"procedurally generated using Developer code".
As the author of SEToolbox, I'm able to write code that put ores into specific locations. It is not random.
Blunder Bro 30 May, 2014 @ 12:02pm
how did you make it have ores? i am trying to create a planet for my server but can't find the option to add mroe than 1 ore inside the planet on SEtoolbox
Laaaaggertha 7 May, 2014 @ 8:17am
this is really cool. it is definately not for low end computers. ive got a nice machine and it was very laggy. Thumbs up though.
vmetric 16 Apr, 2014 @ 7:41am
How resource demanding is this?
And, render issues as in...? Blocks not showing up?

Other than that, looks awesome.
NiniĒ 10 Apr, 2014 @ 12:45pm
YES I LOVE YOU ANGELS!
Vatarr 9 Apr, 2014 @ 5:15am
Thankyou!
Screaming Angels  [author] 9 Apr, 2014 @ 4:07am
@Vatarr I've created a larger version, with no tunnel. AND it has a moon!

Vatarr 6 Apr, 2014 @ 6:06am
I would like to request this map, without the tunnel please.
NiniĒ 1 Apr, 2014 @ 7:40pm
Vas im surprised it ran that. My machine with 3930k @ 4.3 ghz and a 780 still chugs a bit when trying to play. I gotta say, nothing makes a cooler survival world though. Or a hard one :P
Vas 30 Mar, 2014 @ 10:16pm
Ha ha haa. I can load a world with 2 of this asteroid. Only explorer.exe crashed because I was doing multiple things. (Not internet explorer, windows explorer, you know, the folder windows and your desktop :P) You can see memory usage and stats in this picture too. The world ran pretty damn smooth too considering.

I could still use my PC too, just had to restart explorer.exe :P
Vas 30 Mar, 2014 @ 9:30pm
Odd, my steam went all german on me for a moment. Anyhow.

Lemme see what happens when I try to load a map with 2 of these. :P I have 8GB of memory after all, so the game is the one that limits you and not the computer? Cause I do run it in 64 bit.
Screaming Angels  [author] 30 Mar, 2014 @ 5:15pm
I don't know of a file size limit of asteroids, but there is a memory limit on asteroids when loaded into Space Engineers.
It isn't a hard limit, but I can tell you that it isn't much bigger than this one ^ here. If you were to import copy of it next to it, you would see what happens clearly.
I've been thinking on how to regenerate this large asteroid, but with a few pockets of ore here and there with the aim of reducing the complexity, thus reducing the size in memory. I'll have to get back to you on that one.
Vas 29 Mar, 2014 @ 11:28am
That sucks. I wanted a randomly generated moon basically that I could build and anchor my 'ship' to with some asteroids around it "orbiting' it. I didn't want an asteroid where you could predict all the locations of everything though. :P What's the max file size of the asteroid files anyway? Can you pre-generate one that has ores in semi random spots while remaining as small as possible? :P Or is it still too complex and large?
Screaming Angels  [author] 29 Mar, 2014 @ 5:57am
@Vas. I can generate it without the tunnel if you wish. Yes it's possible to randomize it, however due to the way KSH optimize the content and compress it, randomizing the content will cause the asteroid to increase from 11Mb, to 180Mb. Space Engineers crashes when attempting to load asteroids that complex (large).
Vas 28 Mar, 2014 @ 12:04pm
Would it be possible to upload one of these asteroids with randomized ore, without the tunnel through it? A completely untouched moon so to speak. Also, is it possible to have the game randomize what is inside it? Or is that just a part of each asteroid the game offers up?
NiniĒ 1 Feb, 2014 @ 9:02pm
So amazing. Any possible way of making a larger asteroid? If it's a rather quick generation with 16gb of ram i wanna see Space Engineers chug on my 780!
DarthGizmo 24 Jan, 2014 @ 8:22pm
this is pretty cool ima try and make even gravity on all sides pulling in so it's like a real planet :P thanks again.
Lalo Salamanca 18 Jan, 2014 @ 5:18pm
neat idea
zombiedude515 16 Jan, 2014 @ 11:18am

Adding new detail to the description:
Please see the Keen forum, for the SEToolbox for changing asteroid materials.

Procrasturbator 13 Jan, 2014 @ 5:13pm
my apologies, no i had not, it is very nice, also, where/how do you make the astroids at?
Screaming Angels  [author] 13 Jan, 2014 @ 4:56pm
@Pyro. You haven't seen my Asteroid sampler in my workshop?

Procrasturbator 13 Jan, 2014 @ 2:48pm
i was wondering if you could maybe build a small astroid field and each one be a different type of ore? it would be mega appreciated so as to know what each type looks like.
BLACK® 12 Jan, 2014 @ 4:05am
Nice ! Can u build a normal Asteroidfield with more Ore`s ?
We can load this as default for new worlds and have enough Ores to mining :)
Jack 12 Jan, 2014 @ 3:13am
Lame, takes the fun out of searching.
Dune Drifter 8 Jan, 2014 @ 11:20pm
Thanks again Screaming Angel - beautiful work - as usual
Screaming Angels  [author] 8 Jan, 2014 @ 10:14pm
Don't worry. I did the same thing first time! :sadpanda:
Carnaxus 8 Jan, 2014 @ 9:00pm
I. Am. An. IDIOT!...I was expecting the Workshop saves to show up under the normal "Load" dialog. Never even thought to click the "Workshop" button cos I figured that'd lead to the ingame overlay Workshop. DURR.
Bigboss 8 Jan, 2014 @ 4:29pm
just tryed this map i cant see myself going to anything else XD
Screaming Angels  [author] 8 Jan, 2014 @ 12:57pm
If you have subscribed to this, then you have it already. You can import it into any another world using my toolbox.
Carnaxus 8 Jan, 2014 @ 3:09am
Any chance you could release this as a voxel for your toolbox?
