About making a mod like this yourself. I can advice you to download GCFScape, free software. Just google it. With this you can open up VPK files and look at the file structure. Just copy that file structure, replace a sound file (give it the same name as the default file), then drop the folder than contains the file structure and obviously the sound file on the shortcut VPK.exe, which generates a VPK. This executable comes with L4D 2 Authoring Tools, that you can download through the Tools section in steam. If you got any questions, just let me know.

All in all, the saferoom music mods do work, but sometimes they don't. What actually the cause is I don't know. It also seems that most of the time they don't work in the original campaigns that you can play in l4d 2. Of all the sounds mods out there, saferoom music mods seem to give people the most trouble. I'm afraid there is not much we can do about this.

@SantSaga: Ok, well, the final fantasy cursos doesn't have anything to do with it. The thing I can advice you to do is redownloading the addon. Perhaps that'll do the trick. This means you have to unsubscribe and manually delete the files from the workshop or start up your game after unsubscribing. This will update your subscriptions as well. Just check your workshop folder after this to be sure. Also, check some of my comments below for a solution.

Nope... Maybe one, a "Final Fantasy Cursor" but it is not "ingame" i think... Is that the problem? (And, can you tell me how did you do that?, i mean, i wanna try with some other songs of FF :P )

@SantSaga: Do you got any custom campaigns activated in the ingame addons list?

Perhaps you got a different mod that alters the same file? Other cause could be the sound system itself. From what I understand it's kinda buggy. You could try, in that case, to use the developer console. Type in the following: snd_updateaudiocache, then snd_rebuildaudiocache. The sound will probably loop when doing this, but that's normal. When the rebuilding is done, type in exit. It will boot you out of the game, now restart the game.

As you can tell, there could be different reasons why a sound mod won't work. I have tested the mod again in my own game, but it seems to work just fine. Keep me updated if it keeps giving you problems.

Works perfectly fine in my own game. Well, let's see, did you make sure the complete file has been actually downloaded? Sometimes the servers of steam are screwed up and files aren't downloaded completely. Happened a couple of times to me. Unsubscribe to the mod and subscribe again (keep an eye out on the file size).

Did you make sure the file is actually installed in your game? A progress bar has to show up. A lot of times people don't give the game a chance to install the mods properly and just join a game right away. To make sure, deactivate the mod in your list and activate it again.
