This is my Favourite map! The combat scenarios are so fun and well set-up and the map layout is very cleaver ! A MUST PLAY ! big Thank you to Developer for bringing this into our lives!

Amazing work!
One of the best maps I ever played.
The pipe puzzles were so clever and well executed... only problem I got it was a bit too dark in my Index so I mainly guessed the last puzzle.

Nonetheless mindblowing and beautiful work!

Just finished it. ABSOLUTELY STELLAR. I hope there will be more from you... you are a genius. I love the balance of combat, exploration and puzzles. You really make the player feel rewarded for the progress. Hopefully there will be calls from VALVE to bring you into the fold!

Ahh, thanks, that was it! I had to disable two mods ("Scalable Init Support" and "[P2] Sp_a2_core"), and the map worked perfectly!
Real fun—the steam valve staircase puzzle was clever :)

Hi Cykelero, I have heard this issue before. Please make sure you have no other add ons enabled and try again. When discussing this with the last person who brought it up, that solved the issue.

I tried playing Storm Drain but strangely, I'm stuck at the very beginning: train sounds play, the screen fades in from black, and then—nothing happens. I'm in a train car, but both doors are closed, and I can't find a way to change that (can't climb over the nets separating me from the two piles of stuff, can't find wires with the multitool, and nothing seems shootable).

Am I missing something obvious?

Great map, level design is top notch, could've used a bit less ammo ;p, also had quite big performance hit only throughout the Laser Mine area, didn't expect it to be this good :SpRad_ThumbsUp: :heartris:

Fun to replay, the 2023 update! However, I miss the big yellow crane :O . In the area of the power source in the combine truck and the area after area I notice slight performance problem. Had a good time in my replay - thank you for the new update. Excelent map :steamhappy:

Very polished feel, wouldn't look out of place as a section of the main campaign. Some of the later encounters could use a few more enemies, particularly in the 2nd part after you're coming back from disabling the power source at the back of the Combine vehicle.

2. Otherwise, the only bug I'd faced was a bit of prop architecture having a too large a collision box, making the grenade I was throwing over it bounce right back. This is on the train tracks close to the ending of the map - the box with the red gas tank atop it. Had trouble gravity pulling the tank towards myself too due to the collision.

3. Performance is a bit sub-optimal throughout most areas of the map, I had to work through a minor bit of reprojection throughout my playthrough - although I admit my machine isn't the greatest & I'd been playing on the High(est) graphics settings. Playing on an Oculus Rift S with an RTX 2070 GPU & Ryzen 3700X CPU.

All in all, this is definitely one of the most impressive custom maps I'd had the pleasure of playing. Looks great, plays great, and I can't ask for more. Up to par with the official Valve content, definitely. Thank you!

Just finished a playthrough of the current version v2.3b. Really quite exceptional level architecture/detail!

1. Gameplay was quite fair for the most part on Hard difficulty - although the second encounter in the central circle sewer area (not quite how best to describe it!) did take me many tries to get through. This was when you return to this area a second time and have to fight several waves of Combine. It was particularly tough as I was playing seated and the game's crouch didn't quite put me low enough to be well enough below the cover. The Combine would also approach from both directions with nowhere for me to retreat, nullifying the effectiveness of said cover. Perhaps somewhere to fall back to and hide from the flanking enemies would've been most helpful in that situation.

Watching the yearlong development of this map, I wasn't sure it was going to come out this polished. Previous issues I had with performance, for example, were well mitigated here in the final release. Captured the feeling of a valve-created chapter flawlessly. The puzzles were fun and light, well immersed within the environment. The arenas felt more than fair with the combine well placed/choreographed. The landscape and map design was worth turning down my frame-rate in order to experience the full scope of what you had created. Maps like these have me returning to this game on the regular, thank you for this experience.

Few things I think should be changed, fixed, or added

1. The Combine Fabricator is floating in the air, you might want to fix that

2. Ease up on the trip mines. There are way too many in my opinion.

3. Have the train move at the end of the map.

4 I'm running into a bug where sometimes some sound effects don't play, and i have no idea why??

- Since I've commented on this level extensively in the past, I will not do so here. My feelings can best be summarized by the 1982 Time Magazine article of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: 'It's like visiting an old friend, and afterwards finding out everything turned out fine.' For a level I've played from its infancy to its likely conclusion, I can offer no higher praise.

Played on an i7-8700, 16GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti with a Valve Index (90Hz refresh, Motion Smoothing On). Observations are as follows:
- Played smoothly 98% of the time. Had frameskips for a few seconds following loading the the occasional checkpoint.
- This was a unique experience being with this workshop offering from the beginning. I was anxious that all of the previous replays over the many months would dilute the final product, but I was proved to be incorrect.
- Seeing the fully-realized art for all areas of the level was a great lesson in 'seeing it all come together'. The were various changes in multiple areas of the level, none of which detracted from previous offerings. The combat sequences, although varied in intensity (minimally reduced, but made for a better steady sense of progress for a more casual player) still maintained their effectiveness in tension.
