Hope this will be ported for WH3, with Khorne in the equation now, this mod just makes perfect sense

@Paskale terryflap said they were interested in porting this, so I had put it out of my mind. I don't know whether terryflap still intends to port this.

This is one of my favourite mods of TW:W2; I just got TW:W3 and couldn't find this mod for it!

Are you planning on porting it over? If not, would you mind terribly if I had a go at porting it? I haven't done any modding in Total War before, so I might not be able to figure it out; but I'm happy to figure it out on my own and not bother you with it :)
I can either send you the version I make so you can upload it, or I'll credit you if you can't because you don't own warhammer 3 or whatever

The MCT bug appears to be fixed, so this mod can see your MCT settings again. I had to unsubscribe and re-subscribe to MCT to get the latest MCT bugfix, so I recommend you do the same. I have only done limited testing so far, but I've confirmed this mod can see your MCT settings again with that fix (thanks @Vandy!). As always, this mod still works without MCT using either the default settings or the optional text file configuration.

If you use MCT, please note: the new MCT currently has a bug that makes it so your MCT settings are ignored in some battle mods like this one (it doesn't crash or anything; this mod just can't find your MCT settings). I just spoke with Vandy and he is working on a fix. In the meantime, this mod still works with the text file configuration or with just the default settings.

"Updated." As usual, no changes were necessary to be compatible with the recent game update (based on in-game testing and looking at CA's script changes). Now the launcher won't complain about it being out-of-date, though.

@Gleen Cross: I looked at a few things, including High Resolution UI Improvements mod, but even with that mod, this Counting Skulls mod still works fine for me. Since I haven't been able to reproduce the issue, I'm not sure what I can do. (@ anyone else: are the skulls still appearing for you?)

I believe the issue is related to the "High Resolution UI Improvements" mod, maybe? It's the only other mod that I use who also modifies the unit cards and stuff (they added a real time morale bar and etc). Maybe that's the source of the conflict? I will try other combinations later, but other than SFO, extra units/heroes and more skills/traits, this is basically the only stuff that I use in my game

I checked it just now in a custom battle after downloading this week's game patch, and it still seems to be working for me.

@Gleen Cross Could you try temporarily disabling all other mods and doing a custom battle? (Toss in a Hellcannon and you will be able to tell pretty quickly if any skulls are appearing.) That will tell us if any of the other mods you have is interfering, or if the problem is something else. If it does turn out to be a mod conflict, I can look into it and try contacting that mod's author if needed so that we can get it fixed.

The chaos worshiper option is pretty cool, lol but the mod is not working for me anymore, I don't know why. Using SFO and some extra lords/skills stuff. I tried all the options in the "configure menu", but the skulls are not showing

@Tim The Enchanter Doesn't count as a necro post if you're commenting on a mod that I'm still maintaining. ;) Are the new configuration options for this mod sufficient for what you want, or were you hoping to have it appear in the space-bar menu? (The space bar menu is trickier to get to save, so I probably won't do that for this mod. I'd love if CA added it to the game, though!)

Good news! I just tested gabfou's most recent update to ClickNFight or Spell Easy Access, and we seem to have fixed the incompatibility. Now you can enjoy that mod, Find Idle Units, and Counting Skulls all at the same time if you'd like!

Today's update fixes an incompatibility with Find Idle Units, and it fixes my half of the incompatibility with ClickNFight or Spell Easy Access, among other things. I will message that mod's author about the rest of the incompatibility, since it requires a small change to their script.

@Raskaran: That would be great for at least some factions! Let me know if you are an artist that could help with that.
@Neferata13: I like the idea of extending the 385 limit, but I don't want to get rid of the skulls that are already there. One idea I've had would be to have additional scaled-down skull piles around the one that's already there. Recoloring those other piles or changing the shading might help, since then they could overlap while still looking distinct. I'll have to experiment with it (or find an artist).
