Okay! Thank you for your explanation. My English is not very good. I almost use a translator to read these MOD descriptions. I thought this can safely uninstall all types, haha.:steamthumbsup:

@ᗦ↞◃ As stated in the mod's description, it only lets you safely uninstall mods that add modded techs

Hello! I tried to unsubscribe from a mod called Bonsai Trees after using it.
But when I activate the original character and reach certain areas, I will be automatically kicked back to the spaceship.
After trying to check it, I found that the Bonsai Trees object seemed to be missing, so I had to reinstall it.

@VoydFox2008 It works on my end. It's possible you have a mod which replaces `player.config` instead of patching it. This mod adds a script to `player.config`, so if it's replaced, it can't run the script

would it be possible to make a mod that prevents crashes from uninstalling mods that add npc's and custom structures?

As far as I know when a mod adds structures, the game scans for missing tiles and objects when loading a planet, and remove them. You might be beamed up again, but the second time might work.
Problem is if it adds missions, quests, universe/char generation and changes UIs, techs (not anymore), that sort of stuff.

it mostly crashes the first time, then they get PGI'd

mods that add items won't crash if you uninstall unless there are certain properties of those items I forgot. theitems will just turn to PGOs

the mod doesn't add any new content or items, it just prevents non-existent tech from crashing the game

yes, but FU is so fat that this mod can't do it alone.

if you do want to try, install this mod, rename your "/starbound/storage/universe" folder to something like "funiverse", then try loading your character until it works. the game will crash about two or three times, but after that, it should be fine.

if it crashes more than 5 times per character, send them to me and I'll fix them

Great timing to have just seen this! I have just finished the game and want to move to mods with my cousin. But we got scared by the possible 'crashing' that could occur, so this is very helpful. Thank you! :D

trevogin, this mod automatically unequips any non-existent tech from your characters, so Starbound won't freak out if it can't find the data for the tech.
