Какой-то пустой остров, или я чего-то не понимаю. Берега почти полны лесами и поселениями, но ближе к центру острова ничего нет, лишь трава и пару камней.

I really like this map's aesthetic.
Unfortunately, some of the forest patches on steep hillsides have a lot of floating trees, which is a little jarring.

The heightmap was derived a real life 30mx30m accuracy terrain data, followed by editing the data by hand to get it more accurate/detailed and for playability. I've found a new method that allows you to use 1m accuracy terrain data from hoydedata.no and it is definitly the method I prefer now. The original location for the map is Lepsøya just outside Ålesund.

The landscape is very good and interesting to play on. The placement and surroundings of the houses needs some finetuning though but thats ok for a first release.

Map is overall good but this map has best airbase design ever made on any map, feels like the layout of real airbase.

@LLA Don Zombie The Detection module doesn't require ALIVE. I don't believe that Recruitment does either, but I'm not certain on that. You can just use them for the resistance side of things, and then DMP to set up your enemy faction.

@Billy Rising It's actually not too difficult to set up a sort of "Bootleg Antistasi" with Drongo's Map Population and Spyder's Addons, and DMP can also be used to set up something quite similar to Dynamic Recon Ops. They're both fairly easy-to-learn mods, and I'd highly recommend using them.

@Mallekip Hi! Thanks for the compliments! Indeed, only the eastern edge is paved. In my imagination that part of the airfield is the one that is going to see the most foot traffic, and is made for landing helicopters, and parking planes inbetween missions. They will most likely be towed by smaller tow-trucks for servicing. Therefore, the more plane-oriented and quick scrambling west and north sections require a more open road that allows for ditching (Both accidental and purposeful ones). As for the lighthouse, it is intended to face inwards towards the fjord this island is located. It isnt featured, but in real life there would be another island a mere 2 km to the northeast.

As for a sullen skies type of addon, it would be amazing to see the top of the mountain obscured with clouds, as it often is in real life. Makes for lousy hiking but makes up for it in atmosphere!

A beautiful map that is filled with small details. Despite the fairly empty center of the map, it's rarely ever flat. The use of a realistic height-map allows for tactical approaches despite the lack of trees near the mountain. The villages are riddled with small details which makes the area feel lived in. Great work!

Wanted to congratulate you on this map!

Have to say, a lot of terrain makers tend to buldoze flat surfaces and put buildings on them for settlements or cliffs. You clearly spent a LOT of effort integrating the buildings with small variations in hills and things! The result looks very natural.

There's an airport, different shaped towns, seaport, small training camp, even a cemetery. Space for snipers, space for tanks, space in forests to hide in. And plenty of points where these areas intersect. With no obviously neglected parts of the island. I like!

There's enough areas for at least 6 different "patrol" missions, to give an idea of scale.

A few questions though: is there a reason why only the Eastern part of the aiport has curbed roads? And why the Northern lighthouse is positioned so strangely land inwards?

I can't wait for a "sullen skies" type addition to this terrain. But it's not necessary. This is great already!
