Is there a way to make it work with Real Space?
ChobbyCock 5 Aug, 2020 @ 12:05pm
When I try to start the game with a core start, I get popups with no text and a blank screen, I have tried accepting them and another just pops up. Not sure what's happening
Tristessa 28 Jul, 2020 @ 10:34pm
Awesome mod. Is there any way to not have a blue supergiant as the default "non-core" start? Even without System Scale, it seems to butt heads with Real Space by either clipping into the Sun like a broken sombrero or just blowing up the Disc. Given that I'm trying to run it as an AI Race origin, I worry they'll choose to start outside the core and make things all sorts of awkward. When I choose to start in a core world I seem to end up with an A class star main sequence star and everything works absolutely fine.

You need the perk.
Sjru 🐲 15 Jul, 2020 @ 10:42pm
So how do I change the Alderson disk specialty without the perk? Should that be changed?
Jeor Mormont "the old bear" 7 Jul, 2020 @ 9:13am
Ok :), its a weird choice for a gaia world equivalent gigastructure tho, id give the species gaia world preference in that case. Ur call tho
--  [author] 6 Jul, 2020 @ 7:19pm
That'd be like giving void dwellers continental preference, so for now, I'd rather not.
Jeor Mormont "the old bear" 6 Jul, 2020 @ 12:59pm
thanks :) Is there a way to keep the original planet type preference, since the alderson disc preference isnt convenient :D
--  [author] 6 Jul, 2020 @ 10:26am
A lot more options for starts now.
Jeor Mormont "the old bear" 6 Jul, 2020 @ 7:00am
wow, awesome response time. Thank you very much :)
--  [author] 6 Jul, 2020 @ 3:59am
"Fix" meaning the choice of whether to be random system or galactic core.
--  [author] 6 Jul, 2020 @ 3:58am
Also a huge update, please wait to start a new game unless you want to be in the galactic core.
Future "fix" won't effect any new games from this patch.
--  [author] 6 Jul, 2020 @ 3:57am
Rogue servitor should be fixed now.
--  [author] 5 Jul, 2020 @ 5:34pm
Yeah, it does break, no idea why.
I'll have to do some stuff with the start when I get a chance.
Jeor Mormont "the old bear" 5 Jul, 2020 @ 5:27pm
i encountered a really weird bug, spawning as a rogue servitor breaks the anderson disk start for some reason, not sure why. And primitives dont spawn either
--  [author] 5 Jul, 2020 @ 4:59pm
You need to use the origin, Halcyon.
Halcyon 5 Jul, 2020 @ 2:06pm
Doesn't work... says its invalid for a starting system.
--  [author] 4 Jul, 2020 @ 6:11pm
Arcane generator should be a non-issue for old saves now.
Pop demotion is now fixed with Birch World Origin's "All in this together" decision.
--  [author] 4 Jul, 2020 @ 1:00pm
Nocturne, you must have either started the game before the update or have a mod conflicting the captial initialization.
Elowiny says he has a hive mind equivalent planned for arcology.
Once that and machine equivalent are out, I'll change the origin for each type.
Jeor Mormont "the old bear" 4 Jul, 2020 @ 10:20am
thanks :)
Gammeldags 4 Jul, 2020 @ 10:01am
Hive mind cannot get the arcology project, therefore is not able to get the corresponding specialization, and that kinda sucks...
Durandal 4 Jul, 2020 @ 12:50am
To my knowledge I don't have anything like that, if you implemented it then there must be a conflict
--  [author] 3 Jul, 2020 @ 9:26pm
Is the arcane generator not working/doesn't exist?
Durandal 3 Jul, 2020 @ 8:17pm
I don't know how you couldn't have that problem unless you have a different mod of some sort, I started with only 28 pops and they all went to jobs like entertaining, enforcer, etc etc. and no one was working on food or minerals or energy.

Then add in the problem that your districts require gas, motes, and crystals
--  [author] 3 Jul, 2020 @ 8:02pm
Nocturne: Strange, I'm playing a normal empire and haven't had that problem
Jeor: You can terraform the slices once you get the alderson ascension perk.
Jeor Mormont "the old bear" 3 Jul, 2020 @ 4:33pm
Is there a way to replace a specific slice with the computing segment? Or is the anderson disk locked into the gaia slices?
Durandal 3 Jul, 2020 @ 4:18pm
One thing I think you need to tweak, is to remove the starting habitation hypersegment, this causes several starting pops to be on jobs for entertainers and whatnot, and this means basically no one is working on making things like minerals or energy, causing your economy to IMMEDIATELY tank straight into the ground, year 2200 and im already at 0 energy because of this, and if you are not playing hive or machine empire, your pops will not immediately go down to the lower jobs.
WoLf.Hitman980 2 Jul, 2020 @ 2:42am
I have run into the same problem
--  [author] 1 Jul, 2020 @ 8:51pm
TheFlosh, that may be caused by another mod, however I did not test all origins.
Furrnomenon UwU 1 Jul, 2020 @ 7:16am
For some reason I spawn with a Planet inside of the Alderson disk and not on the Disk Itself
Durandal 30 Jun, 2020 @ 7:17pm
Dude freaky, I was literally just imagining what it'd be like to have an origin like this, and BOOM my wish was fulfilled by you before I even knew I wanted it
--  [author] 29 Jun, 2020 @ 7:08pm
That's likely why then.
I'll fix it in the next update.
Aelflead Wayne 29 Jun, 2020 @ 6:11pm
the thumbnail image need to be no bigger than 500x500 otherwise it won't load :steammocking:
--  [author] 29 Jun, 2020 @ 12:20am
Arcane generator seems to conflict with planetary diversity, I'll look into fixing it.
Trixie 28 Jun, 2020 @ 2:28pm
im now realizing i made a mistake with the arcane generator lol, it gives 50 extra upkeep than it should because i misread the produces of solar generator district as upkeep. Additionally, i think it would be best to not start with a city district as the specialist jobs cripple the player's economy at the start since you lack workers.
Trixie 28 Jun, 2020 @ 11:28am
descriptor needs to manually point to the thumbnail
picture="thumbnail.png"
should be a line
also i think thumbnail.png needs to just be in the mods folder?
--  [author] 28 Jun, 2020 @ 8:37am
I did, no idea why it doesn't display.
FirePrince 28 Jun, 2020 @ 12:34am
I wonder if you renamed your picture thumbnail.png. Unfortunately nothing is displayed.
--  [author] 27 Jun, 2020 @ 10:00pm
Primitives ended up being more trouble than worth, maybe I'll try it again some other time.
Might have some sort of custom precursor quest go along with this.
--  [author] 27 Jun, 2020 @ 5:58pm
You're welcome.
I'll try to get to it ASAP, thankfully I can fix this up at work.
Also looking for a way to get the icon placement to not be weird for the slices, I think gigastructures keeps them at a certain place since they're stuck to a certain megastructure entity.
Sir Mayday 27 Jun, 2020 @ 2:56pm
Okay, I haven't had much of a chance to play with the Alderson Disk much (it's technologically and economically demanding, after all); if you can change the type of the slice after generation, then all-Gaia is probably the best way to go.

Thank you for your continued work on this mod; I'm enjoying it, and I can tell already that it's improving your modding.
--  [author] 27 Jun, 2020 @ 11:58am
I'll add a choice for primitive generation.
The idea with having them all be gaia is that you can terraform them later, thus balancing this start just a bit more.
Phoenix Nebula 27 Jun, 2020 @ 11:36am
YES!
I wanted this so bad!
Sir Mayday 27 Jun, 2020 @ 10:49am
Also, if I had a choice between having six gaia slices or two each of gaia, ecu, and research slices, I'd easily prefer the latter.
Sir Mayday 27 Jun, 2020 @ 10:41am
And to clarify, I don't mean the disk slice became toxic, I mean it vanished and was replaced with a regular, spherical toxic world. Not that I suspect the core issue is with this mod, but as a rule the slices get treated like worlds instead of structures, allowing nonsensical events to fire and industrialized primitives to magically turn them into regular (if poisoned) planets.
Mr_Perlimpinpin 27 Jun, 2020 @ 4:18am
well personally I would prefer without them so you could add an option at the start of the game to turn them on. Birch world origin has that to generate megastructure in the nearby systems at the start.
Sir Mayday 27 Jun, 2020 @ 4:16am
That is a fun twist, but not without its problems. One of the primitives in my most recent Alderson start attempt turned their slice into a toxic world.
--  [author] 27 Jun, 2020 @ 4:14am
Yeah, I figured that might be a fun twist.
Mr_Perlimpinpin 27 Jun, 2020 @ 2:50am
is it normal that the rest of the disk is full of primitives ?
--  [author] 26 Jun, 2020 @ 1:54am
I got it, thank you Ashur.
