You have to use the random world setting or one of the recommended save files or it will crash the game.

Do not set any settings to ‘historical’ in Random World except for the optional historical religious features, religious names, and cultural names, or it will crash the the game.

The ‘rivers’ currently are actually sea tiles, so they can be navigated by anyone and have merchant republic trade posts build next to them. I will be adding proper rivers and a Silk Road to the overhauled map I am working on using a different projection, which I will most likely release as a separate mod

does this mod have rivers or tradeposts? I know CK2generator doesnt generate those things.

We probably used the same map projection, but no this isn’t a continuation of that, I looked through their files and they only had a heightmap for the Valles Marineris to Mt Olypmus area and a couple test history files, so I just used a height map from NASA to generate mine

around the same as vanilla, they will be reworked later. also thinking of recreating the map with the south pole centered map projection I just posted as the second image

@uhhscizo there should the Mars mod folder and the mars.mod file in Documents->Paradox Interactive->Crusader Kings II->mod. Sometimes steam workshop messes up downloads by zipping everything together with both files inside. So, check if both files are there, and if not unzip them and put them there. There is also a direct download link on the Discord.

@The Unknown Guy, this works with the latest version of ck2.

You cannot use the old generator from the ck2generator website, you need to use the reddit post from November 2018, and you need to use specific sizes or aspect rations for the heightmap you are using to generate the map. For the least amount of issues I would use the topology.bmp from vanilla as a template to place your map on.

Hello, two questions:

Does it work with the latest version of CK2 or do you have to revert to 3.0?

If it does work: How did you get CK2generator maps to work with the latest version? Mine consistently crash.

Haha... Fun...first thing I did when I got Ck generator was create a map based on a Mars heat map too! Haven't played it yet, but thought it would be fun.
