As long a you were entertained and happy, then this chamber served it's purpose. Thanks for playing.
vallibus 19 Sep, 2020 @ 2:55pm
Interesting one, Andi. I'm doubly happy I reached the exit, because for a while I didn't understand why I was doing what I was doing. In fact, I may have solved this in an unintended manner (e.g., I didn't need to use that timed flip panel. However, I'm still happy as a clam.
Andi  [author] 2 Sep, 2014 @ 11:52am
Thank you and thanks for playing.
The Sojourner 30 Aug, 2014 @ 9:57pm
This one was sure a joy to solve. Nice work :p2cube:
Andi  [author] 11 Jul, 2014 @ 10:54am
Don't worry about it, everyone has bad days now and again.
TheAireaidLord 10 Jul, 2014 @ 6:50pm
also let me know how u like my chamber when u get a chance to try it. Thanks!
TheAireaidLord 10 Jul, 2014 @ 6:50pm
damn I just saw the video that's tricky stuff lol. Btw sorry for my original comment, I had been having a bad day and the chamber just made me angry cuz I thought it was easy lol
Andi  [author] 10 Jul, 2014 @ 10:27am
The video is on this page, right below the picture.

Sure, I'll try your chamber.
TheAireaidLord 9 Jul, 2014 @ 5:41pm
also I have a chamber that has multiple layers and is tricky like this one. Give it a shot if you're up for it. It's my first one and I think it's pretty cool!
TheAireaidLord 9 Jul, 2014 @ 5:40pm
oh do you have a link? I'll just watch the first part to access the lift, it's all I need
Andi  [author] 8 Jul, 2014 @ 1:06pm
The video is up.
Andi  [author] 7 Jul, 2014 @ 11:05am
No problem.
TheAireaidLord 6 Jul, 2014 @ 3:27pm
yeah u can post one if you want. I just need to figure out how to hit that button with the lift. If i can get that I should be fine figuring it out.
Andi  [author] 5 Jul, 2014 @ 1:41pm
Thank you for the comment and thank you for your candor. This is no trick in solving this chamber, it can be done with traditional methods. All of my chambers are like that, they’re just very challenging. I can post a video if you like. Thanks again for your comment.
TheAireaidLord 4 Jul, 2014 @ 7:30pm
the design was interesting but it just seemed odd. The ratings seem divided if you took a look at them. I'm going off of the experience I've had with past test chambers. Sorry if the comment was attacking but the test chamber just seemed random. I think some things need some changes because it's based around an odd type of strategy. There's no way to keep that lift active while you stand on it also. I don't see a way to complete this unless there's an exploit or strategy that's a result of materials that aren't used in the original game (modded items). That's what frustrates me sometimes. People mod the game and for people who aren't familiar with the mods, it's this "oh well" attitude. I just like an original chamber that doesn't involve this type of trickery, that's all.
Andi  [author] 4 Jul, 2014 @ 4:54pm
I’m sorry that this chamber wasn’t to your liking. My tests are harder than most so I wouldn’t recommend that you try my other chambers since you are so easily annoyed and frustrated.

I welcome constructive criticism and I use it to make better chambers but your comment is worthless. I would appreciate it if you would please not post such incensed comments that use profanity, say “this chamber sucks”, and accuse me of making a chamber that can’t be finished. Did you read any of the comments before yours?
TheAireaidLord 4 Jul, 2014 @ 3:45pm
this map sucks. It's trial and error crap to figure anything out. It would be nice to know a fucking starting point for the map. How are you supposed to be on the platform and have the cube activate it? It's not even possible. These kind of chambers are just so worthless. They're just aggraviting and aren't even puzzles.
Andi  [author] 7 Feb, 2014 @ 10:15am
I see, you ment the drawbridge. I'm GLaD you found it,
Wilhelm 7 Feb, 2014 @ 10:04am
What u used was Draw Bridge,,, got it in the download link u gave me just now,, Thanks a lot :)
Wilhelm 7 Feb, 2014 @ 9:54am
but ur angeld panel is like double the size in height, thats whats so weird,
Nethseäar 7 Feb, 2014 @ 9:22am
Ah, of course! Figured it out. Not having the option to cheat certainly helps one find the right way. Well done! Thanks again for the puzzle!
Andi  [author] 7 Feb, 2014 @ 9:01am
Thanks. The angled panel should be in your element list. You can change the angle from 0 to 30 to 45 to 90 degrees depending on what you want.
Wilhelm 7 Feb, 2014 @ 5:52am
Nice map! was real fun and hard :)
Btw, how did you get that big angels panels in the middle? The one you land on when u have used the laser from roof..
Andi  [author] 23 Jan, 2014 @ 11:36am
I'm making the change now.
Nethseäar 23 Jan, 2014 @ 10:30am
Good idea. I'll have to play again and figure that part out.
Andi  [author] 23 Jan, 2014 @ 9:21am
Thanks, happy to hear you enjoyed. I'm going to change the wall the the upper to steel so the player must use the lift. As far as the cube, I found if you raise the cube over the button and let it fall it will point up... as least 70% of the time it will point up.
Nethseäar 22 Jan, 2014 @ 7:05pm
Loved the use of the ceiling angled panel, for lasering and jumping/flinging! My only confusion is how you're supposed to use the lift to the exit-laser-deactivating button. I used the celing angled panel to get at the button, which made the lift useless. I'm curious as to how you can activate it while standing on it, as you're apparently supposed to. Also, are you meant to ram the laser cube until it points up, or is there another way?
All in all, very nice, both as a puzzle and aesthetically. Thanks!
Andi  [author] 16 Jan, 2014 @ 1:40pm
Thanks, I'm GLaD you enjoyed it.
FrostGiant 16 Jan, 2014 @ 3:30am
I got stuck a bit in this map but finally finished now :) It was beautiful map and nice fun to figure out :p2cube:
Andi  [author] 15 Jan, 2014 @ 9:27am
I never that of reaching the button that way, brilliant. GLaD you liked it and thanks for playing.
Kizzycocoa 14 Jan, 2014 @ 5:19pm
...Overall, while it was an enjoyable challenge, I muddled through it a bit due to lack of direction. However, use of the slightly-slanted roof piston, and the lasers, were very well done, and I do reccomend this map, if only for that challenge.

That, or I've not been portalling enough lately.

Sorry my review is late!

PS: the cube laser part is meant to do this, right?

Somewhat muddling, yet good map.

My main issues was lack of association, and direction. I walked in, not knowing where to start.

I think I actually skipped the first puzzle. I used the long fall to catapult myself to the button, where the lift was.
rearranging the energy cube was a MASSIVE pain. I finally did it though, after a long while of playing headbutt-the-cube.
the shortcuts that open are also placed really oddly. I get, you want to preserve symmetry, but it really confused me. particularly at the stage when you finally have the cube pointing up. I think it'd be better to have a translucent side-piston blocking that area, not a solid wall.
...
Andi  [author] 13 Jan, 2014 @ 1:31pm
You're welcome, thanks for playing.
Frikkels 13 Jan, 2014 @ 11:08am
WOW that was the most amasing map i have ever played it took me so long it to get right haha. Thank you for the challenge.
Andi  [author] 12 Jan, 2014 @ 4:22pm
Thank you all very much for the comments.

@brunoais The main idea took me about 3 or 4 hours to make. It took me about 2 or 3 months to polish up and finish it off.
Honest_Cake 12 Jan, 2014 @ 12:39pm
Wow, what a great test!

Really, the main part of the test, with the cube button and all, didn't really take me long to understand, but for some reason I just couldn't find a way to get to the button that deactivates the lasers near the exit. I think I spent over an hour trying to get that part, and when I finally got it I facepalmed reeeeeeal hard. After that the rest came smoothly...

Oh, and I found the Companion Cube :)
hedare 12 Jan, 2014 @ 3:09am
Amazing! I hope I come to this level of mapdesign.
brunoais 12 Jan, 2014 @ 12:56am
Nice work. This was HARD! The problem is that I had to use mechanics that we was not taught in the main game. Just because of that, this map is difficult. It is also my 2nd community map so there may be a lot more like this.
What's new here is:
The cube turning mechanic. Using the re-requesting cube system as part of the playing and not as a "try again". Tight "weird" angles with the laser redirecting cube.

Good work there, m8.
Just curious, though... How long did you take to make this map?
Andi  [author] 11 Jan, 2014 @ 5:38pm
Thanks for the comments.

@jeffreyfam7 I assure you it can be done. I can post a video if you like.
Academic Dark Shonen Trap 11 Jan, 2014 @ 4:57pm

Nice map

I just played it. It took a long time to solve. Well built and fun to do though.

unbelievable!!!
Critscare 10 Jan, 2014 @ 7:26pm
I really had to think about the cube room for about 20 min. Nice puzzle though personally I liked every part of it well maybe not the part where I had to orient the cube I spent about an hour just staring at my computer, thanks. 9/10
Andi  [author] 10 Jan, 2014 @ 9:09am
Thank you for the comments, I'm happy to hear you all liked it.

@Skyferret, I agree, orientating the cube is tough but I had to do it this way. To do it any other way would make it too easy and I can't do that.
