A little buggy in the beginning but fun to play around with.

Playable if you don't care to see an ending in 2021. A huge effort by one person, full to the brim with unique and unusual ideas, and unfortunately no fun at all. Balance is shit, there's no clear reason why the player character is even there since every NPC friendly and enemy completely outclasses them, most of the classes aren't functional, and Charisma is totally worthless. Heartbreaking how much potential this has and how much it is squandered. I can find a thousand things to compliment, from the use of loading screens to do SFX to the distinct writing voice (even if I don't like what it has to say), but at the end of the day... I spent hours trying to find some joy and left frustrated and bitter. The most annoying part for me personally was constantly being called "boy," particularly bad when I was playing a black woman decker. Accidentally very racist.

Stuck in SaveOnSecurity; every time I try to go downstairs, I end up back upstairs.

And then there's the matrix... which does nothing but hang when I enter the portal marked internet OR if it does work and then proceed to start me off at full alarm state (despite being at Night securities with supposedly low connection).

I give up, this is way too buggy to be playable.

sooooo buggy.. Save on security... Cleared the base, got the key... and i cant take over the base computer. and going back down a level triggers the guard spawn again.

discoutns do not work at all. every single time I try the 10% discount, the actual runner daily rate INCREASES by 1.5-2x...

I had that symptom on v 106. Solution on my machine: Save the game in that screen, then reload that save.

This is quite annoying to play with a female character. Why even bother on offering the "male/female" options when choosing classes at the beginning of the game if everything is written assuming not only that you're a man but a very VERY testosteronic one. What a pity for a game like Shadowrun, working quite hard on being inclusive.

The number of bugs make this mod hard to like. I did enjoy it enough to try to beat it, but even after taking over all the bases the last encounter doesn't become available.

The matrix is a let down. Too much randomness and a chance to get slapped with 'falling off the net', wasted load screen time which seems like punishment for daring to use the matrix. It would be nice if you could actually do something in the matrix other than hope you find a store with items you want and a solo job for a few creds.

Thanks for the effort, I appreciate the time you put into this. It is unfortunate that the bugs are so insidious.

I really wanted to like this, but there are too many imbalances and performance issues.
I played through and found a base I hadn't been too. Once I defeated everyone, I found the base key but could not take control of the base. I also never exited combat mode. When I went back downstairs, the area had basically reset and I had to go through it all over again. I still couldn't take control of the base.

If this ever gets updated, I may try it again.

owlman -=> thanks man. Did you find the chessman? He can sell some spells and give special totems. Also note there are 2 important spells when you first go to the cemetry, explore to the right.

Terronidus -=> Yes. Not very quickly, but I'm going to be working on this for a while yet. Huge technical problems, moving apartments and starting a new job took a lot a time away, but I'm committed to getting this game to be awesome.

Blackdeath3 -=> I'm going to make some videos. I should have done this from the start. For me, I don't have much difficulty, but that's because I know the game so well. I realize for most new players it must be 'like w.t.f' . All I can say currently is set the game to easy if you want, and don't attack your first base until you have a full roster of good runners.

Walk to the exit zone, top right along corridor past chang, after you lrave the map it;ll be green area next time.

How the hell do I leave the opium den in the very beginning? All I can do is just screw around on the base computer, but I can't find an exit or ANYTHING else to do.

What the drek chummer ? It's not like i'd thought every run would be a milk run but there it's nigh impossible to start !

Seriuosly I've tried 4 different missions and I my team was wipped every time, not because I'm playing badly, just that there are too many ennemies, all stronger than you and ther's little you can do when you start. What is more, when I tried to connect to the matrix, my avatar disapeared and nothing happened, I was stuck...

You should seriously think of a starting guide, beginers mission pack or something because right now this mod sucks. It seems to kinda have potential at higher levels though.

Great job polishing the edges. The steep drop in load times really improves the whole experieince, as do the key pick up fixes in Save on Security and the Labs.

The most original UGC out there, and probably in the top 5 for me.

Wouldn't mind a few summon points for shaman, or not relying on the random matrix to find better weapons/spells/armor

matthew -=> Yes in about 2 weeks or so, I will be making both vanilla and DF builds. Then I'm going to make the dependency free build for Nexus, and then I'm gonna try to hack it on to tablets, though this does look like this is impossible by design. nzguzzi -=> Well thanks for trying. I like my games hard so I made it so. Did you attack the bases with a full team of runners? You'll need to max out your runners to take on a base. Obv' 5 runners (yourself, 3 on your team, and Storm) will much more effectively take on a base than just 2 runners. As for any bugs, this game is as long as DragonFall and more complex, yet I'm just 1 man working on it in his spare time as opposed to 10/15 full-time dudes working on it, so,ya, well thanks anyways for the feedback, trying to make it perfect but it'll take time.

Places to visit need some kind of Karma level guide. No idea what the fuck to do in here or where to even start.
Instruction.... go kill 9 guys...... yeah ok
Visit zones and just get raped, wtf is the start area for new characters?
Are there random low level missions in here or is just every area full of auto machine gun high hitpoint noob killing rapists?
Have a noob guide or some shit at the help guide outside the first den.
There is nothing at all......... especially if you start as a ganger, you get all the locations at the start with no clue of wtf to do.

So i go into the matrix from the den computer ~ stuck, no way to leave
I go into internet, get put in some random room with an alarm and no way to jack out.
I get attacked by super high level enemy and booted, stuck no where to jack out or leave.

First impression ~ buggy and unplayable.

But the bright side is I committed to finishing this game completely and fixing all the bugs, but decided to wait until all the patches where done (because it just isn't teneable to have it break every time and have to fix it). I haven't worked on this much in a long while and now my frusturation levels have gone down enough that I'm picking it up again. Sorry though for your problems and bugs. It was working at one point! Hopefully the last patch has been the last. And I also will be try to hack together a tablet version as well, if it is at all possible.

Hi guys. Sorry for your troubles. Basically what has happened in the last while is stuff works for one version of the game, and then the game gets patched, and then it breaks Kill-City. I got super frusturated and put it aside. Stuff like the keys not dropping should be extremely simple to do in the editor but because of bugs take me like hours to figure out work arounds to get them to work, and then when the next patch comes out, something else breaks, and this is after spending over 700 hours making this game. Further making things difficult is I switched over to Linux at home and the Linux editor has an issue (can't use/find dependencies).

Matrix not working with black screen same as below @jlewis and @owlman , so had difficulties in 1st base but otherwise the mod looks fascinating.

Nvidia graphic card on PC windows 8 64bit intel core.

Really enjoyed this. Shadowrun in the Robocop universe? What's not to like.

The matrix not working is my only complaint. Had to limp through the whole thing with lvl 1 spells.

Certainly the most unique mod out there

Continued again: I get the black screen when I enter the Matrix at the 4 bases. first one you start with, Ninja base, Rollers base, and Night Ind Base. I could not check the other ones, since I could not get the Key Codes from them.

It seems like a nice UGC, and an interesting story.

Continued from reply below: I did find the guy to get a deck on my second run.

When I go to the bar, the bouncer says i cannot get in that room. Bouncer 2 lets me in for 25ny, but when I enter, the game locks up, and I cannot move, thus cannot hire runners, as i have to reload/rewind to get out of the bar.

Since I cannot hire runners, I have to run solo, which means to play, I have to use the cheats to heal, and gain a little extra AP to play the game, to even the odds.

Hello, I picked this UGC up yesterday, and have noted some issues, some that have already been noted.

I can only get the key drop on 3 of the bases: Ninja, Rollers, and Night Ind. The Bosses of the other Bases, do not drop Key Codes when I killed them. I started a second run, and have gotten 1/2 way thru, but Rollers and Night Ind, are the only two that I can take over, since the other bases will not drop Key Codes.

On the first run, I could not find a place to buy a deck, so started the second run with a Decker/Nerd, so I had a deck. I have not gotten there on the second run, and since I did not have a deck, I could not get into the one base that required a decker.

Some basic mage spells have also been added to the Chessman. So there are now 1 magic vendor at the bar, the chessman, the stones in the cemetry, Storm, and spell vendors in the Matrix.

Okay back to work on this. I'm going to make a bug free version come hell or high-beer (spilt beer on my PC a month ago and that was a set back). Okay answers.

Housellama -=> Spells: you can get a two basic shaman spells by the rocks off to the right when you first go to the cemetry. Also, you can get lightening from Storm. Vendors: one is randomly at the bar. If your guy says 'I'm having a deja vu' go to the upper right corner of the map. Their are another few magic vendors on the matrix that are randomly drawn. You can get Kill-City totems from the chessman.

so I just finished the kill bill mission and I'm stuck. Made it to the penthouse and fought bill the first time and got my backside handed too me right after clicking on the computer terminal. On the second go round I finished the mission but the computer is not accessable (click and nothing) and the mission exit will not allow me to transition out. Should I reload and start again?

It would seem that the cab driver is incapable of picking up new locations to go to (bought info off Sexy Maggie that said it unlocked a new location) and my runner doesn't follow me around. Any advice?

First off, good luck on your tests!

Great game so far. Here are the bugs that I encountered:
- Save-on, Recombinators, Fortuna444: No key codes are given or combat never ends when you clear any of these areas,
- Recombinators: I tried the Hackable entrance, but none of the enemies in the main room worked, they just stood around doing nothing; the crew in the second room (jail cells) worked fine though,
- I've haven't encountered the mid-storyline boss yet. I gotten the "inch-by-inch" message, but when I visited the area mentioned, it was just the same enemies that would've normally spawned there,
- No magic merchant?
- Recruiting: a) scouting reports don't seem to include info on all of the runners up for hire, there always seems to be one runner left out, b) sometimes a drone zips out of the room when I open the door and when I walk in, there is one less runner up for hire, and, c) are there any decent or good Lockpickers [30+])?

Diomedes -=> Slugging away. THanks for playing. Sorry for the bugs. Will get this game polished up in about 2 weeks when I can get back to working on it. Thanks for bug reports though, the game is too large and complex for 1 guy to find all the problems.

Joker -=> Some other folks have been having problems. I'm just need one more raw dependency files from one UGC creator -- I have the other 7 ugc raw files -- then I will be making a dependency free version which will fix this up and be more stable. Thanks for your post though, will check this UGC cited in particular and take it out of the package.

Lone star mission, I clear the first floor then go check out the garage. When I interact with the door, it teleports me outside and respawns all the enemies!

I clear the first floor AGAIN and go the second floor. Kill everyone, but the codes don't drop. I go back downstairs to look around.

It respawns all the enemies AGAIN.

You got some Flag problems, buddy.


As for the Church of Zuul, trying to Deck the electrified gateway told my Decking 3 character that there wasn't a Decker in the party. It then did 85 damage to me... which didn't actually affect my character at all?

Then one of my runners got teleported into the middle of the fight room and I ran through the gateway no problems. Mid-fight I'm told I've won control of the base!

At least after I killed everyone, I did, in fact, have control.

Diomedes -=> The new save system has been released to beta. You can update by right clicking on Shadowrun in your games library, going to propeties, then go to the beta tab and 'opt-in'. Guessing this should solve the save problems you had :)
