TF2 Resource Mounting Fix

I have TF2 mounted, and I think I don't have any conflicting addons.
InvalidVertex  [author] 1 Jul @ 11:02am
The only thing I could think that would be causing that would be some type of conflict or TF2 not being mounted, but other than that I have no clue, I'll have to look in to it some more
Torterra18 1 Jul @ 10:25am
I also just tried applying the fix manually, but it did nothing.
Torterra18 1 Jul @ 10:01am
It says the particle systems are missing despite it being fixed?
Torterra18 1 Jul @ 8:43am
So, the particles don't work when I use the Advanced Particle Controller, any clue what is happening?
Saturn's Ring 23 Jun @ 12:41am
First version of a TF2 mounting fix that's worked thus far without any form of issue on my end. Seriously, massive thank you! :demoticon:
InvalidVertex  [author] 31 May @ 2:53pm
I believe so, unless GMod changed how it's mounted games recently
Zesty FlopBot 31 May @ 1:49pm
is this still necessary?
InvalidVertex  [author] 10 Mar @ 5:57pm
Are you absolutely sure you don't have anything installed that could be causing conflicts? Because I just tested on several maps and the env_fire particle seems normal.

0/10 THIS BREAKS THE ENV FIRE PARTICLE
Snowy 1 Mar @ 7:32am
thanks a lot, it was conflicting with FF content
InvalidVertex  [author] 1 Mar @ 6:37am
That honestly sounds like you might have some conflicting textures installed somehow.
This wouldn't be able to fix that, but I'd check your downloads folder and other addons to see if you have anything in there that could be causing issues

Hello, my brother and i have some problems with the normal and HW Mercs' faces. Their facial textures are all messed up, probably for the same reason that made you make this addon : name conflict. The sniper's face for exemple is all bloody and the Medic got a medical mask on his cheek and neck, among other horrors. Can you fix it with this mod ? Thanks a lot for it by the way , it's very useful
InvalidVertex  [author] 11 Feb @ 1:27am
OK! Should be fixed now!
InvalidVertex  [author] 8 Feb @ 5:59am
Alright thanks, I'll see if I can figure out what's going on

Crustbowl a revamped dustbowl
InvalidVertex  [author] 7 Feb @ 9:40am
What map is that?
InvalidVertex  [author] 29 Jan @ 12:28pm
It should
crossoverking45 28 Jan @ 10:48pm
Those this thing work on workshop maps?
nylarant 22 Jan @ 8:21am
figured the cause for the shotgun issue: it was an addon that added weapons from the pre-fortress 2 mod. the author of it had forgotten to decompile the models and change the material paths, so it was always overwriting
InvalidVertex  [author] 4 Jan @ 1:43pm
@NextKurome76TheSoldier
I'd appreciate that
NextKurome76TheSoldier 3 Jan @ 8:39pm
i created an script that would fix all of the map sound scripts for TF2 maps, such as the train and its bell from well, the saw blades from sawmill and other sounds from nucleus, degrootkeep, doomsday etc...willing to hand that to you so it can be packed into this addon for convenience rather than making my own mod
nylarant 24 Nov, 2024 @ 10:00pm
i don't have any other ones, so i'm not sure what's causing it
InvalidVertex  [author] 24 Nov, 2024 @ 10:18am
Do you have any other TF2 fixing addons installed by any chance? Those could be causing issues.
nylarant 24 Nov, 2024 @ 1:14am
for some reason it seems to be applying the fix automatically on maps like gm_flatgrass and such, which makes the hl2 shotgun use the wrong texture
InvalidVertex  [author] 31 Aug, 2024 @ 7:07am
I can definitely look into it at the very least, I wasn't aware that was even a thing.
Though no guarantees I'll be able to fix it.
Lucky 27 Aug, 2024 @ 7:12am
do you think you could extend this to other mountable games? like the portal concrete texture being overwritten by hl2:ep2's
Piengineer12 22 Jun, 2024 @ 3:50am
Fix confirmed, thank you!
InvalidVertex  [author] 21 Jun, 2024 @ 3:07pm
Should be fixed now, looks like it was trying to add a nonexistent particle.
Piengineer12 20 Jun, 2024 @ 1:44pm
It seems that one map in particular, Pandemonium , is causing issues:

Seems I forgot to check if the map-specific particle manifest even EXISTS before trying to read it, should be fixed now!

I don't know why but since your last update I get this error when I log in to tf2 maps
InvalidVertex  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 7:39pm
Was running game.AddParticles() on the server side, not the client side.
Cosmq 19 Apr, 2024 @ 5:49pm
and by the way, what exactly was the problem?
Cosmq 19 Apr, 2024 @ 5:49pm
they work now
InvalidVertex  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 12:40pm
Alright, should be fixed
InvalidVertex  [author] 19 Apr, 2024 @ 11:19am
OK, I figured out what the issue was, but I'm going to do a bit more testing.
If all goes well there should be a patch in a few hours that fixes it.
Cosmq 18 Apr, 2024 @ 11:08am
well before, i used the TF2 mounting bug fix, and all of the unusuals >2021 work fine (which was around the time it was last updated)
InvalidVertex  [author] 17 Apr, 2024 @ 11:23am
Sorry I should have been a bit more clear. I was referring to the game's particle cache.
iirc there's a hard limit of 4096 particles (not files themselves, individual particles within the .pcf files), if that's reached then the game won't load any more, it's hard-coded so I can't do much about that. Though considering you deleted your addons and still got the error that suggests something else is going on. I'm still trying to figure out what could be causing it
Cosmq 17 Apr, 2024 @ 10:59am
and i forgot to mention it gave me another error with the other one: "attempted to create unknown particle system"
Cosmq 17 Apr, 2024 @ 10:52am
so what i did was: i deleted my cache and that didn't work, then i deleted all of my other addons and that also didn't work.
InvalidVertex  [author] 17 Apr, 2024 @ 6:39am
@Cosmq It seems to be loading them on my end, but it's possible that it's just cached too many and can't load anymore
@Sage Grim Should be fixed now, seems like I forgot to include a few entities in the texture scan
Sage Grim 16 Apr, 2024 @ 8:18pm
The addon works great, but there is a issue i found on the map pl_cashworks.
In the final gold room the office window has a broken texture. I didn't find this issue on any other maps and have disabled every other addon i have, even using tf_applyfixup.

Might just be on my side though and it isn't a huge issue for myself.
Cosmq 16 Apr, 2024 @ 10:15am
alot of unusual effects don't work, all i get is "attempted to precache unknown particle system (particle name here)!"
InvalidVertex  [author] 29 Mar, 2024 @ 4:25am
It is possible that an addon is conflicting. I'd advise to try disabling all addons but this one, then slowly re-enabling them until the issue starts appearing again. That's probably the easiest way to see what might be causing it.
crossoverking45 28 Mar, 2024 @ 8:01pm
mabye i downloaded to many addons
crossoverking45 27 Mar, 2024 @ 7:40pm
it didn't work
InvalidVertex  [author] 27 Mar, 2024 @ 12:06pm
Things seem to be working on my end, for some reason it seems like it might not have applied to those textures for you. Does running "tf_applyfixup" in the console do anything?
