I tweaked Dragonfly to make her a better boss to fight and more fit for multiplayer. The three major changes I made were increasing her health, reducing her attack range slightly, and making so that she doesn't leave when she kills the player.
The health change is obvious. All seasonal bosses had their health doubled in DST.
Her attack range was reduced slightly to make kiting her more reasonable, since she moves while attacking, which artificially increased her hit range. In DS, Dragonfly is coded as a ground entity, which means she can be blocked by objects with collision such as boulders or fire pits. Players would usually trap Dragonfly like this to prevent her from moving to easily kite her. In this mod, Dragonfly does is coded as a flying entity so she'll fly right over those obstacles.
In DS, Dragonfly would be sated if she killed the player, and then leave the world. I removed that feature since it makes less sense in a multiplayer setting.
Anyhow, I was specifically talking about the game picking a boss to spawn randomly near you every x-y minutes, like the original Endless Bosses Mod does.
Though of course, DST would have a larger pool than DS. Bee Queen, Toad, Shadow Chess, Malbatross, etc. Ofc Toad and other raids need a big hp nerf and shadow chess would need one as well.
Though having a more frequent boss attack around 2-4 days (around 12-24 minutes) seems reasonable enough.
Though if this is going to be a thing Dfly prob shouldn't be a part of the boss pool on higher frequencies, since she can't be kited unless with cane/paths, meaning you basically need armor to fight her every time, and having 2-4 log suits every two days for a potential dfly would not be too fun. Though you could argue this for Shadow Chess as well, so I suppose you could replace them with Cave Stalker instead.
The Summer Dragonfly is a non-raid boss variant that's mechanically similar to the single player variant. It has 5500 health and will attempt to burn structures and plants by spitting lava on them.
I was considering adding a config option that would cause giants to attack more frequently, but I figured players could just set all the Giants to Lots. I could add a config option beyond Lots that would set all Giant attacks to beyond Lots and attack like every 2-4 days, along with an option to nerf boss loot if people are interested.
Also do you think you could use this code in a way to port the Endless Bosses mod into DST?
