I'm still searching why planar damage isn't applied.
The code is a bit wonky so i'm not surprised there's some other incompatibilities.
About atrocity, I tried to make it in the past but that's a bit too difficult for me. I'm not sure if i'll update the mod, but i'll fix bugs at least.

You can do the same with a poison dose and the dagger.
When it reaches 0%, it's supposed to unequip itself and cannot be equipped until it's refueled.
Maybe another mod don't allow items to unequip that way?
And I've kinda fixed another bug, the last ammo of the cannon dealing only five damage (Maple's fists damage) to secondary targets.
To be precise, at the beginning, every single hit on every mob caused a new laser to spawn, crashing the game.
So I've put a 0.7 second trigger cooldown to calm things down. If i increase it, it will be higher than the cannon attack speed.
But the laser takes more than 0.7 seconds to travel to 20 units of distance, spawning a new laser.
So to fix that, I had to set the range to 15 and make that mob at 18+ distance from Maple won't trigger the laser.
But I like to shoot a lot of lasers everywhere too.
Then let's make it configurable!
I wonder if that's a good idea?
It might still happen in very rare scenarios tho
Also the update right now fixes an uncompatibility with Maxwell and allows to craft the shield again, just in case it has been lost (you won't get more devour charges by crafting multiple shields)
