Update:
- Favourite terrain on starting is now Arcadian and Barren
- Icons updated with new BG's
- Journal text colourised for easier reading

@Wolfie, I'm sorry if this has been asked before but every time I play in my Galactic Empire as a Hopper lord, i always spawn in a field of pure fungal or arctic and have heavy happiness penalties from it. I've restarted 10 times and every single time I keep getting this. Is this by design?

@Wolfie - Hey, can the Hopper icons be set to the same as the vanilla factions and your other modded faction? The Black box behind the Hopper units, compared to the blue vanilla one on the icons on the overworld map, looks like it's a bug. I thought it was all modded units, but your other factions don't have that and have the vanilla background,

It's a small change, but it would make a big difference in the game to have everything in line. Hope you are well too, keen to see what you bring to AOw 4 (:

Update 1 : i can play longer turn with activate only this mod and Nexus, i deleted the other mods.

Booted up Planetfall for some sci-fi vibes today, I've said it before but you made some great mods for the game, I was just curious if you intend on making a hopper-like fantasy faction for AOW4? It would be really neat concept.

I'll have a look at this around Christmas when i have time off, i think i did that intentional (black backgrounds) because of the image glitch with some of the other units i had with the Brood rider and flyer. I had intended to put all modding on hold until devs finish up AOW4 and then fire both up (as ill be copying alot of stuff from this game and my mods here across to the mod i was working on for the new game)

Like in the screenshot for the mod, the Hopper Purifier image, at the bottom of the screen, I mean for unit icons on the overworld map, apologies for the confusing description.

@ Wolfie, sorry my last response was wrong, I see what you mean, just all the Hopper faction Unit icons have the black background box behind the Unit image as in the screenshots, all your other mods have the standard blue background like vanilla factions do, so the black boxes catch the eye like its a bug as it really stands out, will that get updated if this mod is still open for awhile longer?

Really enjoy sinking time into your mods!

@Atenvardo yeah from memory the captured screenshots seems to bug out for the amazon rider (brood warrior) i'm not sure why, other units like the eggs/bunkers are actually particles which dont show up as a icon so they all have pre-made icons

Just noticed the black boxes are also in the screenshots, just a little immersion thing from vanilla and other factions.

@Wolfie - Not sure on my end, but unit icons for hoppers on the world map when selecting and army have black backgrounds, not the Blue Digital look to them, not sure if a bug or intended as your other mods the icons are like the Vanilla factions. Awesome mods either way

Drop ship in colonial guard is cheep T2 unit in the latest version. but it has actually T3 performance. you can check with cheat (Masterskills, philips, rembrandt).

I havent played PF in probably 6 months or more with AOW4 so close at hand and modding it will likely be on the agenda.

Most changes are a product of player input as much as mine these days though i'm happy to do any list of suggested changes.

Drop Ship should be a tier 4 with a laser attack from memory (using the same ones as the naval ships) i can curb the damage however

Observation Helicopter was later on in an update given an attack due to demand which might of made them much stronger. Any list of changes drop them here and i can have a look.

But for my own part at least for some time i wont be doing much testing

can you give total stat adjustment to colonial gurad? dropship is even stronger than t3 units. attack chopper is weaker than light observation helicopter. balance of all units need some adjustment.

Firstly how exciting! secondly your on the right track, ive made 4 races and every time i run into the same issue as i keep forgetting.
Esnure you make a rpk which have your racial spawnsets SpawnSets_Strategic.rpk, located
\common\Age of Wonders Planetfall\Content\Title\Packs\Strategic
Just make your own one and copy everything thats your own racial variant

and in your colony_speciesXXX in the racial packs like \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders Planetfall\Mods\ColonialGuard\Packs\Species_ColonialGuard

Open this up, go to 'Entities' tab and under Catagories 'Camp - your race' you should have setup a AOW Structure: Outpost, click on its components and under SPAWNER_STATIC you add in your starting armies cat name like COLONIALGUARD_CITY_START_SPAWNETS

- Extra organs now correctly gives charge but also has been upgrade to the 'escalating' variant giving the mod a bit more oomph
- Tarragons no longer do extra damage
