tylerkohn 24 Jun, 2023 @ 8:44pm
after launching this map in the editor (the same thing happens when you load in a new game) I am given an error message and when I press ok, it just gived me another one, so that the only way to exit the game is by force-quitting.
the error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException]

are there any maps like this?
Greyflame  [author] 29 Jul, 2021 @ 10:51am
Hi Dizek, thank you so much! I think I got the height map from somewhere in the Dakotas, but I don't remember exactly. I had it in mind for anywhere in the Western states, like Idaho, Montana, N/S Dakota, Wyoming, etc. Douglas Fir would certainly be appropriate. I'm slowly working on an updated version of the map using my Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pines. I'm not sure when that will be out - but yeah Douglas Fir would be very realistic!

@Greyflame Hello! Thanks for this amazing map. I've just tried it out and it looks absolutely stunning. I have a few questions tho if u don't mind answering. I kinda wanna swap the regular pines and Lost Gecko's generic trees with your new smexy trees but can't decide which one should I use. I was thinking about replacing generic trees with evergreen trees by pdelmo and regular pines with douglas fir but I don't really know if it would be realistic for this landscape. So my question is which state is Greenway based on and which trees of yours would be the best fit for this map?
Greyflame  [author] 18 Mar, 2021 @ 8:17pm
@Overlord - If I understand your question correctly, no assets (tracks, props, etc) from Railway Mod are used in this map - the rails are from "North American Rail", and the Railway *mod* would just be used for switching out tracks in the stations.

If you want to avoid any confusion, there's an updated version of this map called "Greenway 2020 Revised" in my map collection, and it just comes with the vanilla rails.
Overlord 17 Mar, 2021 @ 4:57am
Hello Greyflame. This map looks great and I would to try it but first I would like to ask you one question related to rails. I understand that railway mod is not needed but recommended. Though these rails look like rails from railway mod (in terms of variations, texture quality node/nodeless)? Or is it set of tracks which is not influenced by railway mod in any area? I saw few rails which are something like a DLC for railway mod but I dont see that here. Thanks for clarification.

@Ragnor - the Bonita Vista Valley map isn't actually a requirement of the LUT, or vice versa. The prerequisites are just things listed by the creator and may or may not be truly required. Likewise, you don't actually need the Bonita Vista Valley LUT for this map, it's just the one I recommend. You can dowload any other LUT or even use a vanilla LUT. The trees are also technically optional, since it won't break your game if you don't have them, you'll just be missing some trees if you skip them.
Ragnor 18 Feb, 2021 @ 4:20pm
Massive problem in the prerequisites: I need the Buena Vista Colour Correction, yet for that I need the Buena Vista Map as a prerequisite which in turn demands the Colour Correction. It's unfortunately a massive loop that prevents at this point downloading the map if you don't have those already.

thank you
Bert Bertsonson 19 Jan, 2021 @ 11:30pm
This is such a beautiful map, well done :-)

This is easily my favourite map. I love the challenge of trying to create a realistic but well functioning city within the confines of the greenspace and the landscaping is just perfect for creating neighbourhoods that aren't just flat grids. Thanks for this gem!!
frapigecko 20 Oct, 2020 @ 8:43am
please more! :-)

@greyflame OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Just found this map. Awesome starting layout. I have only recently started playing CS and this map is helping me so much and it’s just stunning. Thank you!!
Greyflame  [author] 1 Sep, 2020 @ 1:05pm
Alright y'all, I released a version without DLC or NAR!
Greyflame  [author] 31 Aug, 2020 @ 11:10am
Haha okaaaay I really didn't anticipate this map revision being as popular as it has been, I've had enough requests now to sway me, I'll try and do a more-vanilla-network version here soon.
sophisticated.flow 31 Aug, 2020 @ 11:03am
@Greyflame hey! I was wondering if there is any possibility of you uploading this without NAR? Like Flippityfloo mentioned, for some reason the NAR makes my game lag ridiculously even with the load screen mod. I would really like to install this map, it's quite beautiful but I understand if you do not wish to, just wanting to ask anyway.
MrMiyagi 21 Aug, 2020 @ 8:03am
Amazing work! :lunar2020hearteyesrabbit:
Lambda_Material Ecology 21 Aug, 2020 @ 4:41am
This map is highly inspirative ! Thanks ! I will probably made my own map inspired by it ; Greenway felt like : -"Ok buddy's, the world is colapsing.. so, we are gonna make utopian Oasis city into the desert, everything 'll be fine"
Greyflame  [author] 13 Aug, 2020 @ 7:14pm
@re_d0 I can't say for sure if it will crash but it will definitely be missing all of the highways at least.
redo 10 Aug, 2020 @ 10:09pm
@Greyflame will this map crash if i load it without mass transit? i have no dlc and i really wanted to build a cool city here.
sophisticated.flow 4 Aug, 2020 @ 3:08pm
@flippityfloo, would you be willing to upload that version? I wanted to play with this map but like you, the NAR made my game so laggy it was taking 15-20 minutes to finally load.
pieuponieu 3 Aug, 2020 @ 7:15pm
This map is lovely. I had to make a version for myself that doesn't use NAR, because NAR was causing my game to lag terribly (and I have 32mb of RAM). But no matter, this map is helping me get back into playing this game after a long time away. Thank you.
Otaner 27 Jul, 2020 @ 6:51am
Any chance having a no roads version? :P
Greyflame  [author] 23 Jul, 2020 @ 10:30am
That's really bizarre x_x I'll keep thinking but that's all I can come up with. Best I can recommend after that is unsubbing mods one by one and seeing if one is responsible but I can't think of any others that might be. I'm stumped >_<
Gustas 22 Jul, 2020 @ 4:44am
not sure everything is ok with hide it but I don't see any natural resource textures no oil, fertile, ore texture. Also changed theme mixer did not help :/
Gustas 22 Jul, 2020 @ 3:48am
yes I do use hide it thx for finding im going to check if that resolves this issue.
Greyflame  [author] 21 Jul, 2020 @ 8:40pm
@Alecthem - Nice! I'm impressed how much city you're fitting in!

@Gustas - Hrm. My next guess is Hide It; do you use Hide It? It has a section under "Effects" for "Ore Area". If you have that active it will hide the ore texture.
Gustas 20 Jul, 2020 @ 4:02am
strange cannot manage to get the arid look got the LUT and the theme with disabled theme mixer. But the map is good it covered in ore.
Daxinem 18 Jul, 2020 @ 11:45pm
Really nice map regardless
Daxinem 18 Jul, 2020 @ 11:45pm
I figured as much. I just thought I'd ask.
Greyflame  [author] 18 Jul, 2020 @ 11:40pm
@Daxinem - I don't think it'd be worth the workshop upload for a change like that, but I can recommend loading the map into the map editor where you can pretty easily select and delete the grid and re-save the map for your use.
Daxinem 18 Jul, 2020 @ 11:35pm
Would you be able to release a version without the prelaid grids?
Greyflame  [author] 18 Jul, 2020 @ 7:12pm
@Exothermic - Thanks ^_^ My TouTube is on hiatus and I have my videos unlisted for a variety of reasons right now, it should hopefully be pretty obvious when it returns. And I do intend for it to return!
exothermic 18 Jul, 2020 @ 6:55pm
ps.. i can't find your youtube link,..
exothermic 18 Jul, 2020 @ 6:45pm
oh yeah this looks nice. Now I want to do a side project from my current long run project.
Greyflame  [author] 18 Jul, 2020 @ 5:57pm
@Ozzyski - I've never seen an error quite like that, but I don't think it's specific to the map. A quick search on my part suggests it might be related to your GPU but I'm not certain.

@Gustas - I'm not sure what that could be if it's not the theme, unfortunately. The arid looking areas are painted in with the mineral resource and should be brown with the Homecoming theme. Make sure you don't have Theme Mixer active, but if it's not that, it might be worth trying some other themes and seeing if that illuminates anything.

Thanks everyone!
p3W73r 17 Jul, 2020 @ 10:01am
@Gustas Read the description. Screenshots are taken with the Bonita Vista Valley LUT.
Gustas 16 Jul, 2020 @ 11:25am
I don't get the arid look all map is green for me which ruins the effect. Looked around the map and didn't find any sand. Is something wrong with loading ? using the needed theme SCT homecoming
Alecthelm 15 Jul, 2020 @ 6:06am
geilomatico! just did an town on the first one,,, hey great, thx!
girlfromverona 15 Jul, 2020 @ 12:55am
Loaded fine for me last night and looks fantastic! Thanks again.
Ozzyski 14 Jul, 2020 @ 3:17pm
@Greyflame - I tried 3 times to load your map, and successfully loaded on the 3rd; BEAUTIFUL map! I reeally want to play it!
The error message I received was "2020-07-14_145238 next to game executable."
Greyflame  [author] 13 Jul, 2020 @ 3:08pm
Thanks guys! :D

@Chiodo - Are you getting any particular error messages? Not sure what might be causing problems unless you're just over your RAM capacity.
Keldagrim 13 Jul, 2020 @ 1:36pm
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one!
Chiodo 13 Jul, 2020 @ 7:21am
Map looks incredible but crashes constantly for me.
A-L-E-K 13 Jul, 2020 @ 4:09am
looks great, bookmarking for next build
