As in 1.X going to Space is a bit more dangerous than before, maybe you could leave this removed by default and a room for it to be added later instead? (e.g. "R" mark in the floor) All the other materials could be purchased or salvaged.
I'll give you 9/10 for this awesome design (pending the evil Repair Station removal).
Dubrovnik Dynamics - Making you show off big d*ck in your neighborhood since 2423.
I about died laughing, on my read through. You sir, deserve 1 Thumb's up, for that line alone. I do, of course hope your "Product" lives up to all this "Hype". (Don't worry, I'll edit this comment after I get a chance to use this in my present play through.)
@Cik: I guess meanwhile you have figured out that the fuel tanks are located in three different spots.
@bfreebody: As a matching SV for this starter CV I would recommend the SLV Beethoven, as shown in the screenshots. But the hangar is roomy enough for hosting bigger SVs too.
None-the-less, keep us updated on what else you are working on, and what we might consider changing with this craft, etc.
And thank you, Astrée also for the cool detailed feedback! :-)
I could easily put inside my ranger SV, wood HV and forager HV, and there is room for a 4th one I think.
I quickly added the warp, soon going to visit my solar system. Then added a T3 constructor to craft the growing plants. Then upgraded storage. I also added 2 small wall guns on rear to protect me from wild animals or aliens when going outside by foot. Yes, a door giving outside directly from the cockpit would be top, I think I'll add it somewhere in the floor.
Now starting to harvest, and to visit the relics with my new mother ship, to find zascosium and erestrum
I will promise that on any next starter build of mine there will not be needed any Zascosium or Erestrum. :)
@ecjay: yeah, I've of course. The thing is that I could probably release 20 different versions of that ship, coz there will be people who want a starter with most things ready without being forced to mess around with adding this and that to the ship. Then there are people who want a starter, complete equipped but without a warp drive but with more grow plots. Then others want this or that. You get the point ;)
My goal was to release a starter that has almost everything built in that a TIER 1 could offer. I failed with the Zascosium / Erestrum thing though. Lesson learned. :)
I agree with @Nightsinger and @Alex. I started a new game, had to roam all aroung on the planet, the moon and space, and can't get enough zascosium and erestrum. I'm going to log this evening in creative to downgrade it a bit. Yes, it's intended to be unlocked at L10, it would be perfect to just have a screen telling "this place is reserved for future add of ... (add the equipment name)"
Ah, it wasn't that easy for me. I went into creative, and stared at devices tab like 5 minutes "ok, so which of those was costing zascosium and erestrum?" :P
Anyway, adding them beforehand, or leaving spots and some LCD informations for upgrading the ship later, it's a design choice, which I respect.
Thanks for the nice CV again :)
I was expecting that those components could be salvaged out of wreckages and POIs. Another thought was that before you would obtain a CV you'd already have a SV to explore nearby other worlds.
If I now remove the repair station and the medic devices from the ship, other people might complain about missing them now, lol.
I always hope that people who really need a cheap starter CV read the material costs in the discription first before downloading the vessel.
You can always load the ship into a creative game, and remove those more expensive devices yourself, and then spawn it in your survival game.
Once again, thank you for the informations! I haven't had much time to do a full A12 playthrough myself yet. Im looking forward to start a game by tomorrow.
Medical services could be upgrades as well, to lower the cost more.
I really liked the curved and relaxing interior design. Some "engineering access" lifts could be added to provide easy access to upgradeable parts of the ship. (holographic screen deco on right, medical station on left, there can be 2 lifts going up to give access to those parts)
Overall, it's great
13 zascosium ingot and 13 Erestrum ingot
to obtain this, i need a CV to warp to another system, or assault some base and hope i will find some, perhaps remove the repair station?
@Fury Fairy: Yeah, I probably haven't thought about that some people build or modify their vessels in survival mode and not in creative mode. For example: if somone would like to adda shield generator to the marked area I should have had installed a door instead of just enclosing the area all with windows. Sorry. :D
If you want to replace thrusters, then you will have to remove them with your multitool of course.
However, noob's question / problem: I spawned your beauty in creative to get a feeling, and while you have clear instructions on T2 upgrade recommendations... it's still unclear for me HOW to access those spots for mentioned devices - OR I should just dismantle blocks for access these areas, and then put them back again? Thanks!
@Dud: now that you mention it, yes, haha.
