Hello ! Could we get an update please ? :D

Thanks! I don't know why CA didn't use the code of hound handlers in previous games for such units, or implement something like my mod. Probably for performance and assets to produce, but it is sad nonetheless.

This unity always bugged me without knowing why. Now I know why, that's a cool improvement!

Only the player can recruit the unit now, as it is separate from the basic squig herd that the AI can still recruit.

Thank you for the information Cataph! That's really bad news :(
Cataph 21 Jul, 2020 @ 2:23pm
Yo, there's an old issue with using more than the sanctioned 2 officers and that's a crash if the unit is used by the AI. Something something musician and/or standard bearer, can't recall, anyway not safe. I know, an old headache.

Lol yeah I was just joking. Would need some fucky casting animations + somehow making the animation target the herders. A passive ability that does AoE damage to everyone is the next best thing.

I tried to implement the tabletop rule "Squigs gone wild" with the herders, but the flag officer_dead doesn't seem to work. I made a new ability "Squigs really gone wild!" that damages friend and foes around when morale is shattering. It can be fun and dangerous. Tell me what you think about it.
Grim  [author] 20 Jul, 2020 @ 12:40pm
Lol no, I wouldn't know how to do that.
scribeuntitled 20 Jul, 2020 @ 12:15pm
Herders are nice and all, but do the squigs eat the herders on miscasts?
Grim  [author] 20 Jul, 2020 @ 11:20am
Nice catch, they have, indeed! I thought only Skarsnik had one and his was a bit too ornemented. I changed to the warboss' ones.
Arideer 20 Jul, 2020 @ 7:41am
the night goblin warbosses have actual prodders iirc, it would look better then the huge orc lance

This looks awesome! Can you also make a similar mode for Rat-ogres? These aboms are not supposed to obey orders by their own
Kubloo 19 Jul, 2020 @ 8:22pm
This is so adorable!!! Love the Cymbal players! So creative!
Z-Bane 19 Jul, 2020 @ 12:08pm
I linked your mod to sfo. I hope you and sfo can move towards each other and become compatible. That would be a pleasure for me. I hope that is okay for you?
Z-Bane 19 Jul, 2020 @ 11:58am
this is awesome. i play sfo atm but in my next GS campaign, i want to play with this mod. Very good job sir!
Grim  [author] 18 Jul, 2020 @ 4:58pm
Yes I'm using the officer system and adding 6 of them (in the back), simple. No crashes up to now. Tell me if otherwise.
Flying Fox 18 Jul, 2020 @ 4:01pm
You're using the officer system? I thought you couldn't add more than one or two officers before crashing. How did you make this work?
GoatScream 18 Jul, 2020 @ 1:54pm
Sfo mostly changes the balance and stats of every unit; this would make the herd quite unbalances against the other units, as in, they'd die easily
Driss 18 Jul, 2020 @ 1:54pm
@Grim I love the idea of the symbol players, and the way you have included them is very creative. But without proper animations I just feel they detract.
Grim  [author] 18 Jul, 2020 @ 1:53pm
I don't know if it's SFO compatible, as i don't know what SFO changes exactly. It's balanced, yes, as the herders have similar stats as the squigs, mostly.
GoatScream 18 Jul, 2020 @ 1:14pm
Is this compatible with SFO? As in, is it balanced?
Grim  [author] 18 Jul, 2020 @ 10:26am
Only spears then? Anyone else want them out?
Driss 18 Jul, 2020 @ 1:33am
I would drop the symbol players. They stand out in an otherwise quality mod.
Grim  [author] 18 Jul, 2020 @ 1:08am
Yes, the herders are technically officers, and i modified the base unit. So if you are using a mod messing with them, there will be conflict, sadly
Varsocona 17 Jul, 2020 @ 6:39pm
I'm having some sort of a conflict, sadly. The herders just will not appear, in my saved game or even a new one. I think it is CTT (Closer To Tabletop overhaul) that may be the issue, as it doesn't work with officer mods. I'm not certain, testing it is difficult since toggling CTT doesn't really work (Just crashes, needs to be uninstalled to test and I need it for a campaign I'm playing.) I'm guessing you used a similar modding strategy as the officer mods, which is why it isn't compatible.
Varsocona 17 Jul, 2020 @ 1:15pm
Thank you for the quick reply! I'll check this out tonight. I played Greenskins and Lizardmen in Tabletop, and the lack of herders in this game always bugged me. I appreciate you, someone with talent, stepping up to try and combat this problem!
Grim  [author] 17 Jul, 2020 @ 1:00pm
@Varsocona : It should be save compatible. It only changes the current unit without much colateral damage. Have a try on a dummy save if you want to be safe.
I can't promise anything for the salamanders. Maybe one day I'll do it. Now that I know how to do it, it's feasable.
Varsocona 17 Jul, 2020 @ 12:55pm
I was looking for a mod that did this just the other day!! I'm excited to try it, is it save game compatible? And any plans to do Skink herders for the Salamanders?
Ciaphas Cain 17 Jul, 2020 @ 12:28pm
Very nice, I'll have to have a go next GS campaign!
Grim  [author] 17 Jul, 2020 @ 11:59am
Oh, thank you ;)
Orkfæller 17 Jul, 2020 @ 11:35am
I love you.
