Iceland only produces around 30% of its electricity with geothermal, the other 70% are done with hydroelectric power.

Would be great if the heating plant had a direct water connection IMO. Currenly it's draining a nearby water substation, which is ineffective as it's clean water from a treatment plant. If the geotherm building allowed direct water connection, I could use less clean water like I do for industry.

There are spots for cranes.

Tunneling, rather drilling, would require special equipment not in the game

Probably should be added some vehicle slots during the construction phases because it looks like the plant is entirely built by hand. The tunneling phase might use excavators and cranes?

Captain_Pavlos, that is caused by one of many thigns: 1. You aren't providing both workers and engineers. 2. You aren't providing water (this limits production to like 10% IIRC). 3. Your power plant isn't properly connected to the energy grid. 4. You have no power demand.

@Zombie, Use 4 to 6 small buses / Vans with your regular transit setup, this will ensure that there is a steady supply of workers during those shift change times. and will keep the plant running.

Is there a way to ensure small power plants keep running? Sometimes workers all arrive at the same time and they all leave before a new batch of workers arrive to fill in for them causing periodic blackouts.

Hi,
i built the smal power plant, but it does not generate any power. At least the power gauge does not show any power being put out. The status says "operating normally" and is green, i see workers are there, but no power seems to be generated. Is there a trick to it, or do they only work for power as well if heating/winter is active in the save?

The numbers are low and in my experience, not too bad. IN real life they produce very little, and most of it is non-criteria. Unfortunately the game calculates emissions based on the steam, and there are not different kinds of pollution. One plant should mostly affect the up to 100 meters in my experience. The nuclear plant also releases a lot of pollution, but those don't pollute at all, at least not in the traditional sense. The heat can kill fish, so there are concerns of "thermal pollution."

You can remove the particles from the file and they will be pollution free.

Is it just me or do these plants generate rather a lot of pollution? From what I gather you do get a bit of SO2 from out-gassing from geothermal plants, but not much. ATM a large plant is enough to render the surrounding area unfit for habitation. Nice mod btw.

This mod is amazing! I was able to place a heating and a power plant within easy pedestrian access from the town, and so far after 5 years, no pollution! It's a true gift from the Party! Thank you very much!

I did some slight balancing and added the remaining 5 plants. That completes my geothermal pack.
