It would be nice to have a smaller version of this mod that lets us used Red Wood for torches and campfires, even if it took more Red Wood than regular wood. Ah well!

For those who went straight to the comments, there is a message at the top of the mod's description that states the following: "This mod is obsolete! Alpha Biomes materials now count as their vanilla counterparts, and this patch is not needed."

Thus, there will be no further updates of this mod.

No, because that modifies the BOW itself, which in vanilla is specified as needing wood. That's why all biomes in AB provide wood, even if in small quantities.

NOTE: Since latest Alpha Biomes update this patch is no longer needed, and will in fact not work at all! The way materials are handled has now changed radically

why can't i make red wood or rose quartz floor?? i'm stuck as i am playing in an ocular forest so my options for things are limited to red wood or rose quartz.

It would be great if the ideology specific flooring (i.e. Morbid/Totemic/Ocular Tile) could be added to the list of things you can make with Rose Quartz/Red Wood. The big floor reliefs work but not the flooring.

Can't find a log for it, and struggling to find the exact conflict, but with ideology and some various other mods, fungus darktorches are having a 20 wood cost added to them erroneously. I can get you as much information as possible on request.

The floor thing is kinda though, tho. I am on a map with only Rose Quartz and I cannot build any of the Imperial Monuments since they need the default floor tiles which contain no Quartz.

+1 on cant use alpha stone blocks for vanilla flooring or modded floors. Rose quartz in my case

Any idea why with this mod active it appears to prevent passive harvest on non-crop fields/native flora? I.e. you set a grow zone over the natural terrain but with no sow crop option and the pawns never harvest mature plants as they would in vanilla.

Floors require a new def for every material, they can't be stuffed, and this patch doesn't add defs for modded floors. It does contain added defs for some bridge mods.

I'm adding that to the description, it comes up a lot.

The more floors mod from telkir and the SZ floors don't seem to be working with these new materials. Any idea why?

Ahh that explains why the M2HB turret from defensive turrets needed wood to replace the barrels. Update also removed my ability to refuel anything with anything.

Fixed
These things can now be fueled with any wood: Campfires, torches, passive coolers, fueled stoves, wood fired generators, and braziers (royalty)
All other buildings are now left alone.

I'g getting the "needs fuel" icon on things like the robots from misc robots, and generators needing to be fueled with lumber when running with Simple Production Chains: Lumber.

Not sure how, but it seems today's change has caused Mend and Recycle's Mending Workbench to be refueled with wood rather than their specific mending kits.

Torches, campfires, and passive coolers can be made out of any wood.
Wood-fueled things can be fueled by any wood.

@Vakaria, Zverda- I think Alpha Biomes has some floors built in. Alternately, using this patch with Stuffed Floors will enable lots of floors for these stones!

@Drake- I'll take a look at it, not sure how Stackable Chunks works on the back end.

@meaningwhat- Probably solveable, yes. I'll look at torches and passive cooler too.

I don't see any options to make floors out of the Rose Quartz Stone and I'm a little sad about that... mostly because I have a LOT of it XD Is there just not an option or could it be something on my end?

Is it possible to use rose quartz and the other custom stones for flooring? I can't seem to find any real use for this but it seems like it should work. Thanks!

@test- They're actually separate material categories. AB_ExoticWood instead of woody, etc. This was done to prevent the AB materials from being used in ruins on map generation, and I think also to allow for things that are made only with the exotic materials. Vanilla Alpha Biomes includes a lot of built-in patches to allow compatibility with most vanilla stuff, as well as a bunch of popular mods.

It doesn't patch everything. I originally started making patches for all the items in all the less-popular mods that I use, but then realized that adding the vanilla category to the AB material was way faster and would work way better.

This mod patches the Alpha Biomes materials directly, it depends on how the bridges are set up. If they're coded to use any stone, you can build them with rose quartz. If they're coded to specifically use granite/ slate/ limestone, then no.

I use simply more bridges continued and can't use rose quartz to build the bridges with it? I take this mod doesn't cover that mod? I'm kind of screwed cause I can't build bridges with it and only have rose quartz on the map haha.
