I do use this in survival at the moment, and i love it! Perfect size, has everything i need, and i'm to lazy to build my own base :P Only thing i did was replacing the ammo controller with a ammo box to save CPU and cobalt. But i guess there is a chance that ammo box for base/CV can be removed in the future, same as they did to small ammo boxes. So i like the future proof thinking :)
Highly recommended as a first base! Lot of upgrading options and well though out. Awesome job!

Its meant for you to decide if you want more plots or not. Theres space for a repair bay and a t2 cpu block. Cobalt is the hangar door i think the cargo controllers. Thanks for the input!

I absolutely love this little base, but had a couple questions. Why only 12 grow plots? I moved the two floor cargo boxes closer to the door and can fit 18 spots for maximum grow efficiency. Is that floor space in front of the door meant for some other upgrade? And what besides the hanger door requires Cobalt?

I personally don't believe in solar in this game. It's not done logically at all. If you need to, you can add up to 11 more panels to up your solar input

mgwrites, I have place a toggle in the Signal side of the P menu called Power Save. If that's on then certain things will like the constructors will be offline. Toggle it Off to turn construction on. This is to save power. There is also a Defense Mode toggle. On is to enable the turrets

Like the shed for a starter base. However, seems to be having power problems. I have A12.3 and then updated to A12.3.1. Been playing EGS since 2016 so not a newbie, but new to the signals and circuits stuff.

I turn things off like constructors and shield and they magically turn back on (I'm just walking around in my base or I go to sleep for the night. I turned on all the cannon turrets and turned off the sentry guns, then I go back in to check later and the sentries are all on and one of the cannons is off.

Also, when I wake up after a snooze in my bunk bed, I seem to have no power. Not sure if the capacitors (they are active) are storing enough juice. My solar panels are green or yellow depending on the daytime weather.


Unfortunately, I'm just trying to get the base up and running so I only have biofuel, but I can make a lot.


Any ideas on how to make the power more manageable? Thanks!

Just checked it out, Hangar door accounts for 2 bars, 3 for the ammo controller just fyi. Still, excellent minimalist build as usual Xcal. I think you nailed it.

Oh, and I saw the new positions for the player mounted guns - I don't know if that is new for A12, but the orientation (giving them 180 deg coverage parallel to ground vs. up / down) makes it clear they are for clearing the trash (either the wild life or the Xirax troopers) that comes knocking on your door with pamphlets : )

Not going to lie - can't wait to build this in my ice world game. Great update / improvement over my Gritty modification. Spawned it in creative to take a look and saw a couple things you may want to check when you get a chance: 1) one turret (on roof) does not seem to be in the "defense" circuit (it is off when the others are one, when it first spawns, then seems to switch states if you use the "defense" pre-set. 2) For some reason the solar batteries are "off" when it spawns. Have no idea if that makes any difference, but it may cause issues with players thinking their solar does not work, since the battery never charges. Thanks again for a great toy to play with.
