@Rumpl4: the Animation doesn't work. The shilds an weapons lay on the ground. Would you like to Port your Mod to WH3 ;-)

i fixed everything but the animation problem as stated below they changed something with animations and thats one area which i dont know how to mod at the moment. sorry guys ill try again to mess with it in a little

it mod doesnt work properly the dwarfs stand closer togeather thats ok but they dont hold the shield infront of them

sadly this mod has stopped working in the recent patch its one of my favorite mods i use in my personal use mods for sfo ( i know sfo is disabled atm ) but i was gonna use this in vanilla to try out thorek. I am looking forward to the update of this mod thank you for creating it

it needed land_units for a very good reason, by removing it you've removed a degree of the mod

This is not SFO compatible. It breaks unit HP and other stats back to Vanilla values. For some reason the mod maker added the entire Vanilla land_units table. It's not needed. I deleted it and the mod works fine with SFO.

Hey, i'm currently playing my first campaign of Total War Warhammer, as the Dwarfs on Mortal Empires. I noticed that there was no option to form a shield wall in battle, which I think is a big missed opportunity. So I was excited when I found this mod.

Though I noticed that the in game mod manager says that this mod is outdated. Does this cause issues in gameplay or is it unnecessary to update this mod?

I agree the walk speed is a detriment, but well worth the double the deflection rate which cuts missile dps down to 30% from 65%.

As far as CDA and CDL goes, dwarf elites warriors already have it. I agree that basic dwarf warriors controlled by the AI is lacking, but basic dwarf warriors are still pretty good compared to an empire swordman.

Dwarfs received a lot of much needed helped in the last couple patches from CA too. Anyway, really good mod. I like what you have accomplished.

I disagree, it was when playing against the dwarfs that made me wanted to create this mob, dwarf warriors are garbage and I wanted them to have a staying power thatbwas reflected in their cost, not to mention the reduced MA and movement speed means they do virtually no dmg

This is a little too strong to be fun if you are not the dwarfs, also you want to incentivize turning it on and off so it's not a strait upgrade all the time. Reduce MD to +5. Remove Charge Defense.

Is it possible to make the units get closer to each other when they form this shield wall? It looks much better than vanilla of course, but they still look a bit too far apart for a proper shield wall.

Good Mod, gives the Dawi frontline some more stoppingpower! But you should NEVER activate the formation while on a wall, it instantly crashes the game for me. Keep up your good work mate!

I played this mod with sfo ,I found AI dwarf is too weak.The reason is some units have too little blood,So if you use this with sfo,I think it is no a good idea.If some man make sfo version,That's cool.

Hi, I don't have time to dig through an extensive mod list sorry, this.mod tweaks the unit animation so any mod that changes the unit settings will conflict with this mod

There is something conflicting with my mod list and if you interested in looking into it here is the KMM profile:

Its causing all the dwarves (longbeards) to t-pose (playing as kislev - used the rite that gives me an army of imperial and dwarven units) meaning they cant attack.

But I dont mind - dont feel pressured to do anything, when you load 100+ mods these things happen and I'm surprised that game runs as well as it does for me.
So I guess you can just ignore this if you dont care.
Because of that - I haven't looked into this further, but If you tell what you need I could do some test for you if you want

The standard bearer mod changes the unit type to accommodate the officer needed to carry the flag, its the same unit line that is used to change the animation so the two mods aren't compatible

Found the problem. The animation just doesn't work for me whenever i have "Standard Bearer" mod active. Not sure why, since they don't change the same elements (atleast to mu knowledge). Kinda sad, this mod looks awesome on the battlefield.

@Darkwolf, you don't need any additional mod to make this work, the ironbreakers do the animation and this is only supposed to be the front rank, its why its called shield wall

The dwarfs behind the front line don't raise shields. Have you thought about having them do the animation too? So as too make it look like they're bracing?

I finally figured out why this didn't work for me before. You need "Unit Formations" mod. by pressing the icon for Shield wall, then pressing the icon for shields up, the dwarfs move and place their shields upfront.

Please don't change any of the stats. It seems very well balanced on very hard battles from my tests.

A few critiques:
1, the dwarfs seem to have lost animations. They no longer use cheer animations and you've turned on synced locomotion.

2, you should change the invalid usage flags. I use this combination:
climbing
manning_equipment
on_a_platform

3, personally I feel that the ability is too much of a game changer. I feel formations should be used tactically and be more neiche. I think the shield wall should only provide minor bonuses like charge resistance (scalar_brace) and mayhaps a small percentage bonus in melee defence and cannot run status (which is refered to as positive on the mod at the moment for some reason.) I'd also remove charge reflector. Ultimately this formation would just make any basic dwarf warrior have charge reflector, which to me felt odd.
