Currently having an issue where the story teller does not change after having manually swapped them.
Any way to fix this?

i just tried spawning events in dev mode, it always changes, is there a way to make it an option so if it rolls the same it doesnt' change storyteller? that way we can basically have different frequencies for each storyteller

hey idk how to test this but is there anything to prevent the same storyteller being rolled again? or any way of making that?

cuz i want to somehow make it change very often, but 70% of the time to be cassandra

@rav afaik, switching storytellers does not reset any timers. Incidents are queued though, so you can get randyrandom like incident chains on cassandra if randy already queued those incidents to be fired.

Hello, do you know if the event timers reset on switching the storytelleror how exaclty does the game handle it?

Im just wondering if switching the storyteller constantly can cause problems, for example not getting any raids at all if it switches daily or like getting 3 raids in a row or some other funky stuff.
Especially between randy and cassandra since they are both coded a bit differently.

Absolutely love this mod, but do wish it had more fleshed out customization options, especially with the more unique storytellers that exist now. Like having the option to configure storytellers to appear only during certain quadrums (looking at you santa), and just to give natural forced variety by setting up your own groups of storytellers per season instead of only having the pure chaos. An being able to fully disable the chance change from events in particular I feel would help minimize the problems with the wave-based storytellers

@Deankiller Turnupseed should be compatible with all storytellers, with a minor caveat for Winston Waves, given his special mechanics. It will switch, but will have some side effects. Do you have a log of it failing to switch? I can't really help you fix it without more information

I love the mod it's one of my few always on mods. I would like it if there were a setting to simply display the current storyteller somewhere.

Some storytellers, like the one for VFE pirates, have special conditions. Is there a way to manage that in the mod, or plans to implement one?

When I use this with Vanilla Expanded Insectoids, whenever the storyteller switches, it *always* goes to Empress Evil. Help?

Howdy! I love this mod and use it a lot, but I'm curious if it'd be possible to make the new anomaly storyteller settings also randomize with storyteller swaps. I think it'd be really cool to have stretches of time where you're bombarded with anomaly content and raids, and times where you rarely see 'em.

Any way that it would be possible to set up the mod so that the other chances can be 0? best I can do is 100, 1, 1. I'd like to make the storyteller only change on the year change and no other time. Great mod though, thank you!

It changed to Cassandra, so I don't know if the bug is with a bad storyteller

It seems it is using a obsolete method?, 1.5 with Anomaly, i think it will not change storyteller

@TheGreenDigi you mean like the ones I posted after reading your comment? ( I mean this in a good way lol)

If on PC (I havent looked on mobile) goto the top of the page right under the title of the item you are looking at there are tabs such as, Description, Discussion, Comments and change notes.
Click on Discussions and then look for on the right side for an option that says "Start a new discussion" (or something like that) and click it and go from there.
Works just like it would for posting a question or whatever on any other games discussion tab

@TheGreenDigi I know it doesn't play well with Freya Fierce, it causes a weird bug where everyone gets a -45 debuff for not raiding the moment she is is activated regardless of whether you have recently raided, or even if you do raid whilst she's active. I've logged the issue with the VE team because there is a broader issue with both her and Maynard Medieval wherein if you are post-medieval research and they get selected as storytellers then research essentially ceases and the game doesn't notify you. So (to the mod author) those two storyteller could do with a toggle or warning to disable them if you're not playing on a tech restricted playthrough and or just don't want your colony imploding due to everyone going into a beserk/tantrum spiral.

I feel as though it'd be nice to have a discussion thread that lists how this mod works/interacts with certain modded storytellers. Mainly for some of the ones with unique or strange mechanics like winston waves, freya fierce, oskar obnoxious, maynard, etc.

Would be good for people to know if those storytellers work properly or not, and if people don't know, then others could contribute their findings there so other people know in the future.

How does this work with Freya Fierce's "Raid Restlessness" mechanic? How does it work with storytellers with various population preferences?

There's a simple answer for various complaints like raids: each storyteller has a cadence for spawning raids. Check your history with Cassandra, you can usually predict when your next raid will be. If the storytellers just happened to swap in these gaps, it could lead to a good chunk of time where nothing happens. Of course, that also means the opposite is true, and you could also swap into the places of increased activity.

How does this interact with storytellers that have custom UI, such as Casper Cursed or Igor Invader? Will the player choose new 'curses' each time it hotseats?

it doesnt disable raids, it makes them have a skill gap, your just bad, its a skill issue

here's an idea: make the dynamic storyteller a special storyteller, that will randomly change it. Something like "something" Chaos. That then will randomly pick a starting storyteller, and change from there!

Hi! I've had issues when the game is switching storytellers. I get up a bar where it says: Generating randomizer data. The game just freezes and/or closes down for me. Idk if there's any conflict with a specific storyteller or what. I don't know where to get a github log for this particular instance since the game always closes down when it happens

Somehow the mod we need.
can the difficulty of the storyteller be not changed too? i.e. Randy random at 500%, once the game starts its 500% all the way through.
tired of cheesing my way every tempting time by lessening difficulty levels
