These platies work well with the other platy mod; they could be used to represent the two main species you find in captivity. I keep them in a massive Aztec ruin tank with swordtails and guppies.

Hi everyone. After much consideration, I have decided to change the breeding requirement from regular plants to fluffy foliage. Hope people can enjoy the platyfish mod more now!

That could work! I'll have to try it out, I'm nearly done with breeding out all the types of these guys, I think.

Thanks, Uzag! :D

Feel free to let me know how you feel in the future, Fortuna :)
A suggestion for your displays, if I may. Perhaps you can keep one of each platy variant (tank capacity of 144 or higher) in a Belfast tank. I'm sure you'd be able to completely decorate that tank and have it filled with platyfish, too :D

Huh, I didn't think that it would work that way with the plants. That's an interesting way of handling it, but I'm still unsure since I like to over-decorate my tanks so they don't look bare, and I keep my hybrids apart from other fish in showcase tanks. I'll see how I feel after I play around some more.

Congrats on your first release!
They sure turned out amazing, they look beautiful and have that adorable platy-appeal. The texture is super-crisp and fits smoothly in with the game's graphics, the effort you put into getting all details in place really shows. I love your work with the hybrids too, the way you made the markings fade in through the scale texture is splendid ^^

Hi Fortuna, glad you're enjoying it! I put a lot of effort into making the textures for this :D

As for the breeding requirement concerns, I did consider using floating plants/fluffy foliage, but I wanted this to be different enough from the guppy and Ze Fush Company's swordtail, so I decided against it.

I intended it so that if you want them to stop breeding, you should have the same number of plants as fish who require plants (e.g. 3 platies so a plant value of 3). This will also allow you to potentially keep platies with floating plants/fluffy foliage without having them breed.

Hope you can still create exhibits that suit your liking!

Hey nyopesz, this is a completely separate mod, but it is compatible with the original platy mod!

I agree with Fortuna, it would be nice they had a different breeding requirement, e.g floating or fluffy foliage. Since I kept them with guppies which usually ate their young.

I mean for the other Platy mod !
Fortuna 25 Jul, 2020 @ 7:16am
I'm a sucker for hybrids so I grabbed this to try it out and I have to say I really like it! The models are really nice, they look more sleek and like they fit in when I compare them to the other platy mod. They're quite pretty. Haven't gotten too far with the hybrids yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how they look.

I think the only thing I would suggest about it so far is maybe a different breeding requirement, but that's mostly because I dislike it when you can't stop a fish from breeding. Since they breed in plants and they also require plants in their tank and are a shoaler, they will always attempt to breed.

I'm sorry, what do you mean by add-on?
If you mean a mod that adds the platyfish to the game, then yes :)
nyopesz 24 Jul, 2020 @ 9:18pm
Now is this an addon or not ?
