Can you please do a M60 MkII at a time you can do it? It will simply do more damage, have a bigger magazine, and a faster fire rate.

Not just yet on the prodigy part haha. I'll have to know what that is first.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:18pm
Lol, good. maybe you will be able to assist me with reflective Alpha channels.
Micktwister ☆♡°•°• 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:17pm
You've got a soon to be prodigy on your hands.
Micktwister ☆♡°•°• 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:14pm
Thanks. I appreciate it.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:13pm
I don't usually invite friends but I have sent a request in case you need assistance.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:10pm
I would add a shortcut to your addons too. It will expidite things.
Micktwister ☆♡°•°• 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:10pm
I still have yet to download everything but the Steam Tools. I made the shortcuts.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:10pm
If you want to test your mods before upload to the workshop (I would hope you would test them first), they need to go here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:08pm
Don't get wrapped around the axle on the new terms for file formats. It seems like a lot to learn but once you mod a couple items it will all be "old hat".
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:04pm
Both the workshop manager and vpk.exe are in the same folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\bin
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 4:03pm
To post your mods to the workshop, you need to create a shortcut on your desktop to one last file. l4d2_workshop_manager.exe. This will enable uploading to your content page. You'll need your new or modified .vpk and a screenshot. The screenshot is what is used for the workshop. It might take some practice to get the right approximate size to post.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:59pm
I have 8.1, you're good.
Micktwister ☆♡°•°• 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:53pm
I have Windows 8, in case it's relevant and of any concern.
Micktwister ☆♡°•°• 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:50pm
At this point, I'm still searching for the vpk. exe to create the shortcut.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:48pm
With the exception of my Extended Hordes Mod (which was modified off of blackcats Super Hordes), please feel to disect my mods and use what you need.
Micktwister ☆♡°•°• 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:42pm
By now, I'm positive I don't have nearly as much computer knowledge as you. Terms like ".vtf" and "vpk" and all that is for me, sort of like a 3rd or 4th grader trying to talk to a college senior. I can't quite keep up as good as recommended.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:40pm
GIMP 2 is what I used to freestyle my avatar for Steam. It takes some getting used to but has a lot of power to it.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:37pm
That file has all the textures and scripts that I've found.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:37pm
The file you want to open with GCFScape is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\pak01_dir.vpk
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:34pm
VTF plugin for GIMP is here:

http://code.google.com/p/gimp-vtf/
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:33pm
Yes, they are free license and I have yet to run into any issues with them.
Give me a minute to find the link for the VTF plugin.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:31pm
In Steam, goto Library, then tools. Scroll down to Left 4 Dead 2 Authoring Tools and install. Once the tools are installed, create a shortcut to vpk.exe on your desktop. Default path is here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\bin
Find vpk.exe and create a shortcut on your desktop.
You'll use the vpk.exe shortcut to drag your completed file containing the mod onto to create the mod vpk. Once you have the mod vpk, drop it into your addons folder in Left 4 Dead 2. I created another shortcut on my desktop for quick access. The default location is here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2.

Sure, give me a few minutes to track them down.
Micktwister ☆♡°•°• 20 Jan, 2014 @ 3:22pm
Sounds quite complicated. I'd need to learn how to use these programs as I go along, and some of these terms you're using I don't even know what they mean. Could you put links to these programs I need to get started?
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 2:02pm
Feel free to disect my mods and learn what you can from them. Don't forget to put your "addoninfo.txt" file in the top folder. Steam ID is 550 on all files. This tells the autoinjector which program to apply the mod to when people manually install them. I don't have the tools to do models so I can't build any new ones. I wouldn't know where to start for those. If I can help you in your modding, please let me know.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 2:01pm
You need the Left 4 Dead authoring tools available in Steam for free, GIMP 2 (or another advanced image editor) and the plugin for Valve Texture Format, GCFScape and VTFEdit for script modding and skins. All these programs are free. Extract the scripts or skins using GCFScape. Use VTFEdit to export items in a .jpg format and edit using GIMP 2. Once you are done editing skins, import the modified .jpg file using VTFEdit and save as a .vtf file. When you extract items from the main file, it always renames the top folder as Root. You can safely rename this to whatever. When reconstructing a mod, make sure you maintain file heirarchy.

I'm bored quite a bit as well. Maybe I could learn Left 4 Dead modding? I wouldn't know where to start.
Grizzly  [author] 20 Jan, 2014 @ 2:00am
I guess I feel inspired....wait.....no......just a gas bubble. I guess it's just boredom.
Micktwister ☆♡°•°• 19 Jan, 2014 @ 4:29pm
You have been just cranking these things out, man. Are these mods easy to make or are you just a wizard?
