@Aksorn I like to make maps and create objects specifically for those maps in order to give the maps a certain feel. Together, they tell a story. Separately they do not, which is why I am not really interested in releasing parts of the mod as standalone mods. Furthermore, I think that the quality of those separate parts is good enough for the story map, but not good enough on its own.
@sandy_beograd: interesting, show me what you've got :) (in a private message)
You really made an excellent story, scenario, map....very nice!
I have some script and map, so I want to ask you for cooperation, help; If you are interested in further making of scenarios??
Legend!
May I suggest that the vehicle parameters is set to Europe, thus British, instead of Asia?
Be safe
I, as a Dutch person, had always seen Ceylon as a "Dutch colony", which is inaccurate to say the least. Just like a British person thinking of it as purely a "British colony". Both countries can be quite chauvinist in their education about that material, although I don't know how Portugal handles that material.
The Portuguese were first, the Dutch were there the longest (by a slight margin) and the British were the only colonial power to get hold of the entire island. Strange fact is that all those powers were about 143-155 years on that island, such in succesion (albeit that the Portuguese and the Dutch had an overlap for 18 years).
Britain had its eyes on Ceylon for a long time and when the Netherlands got royally f*cked up the *rse in 1795 by the French (virtually became a puppet state) the British laid siege. In 1802 they got the Dutch possessions via treaty and started to wage war (1803) on the Kandy, who through all that time remained an independent kingdom on the island (neither Portugal or the Dutch ever gained the full island). However, it cost the British a staggering 12 years to win that war. Result however was that Britain ruled over the entire island from 1815 until 1948.
great idea this map. well done!
