@Cursed Rena Are you still having problems? I can re-up it if you like.
Cursed Rena 20 Apr, 2019 @ 7:26pm
actually something seems bugged with steam or something. it's trying to download it but can't make any progress.
Cursed Rena 20 Apr, 2019 @ 7:58am
Steam isn't downloading the mod for so It might be nice to re-up the non-steam download. I can thankfully just rip it from my other computer where it did download but it is sadly a common issue with this game.

@[TFT] Gasai Yuno (Halo) You're mad about superior Yuno? :V

In all seriousness Mirai Nikki was never really my thing. Name coincidences are fun.
StormTheSquid 16 Oct, 2015 @ 7:53am
When your XCOM civ's description said 'Yuno', well, I think you can assume what I thought you meant, and why I was disappointed.
cicero225  [author] 29 Aug, 2015 @ 3:33pm
@Mir0ki G&K and BNW together is fine. I actually just meant BNW is required (for the tourism stuff). Sorry for stupid question, but have you tried just reloading a save? (perhaps one of the autosaves just before?) Modded Civ 5 does in my experience crash on rare occasions seemingly just bcause, and I haven't seen this mod be the source of a crash before...
Mir0ki [TH] 29 Aug, 2015 @ 6:04am
I was playing with this mod and I crashed when I was on turn 456. Is it because I have G&K and BNW enabled at the same time? would be really nice if you could fix it.Nice mod by the way.
cicero225  [author] 8 Aug, 2015 @ 6:06pm
@kazt At the moment, no. I'm a little too busy. Also, I've never actually tried either of those two mods...

Future Plans by compatible with Events and Decisions and SuperPower Complete Edition?
Knight.R 18 Jul, 2015 @ 6:46pm
Weird.
I'll just uninstall and re-install everything and see what happens.
But thanks for taking the time though hope i didnt make you go through a headache.
cicero225  [author] 18 Jul, 2015 @ 3:41pm
@Knight.R I don't really know then. It's not something I've ever seen, and I've ran this Hidamari civ with Cthulhu and 10 others on a huge map with autorun by AIs, and I didn't see any name anomalies.

Maybe it's one of the other mods?
Knight.R 18 Jul, 2015 @ 9:55am
I thought it was a norm for attila to steal cities :P

(note i have no idea how the reply system works so ill just post again sorry)
Anyways to answer the question i would go with yes and no.
The thing is by the time i lay my third city i see these city names that belong to other mod civs.
And when i have my third city laid down every other civ at most have four or five cities laid down and they cant grow any faster cause i have a increase barbarian spawn mod in which they do what they always do except with greater numbers.

I dont want to say its a major cause it seems like it isnt but i just keep finding it weird that when i play as cthulhu and lay down my second city it ends up being called "local Zoo".
Usually lay my send city by the 12 turn so i know that most of the other civ have at most three or four cities.
Oh and i usually play on immortal and emperor difficulty in case your wondering.

cicero225  [author] 18 Jul, 2015 @ 2:46am
@Knight.R Are these other mod civs and/or civs that are city spamming very aggressively? When the game runs out of city names it starts to pull from other civs. Yuno herself, for example, has 10 city names, so if you build an 11th city it will be some other city name.

Also, Attila steals city names by default.
Knight.R 17 Jul, 2015 @ 7:52pm
Great mod find myself enjoying this save for a small bug (well for me at least)
Apperantly when playing against her somehow the city names tend to mix with other civs and they end up generating cities with same names. (Primaraly "Local Zoo" and "Destiny land")
Other than that everything else seems to run smoothly.
cicero225  [author] 12 Jul, 2015 @ 12:24am
This cheating can be disabled by going to Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Hidamari Civ (v 3)\Lua\YunoTrait.lua and changing the line "HidamariMonsterAI=true" to "false".

To experience the glory of being OP for oneself, one can change "HidamariMonsterHuman=false" to "true".

[the Yuno AI receives +50% to wonder production, and wonders produce +5 Culture, and +3 Science, Gold, and Happiness]"
cicero225  [author] 12 Jul, 2015 @ 12:24am
These Yuno AI-only boosts allow Yuno to be a significant threat to win cultural victory in her own right, though not all the time. From limited AI vs AI testing, Yuno will now wonder spam about 3/4 of the time. About 1/4 of the time she gets blocked in wonder-spamming, and about 1/2 of the time she gets a significant head of steam with wonders, becoming a real cultural superpower that is, however, usually limited to only 3 or 4 cities and prone to being overrun by nearby aggressive AIs. This fulfills my goals of making Yuno a threat to win Cultural Victory some of the time, but not all of the time. When she does win, she wins in a pedestrian ~360 turns (on Emperor), acceptable for an AI.
cicero225  [author] 12 Jul, 2015 @ 12:23am
Update!

Warning: breaks savegames

Significantly changes the internal workings of Yuno (now that I have more modfu). The wonder trait should now work much more smoothly and even properly displays bonus science and happienss in the tech tree and game menus (though not bonus culture, which is added to global culture and doesn't contribute to hotel, etc. tourism). Of note is that the wonder happiness is local happiness rather than the former global happiness.

Gives the Yuno AI significant AI-only boosts to Wonder Production and Wonder yields. The justification here is that the Yuno AI usually plays poorly and is never a threat to win, but the only civ AIs that are a real threat to win are the science turtles (the old G&K Korea) and the aggressive city-spammers (Alexander, etc.). Neither of those are very Yuno.
cicero225  [author] 7 Sep, 2014 @ 3:18pm
Under the hood changes that improve turn speed when Yuno mod is loaded but the civ is not in the game.

Ashe_Black 2 Sep, 2014 @ 10:07am
More tourism! Nice.
cicero225  [author] 31 Aug, 2014 @ 4:31pm
So this update changes the internals of how Yuno works, and removes the annoying dll dependency. As a consequence, her wonder bonus culture doesn't get noticed by hotels, airports, etc. To make up for the loss of tourism, the art high school now gives +4 tourism.

This version is 100% guaranteed to break save games, so don't update if you want to finish an old game.
cicero225  [author] 4 Jul, 2014 @ 5:24pm
Also: Unfortunately this set of changes does break old save games with Yuno, so don't update if you want to finish an old game.
cicero225  [author] 4 Jul, 2014 @ 5:23pm
@Subdued War: The latest update includes a change to the code to the great work organization menu. Try it and see if it resolves the mod conflict:

Changes to Yuno's trait:
Yuno now always starts near Marble.
Tile cost reduction is now 15% instead of 25%.

Changes to Yuno's bias:
Bias changed back from River/Hills to Ocean/Hills.

Yuno's AI Flavors slightly adjusted:
Now favors science and growth more, gold less. Is slightly more willing to declare war.

Cultural Overview has been updated to use: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=523258

Among other things, it should be more compatible.

Note: I have allowed the free Hidamari-sou if you take legalism after already building a monument to stand. It's minor, difficult to fix, and slightly interesting.
Gyre 9 Jun, 2014 @ 2:19am
Looks like both of the problems were caused by mod conflicts. I shoulda just tried it with only this mod earlier. Sorry to be so troublesome, this is a really nice mod.
cicero225  [author] 7 Jun, 2014 @ 4:41pm
@Subdued War It's tough to say. This mod does actually replace the code that governs the culture/tourism menu. Is the entire thing broken, or just something with the great works?

Dunno what's going on with the cargo ships. What other mods do you have installed? Can you try a game with just this mod?
Gyre 6 Jun, 2014 @ 7:21pm
I redled it and started a game or two, but now I noticed I can't build cargo ships or organize great works! Has anyone else had these issues? It's possible it's from a mod conflict, of course.
cicero225  [author] 2 Jun, 2014 @ 12:54am
@Subdued War :Try redownloading the mod. The most likely explanation is somehow you missed that particular image file, or it is corrupted.

If you're willing to dig a little, you can look in C:\Users\[Your User name]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Art and see if you have HidamariSou45.dds, HidamariSou64.dds, HidamariSou128.dds, and HidamariSou256.dds. If you're missing any of those images, that would be your issue.

It's also possible one of the images is corrupted. Though could be fixed by redownload. You can use the non-steam download above if you're having problems with steam.

(There's more exotic possibilities, i.e. hard drive bad sector, etc. but let's rule out the obvious ones first)
Gyre 1 Jun, 2014 @ 11:55pm
I'm getting "unable to load texture Hidamarisou.dds" when I load the leader list and selecting the civ blanks the menus out (though I can get back to them with esc). Any idea why this might be the case?
cicero225  [author] 29 May, 2014 @ 7:55pm
@Ashe_Black No, no it isn't. I'll ahve to check that.
Ashe_Black 28 May, 2014 @ 9:19pm
Uhh... Legalism gave me Hidamari-sou instead of the amphitheatre. Is this intended? Quite op since if I timed this properly I could have gotten an instant +12 culture boost.
Furubayashi 5 May, 2014 @ 6:43pm
Love your works....make more please :)
cicero225  [author] 1 May, 2014 @ 8:46am
After some thought and testing, Yuno's wonders now give +1 sci, in addition to the oher benefits. This puts her more on par with the more OP standard civs, which I always intended.
gold 28 Mar, 2014 @ 7:12pm
Looks like a lot of work went into this. Thanks.
Ashe_Black 14 Mar, 2014 @ 8:43pm
@cicero225

Ah, I never thought about the art high schools that way. Though a weakness is that it doesn't give any theming bonuses. I haven't tried it in higher difficulties, but in my prince playthrough I rushed to radio and had museums without too much difficulty, I used spies against Korea to catch up in tech.

I was also able to achieve a cultural victory before hotels and airports. So I actually can't say much about the bonus.

The +1 science early game could potentially be overpowered, but definitely not as broken as Railgun Civ. You could have the Hidamari Civ gain +1 science for each wonder after researching Mathematics in the Classical Era and then +2 with architecture.
cicero225  [author] 14 Mar, 2014 @ 1:12am
@Ashe_Black
The +1 culture per wonder definitely shows up as tourism later after hotels/airports, and lets you policy faster (though the Hidamari-sou is much more important for that), but it is a little hard to notice. I'm considering replacing +1 gold per wonder with +1 science (+2 with architecture), because that would be much more directly useful and help counter her biggest weakness, which is getting buried by someone as Korea. The reason I didn't before was balance concers. Do you think it would be overpowered?
cicero225  [author] 14 Mar, 2014 @ 1:11am
@Ashe_Black I have thought about this before, yes. The Art High School is intended to allow you to skip museums for a while to go scientific theory->electricity->radio for that early ideology/eiffel tower/broadway. In practice, slots are rarely a problem for me since I tend to have sistine chapel etc. for art slots, but hypothetically if you miss on the good art wonders it could be very useful.

But it does feel much less impactful than the Hidamari-sou. I really like the Hidamari-sou. The Art High School doesn't feel that exciting.
Ashe_Black 13 Mar, 2014 @ 8:32pm
So I decided to give this a try. I rarely do cultural games but this one was pretty fun.

(Playthrough on Prince since I am a noob)

Thoughts: This was pretty challenging to play against a science/wonder heavy civ like Korea, actually, I think korea would be a perfect counter to Hidamari. The reduced tile cost is very nice, and I would have loved to have abused it further with Angkor Wat but Korea beat me to it, and there was no way I could have save-scumed to get it in time. The biggest thing with cultural is it's weakness in science. I was in a constant battle with Korea to build wonders. What made things even more annoying was that Korea decided to go cultural as well. The one problem I have with the UA is that the +1 to happiness, gold, and culture don't seem to benefit me to any significant degree. I'd rather it give me a +1 tourism or +2 science bonus per wonder after archaeology is discovered or something.
Ashe_Black 13 Mar, 2014 @ 8:32pm
The Hidamari-sou is a great building. Very powerful early game. I quite like it. Not much else to say.

The art highschool however seems quite pointless in comparison. By the time you get to the point where you can build them you should have enough slots in museums or opera houses. I never once used it, there was no benefit. Even a simple +1 culture if slot is filled would suffice. Something other than a bland building re-skinning.

The music was really good. Hummed to every minute of it.

Overall, pretty good balanced civ. 8/10.

I never was able to find any of the unique art though...
cicero225  [author] 6 Mar, 2014 @ 10:37pm
cicero225  [author] 15 Feb, 2014 @ 4:31am
So I gave the Hidamari Wonders unique AI flavors to reflect their greater gold, culture, and happienss generation (something which should have been there to start with). It makes Yuno build wonders more heavily, which makes her play better anyway.

Also added 5 Hidamari themed Great Works of Art. Collect them all!
cicero225  [author] 28 Jan, 2014 @ 10:19am
@world class hobo
Well, I guess we'll find out now then.

This update focuses primarily on various adjustments to the experience of playing against Yuno, so you should experience a big difference in the diplomacy text you get when talking to her. The AI should play moderately better, as well.

The big gameplay change is that Hidamari-sou is moved from Theology to Drama and Poetry. This is to prevent a tradition-focused Yuno AI from beelining Theology really hard and then building Hagia Sophia etc. way too early. The AI does better with this...but it makes playing as Yuno probably more OP.
world class hobo 28 Jan, 2014 @ 10:08am
Oh yeah lol I suppose I should mention that. I looked at the happiness I was getting and it's hard to tell because in my capital I've got more population than wonders and happiness buildings, but whenever I finish a wonder it doesn't seem to bump it up. I'll see what happens after the update, because global is the way it should work, and that will make it easier to track how much happiness I get from the wonders.
cicero225  [author] 28 Jan, 2014 @ 9:47am
@world class hobo
Hmm, you have an epic number of mods installed. I'm going to have a hard time loading this.

I think instead I'll just push the update out, and see if that fixes your problem. You were using the most recent version of this mod, right? I was able to load a savefile from before my last update and play a few turns, so it should be fine as long as it's not a file from way back when. I marked the mod a while back as "does not affect saved games", but anything before that probably gets borked.
world class hobo 28 Jan, 2014 @ 12:05am
Yeah, I just noticed the soundtrack changing back. I tried loading from just before I changed ages and it might be tied to age change. Here is my save:

@world class hobo
Whoops, first I had to reply to you with a tag. There's an update incoming that addes/fixes a lot of her diplomatic tag, as well as the local/global happiness thing, but I'm waiting for Thursday to update.
cicero225  [author] 28 Jan, 2014 @ 12:00am
Oh, I just meant using dropbox or mediafire or whatever sharing service you prefer. I think there *is* a way to share save files with steam but....I've never figured it out.

Also, if you play for a long time in one sitting, the soundtrack might eventually switch to normal...and then later it might switch back. I've never been clear on why it does this.
world class hobo 27 Jan, 2014 @ 11:56pm
How do I post a save?
Artificial Inseminator Andy 26 Jan, 2014 @ 7:44am
the most moe of all civs. good work
cicero225  [author] 25 Jan, 2014 @ 9:58pm
@world class hobo I seem to have used local happiness instead of global happiness. Which means the total happiness you get can't exceed the population of the city. That is a mistake, and I'll correct it in the next bundle of updates.

Just to make sure that's the issue, can you compare the number of wonders+colloseums etc. to the size of the city? Or just post a save file; that works too.
