If you'd rather not, then I won't do it, don't worry. Thx for taking the time to answer, at least. Have a good week. :)

I'd rather you didn't, but you're welcome to do whatever you want. If you do, make sure to also credit David Vacek, who actually made the model, I just rigged it.

Hello Iska. I'm Hinin, member of the Vox Populi community. I've been the voice of Alaric for its integration as the Goths leader for pineappledan's custom civ. Having just found out about this 3d model, that is truly excellent (even more so when you know how difficult it is to modify 3d models in Civ V), I would like to ask : could it be possible to use this 3d model (without changing anything) for a Vox Populi Japanese custom civ ? I would of course give you all the credit you deserve.

Whatever your answer, thank you for your great work, and take care. :)

Not sure. Think it should be okay.

Can this be used without the Empire Ascendant mod or will it break?

@anothernick that's a really interesting idea actually... I'll look into it when I'm back home. I actually had / intend to eventually re-upload a mod that removed workers and made improvements appear as citizens worked tiles, with roads being created by caravans, which added a lot of depth to the planning of Trade Routes. I think it would be very beneficial to find a way to let cargo ships form city connections, as you suggest, over water / without the need for roads or harbor. Anyways, I'll look into it when I get home.

This is in reference to a previous comment responding to Pierre.

Instead of an option to purchase harbors, perhaps there would be a way to make trade routes form city connections? I have no idea how difficult that would be, so purchasing harbors may be a more realistic option.

sounds good thanks for the feedback
Iska and Ismet  [author] 31 Aug, 2020 @ 1:17pm
@Pierre The Ashigaru will be in the next update :)

You can't force Colonies to build Harbors, you have to wait for them to decide to do it. It's a bit of a drag, I may add an additional option to allow you to spend gold to buy Harbors. Alternatively, you can play without Colonies, it's an advanced Game Option.

oh i wanted to ask how do i connect colonies settled on an island if i can't make them build a harbor as i can't control their production ?

i'm surprised the update didn't corrupt my save but now i can builde the Shiro but for the Ashigaru i couldn't if it worked or not as i'm very far in the game i'm happy to see you have the time to listen to feedback

Thank you for telling me and no worries AOE 3 is an awesome game and also an inspiration for making custom civs if you are planning to make another civ that would be awesome to make other clans like the Otomo they would have the armor plating samurai gunner that would replace the musketman and have the black ship as a unique naval unit for example
Iska and Ismet  [author] 31 Aug, 2020 @ 10:45am
@Pierre I've uploaded v2. I think the next version will allow Daimyo to train both Samurai and Ashigaru in Cities they're stationed in. I too considered Ashigaru as a UU, but my inspiration was actually from Age of Empires III :)

thank you for your answer and the hard work you put on it

Thanks for the report Pierre! This was my first mod with a custom unique improvement, I took a look and it looks like I bungled a line in <Improvement_ValidTerrains>. I found the bug, fixed it, and will upload the fixed version later today.

if i may say for Tokugawa, instead of the Daimyo as a unique unit it would have been probably better to replace it as the long yari Ashigaru that would replace the pikeman it would be cheaper to build and have a bonus against cavalry in reference to Shogun Total War anyway i highly appreciate your work on this overhaul and wish you the best i wondered if this overhaul could be compatible with Ethnic diversity ?

I can't build the Shiro even on a Hill tile and i have the technology to build it.
NahcEVAD_cat 8 Aug, 2020 @ 6:03am
100% historically accurate. Hope other modders makes immersive civs like this.
Iska and Ismet  [author] 6 Aug, 2020 @ 9:41pm
@frankmurray2004 Thank you, I appreciate that. I don't plan on adding custom leaderheads for the Firaxis Civs that overlap. (Mostly because Stones to Stars is already 99.99mb, and the Steam Workshop doesn't allow >100 mb uploads.) If you don't want to play with them, you can delete them individually or all together from the Stones to Stars mod folder.

Welp, thanks TopHat. I copied the credits/design from an older version. Pre-change, the improvement was named Wajo, but reading about it, it seems Wajo were specific to the invasion of Korea, and Shiro is a more general term for a Hill Fort. Will update the description now. I know the in-game text is fine.
TopHatPaladin 6 Aug, 2020 @ 2:30pm
the word wajo is used twice in the steam description— once in the design ("any enemy unit which ends its turn next to the Wajo takes 10 damage") and once in the credits ("Sukritact: Wajo Model & Textures")
Iska and Ismet  [author] 6 Aug, 2020 @ 2:24pm
Steal.
verb; take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it.

The Daimyo Icon is credited in the description, and is used within terms of fair use. I haven't stolen anything, and this sycophantic vendetta against me is getting tiring.

I'm not sure why the name I've given my leader is confusing. If you don't like aspect of the text or design, that's certain an opinion you can have, and I'm happy to get feedback, but at least be polite about it. The UI in this improvement is a Shiro, and the word Wajo isn't used anywhere.

Similarly, if you don't like my 3d Leader design, again, you can fuck off unless you can do better. What a rude thing to say.
Orang 6 Aug, 2020 @ 2:19pm
- stolen art
- just naming the leader Tokugawa is confusing as hell
- the Daimyo is a bad unique with no point of existing in this design, besides: duuuh Samurai
- Shiro or Wajo?
- btw the 3D LS doesnt even look good, if its the armor of Ieyasu, its not
Iska and Ismet  [author] 6 Aug, 2020 @ 2:11pm
That's a hurtful thing to say Lime. I haven't stolen anything. That's a strong word that is entirely incorrect and invalidates all the hard work I put into this. If you don't want to play with this mod, don't. If you don''t like the name I chose, fuck off. I certainly don't go posting on your mod pages about how stupid you are, mostly because it's not polite, but also because I'm not a child.
