the mod would have worked significantly better if it wasnt for the notoriety changes, and it somehow completly killing momentum by virtue of you not acutally being able to do anything about it


coupled with the fact that cases can now just pop up literally 2 seconds after the first one... nah bruh

the changes to books are fun, the fact that you arent allowed to play the game isnt

When I started as a police detective, I found that after recruiting the first hostile element, the only new hostile elements were troublemakers, and acquaintances could not appear as hostile elements, what was going on?

Thank you for still updating this mod even in 2024. I used to enjoy it a lot back in the day, but had to unsub due to some annoying bugs and I felt it made the game too easy. Maybe some or all of that is fixed now. Thx again!

Mmm, I'm not sure if this is a fault from my end but I can't seem to pack/make a collection of books?

I had a Rose of Waznei (this one gave me the [read] copy), a Rose of Hypatia, a Rose of Nuriel
I read one of em, and it gave me the [read] copy directly, but the other two is just consumed without giving me the [read] copy?

Those new slots are not the requirements. The real requirement to read books in the mod is to match or surpass [Lore] Mystery with cards having the required [Lore] aspects. Since you have no 'raw' lore cards at the start, you need to use memory, influences and/or ability cards to get the required lore aspect.

Update: I have tested it with this mod exclusively (besides GHIRBI), and the results are the same even on a new save. I cannot study books. I have a screencap of this if need be.

Hello, I am uncertain if this is an error caused by this mod or my time away from CS, however removing various other mods has had no effect on this issue, prompting me here.

Primarily, with this mod enabled I am unable to 'study' correctly whilst the 'Pretty Young Thing'. Attempting to study a book asks me for several things, such as lore and other requirements, of which nothing satisfies it. When last I played, I was capable of simply reading a book for tidbits of lore.
Submitted accordingly are my list of mods - are any of these incompatible with your mod?

I can't seem to use the "shaper" aspect of this mod with prisoners. The only cards usable when talking to a prisoner is the old three: dread, fascination, and restlessness

Wish this mod was somewhat compatible with the Season of Acquaintances. The use of Scholarship as Language storage is fantastic, but unfortunately the Rival mechanics conflict and force them to only kill Hunters ad nauseum.

Maybe it would be a good idea to break this mod into parts, so that it is easier to isolate the bugs and people can choose which of the very diverse effects of the mod they want and which ones they don't. Of course that would probably require quite some work. :/

From the recent comments it seems like there are a number of annoying bugs that have crept up.Is this mod still being updated? It would be a damn shame, if a mod as rich and popular as this might have to be turned off in many cases to enjoy a bug free game. :/

Language cards cannot be learned, and notoriety proc on every mystique.

Going to disable and see if it fixes.

One issue I find is that learning a language through a tutor seemed to not be considered. It puts in a language aspect with an unknown image and also spawns that aspect as a card. Otherwise, the extensions are great and work real well together.

Also, with how much chances there is to create new notoriety, I feel that it also makes the game easier - if it grabs cold trail, missing case or converts clues into notoriety, it will end investigation right there. And as such, grabbing a whole lot of reputation on the board is very effective at deflecting a hunter since he is more likely to grab stuff that will end the investigation than to advance it. I would suggest a random chance that upon creating notoriety it comes right into evidence grab recipe.

From looking at the recipes Mystique generates 1 clue, cold trail 2, and missing case 3, with chances that both cold trail and case generating notoriety outright. The issue I have with the mod is that the initial reputation grab cares more about converting notoriety to evidence than to upgrade existing one and makes the game way too easy. Considering that evidence grab is triggered by lack of new reputation, and producing new evidence is at the end of that grab, the grab to create evidence in initial reputation grab is redundant.

You could try, yeah. Only cold trails are supposed to accumulate. Mystique should only keep the investigation going for longer but nothing else.

That's really strange. For me it always generates notoriety if a hunter pulls just a mystique card. Something isn't working right. Maybe it'll help if I reinstall the game and the mod?

That might be why some of you are having those issues. I have no idea what the beta changes but I recommend trying the mod in the normal game.

I'll ask in the discord to see if there's documentation about the beta. Maybe I could make a version for it.

Notoriety from Mystique sounds like a bug. Are you using other mods with this one? This mod might not be compatible with other mods and cause these types of bugs. I got a new computer so I'll reinstall the game and mod and do some tests.

The Issue with "Skill: Silent Intensity" is something I haven't tested so I will look into it and see how to fix it.

I cannot seem to acquire "Skill: a Silent Intensity" nor "Skill: a Rarefied Mind" with this mod... When upgrading the card to lvl 4 it asks for 4 erudition: a lesson learnt and a lore card as per normal, but then you don't get the upgraded card. Is this a bug?

Even after grabbing just 3 Mystique cards, the Hunter still produced Notoriety, but in your description it says they need 10 Rep and, as far as I know, Mystique only has 1 Rep each.

Love that you put so much stuff in the mod. Thanks for this mod. However, I find it a bit odd that with the rework to how investigations work now, you can be a perfectly innocent and harmless painter who has never done anything wrong and the Suppression Bureau will still be able to create evidence against you out of nothing but mystique. In real life that would be just flat out false accusations, right? Is that intended?

Hunters should be able to hunt players and rivals again. I found a number of issues that were being caused by the mod being outdated but there might still be issues. Let me know if there are new issues.

ohh I see why the hunters are being so slow. The latest game updates are making some stuff work differently. There's instances hunters stop grabbing cards and fail investigations. Next update will come with a fix for this.

Alright, I've reverted some of the hunters changes I did. There's chances for them to jump to higher reputation cards again.
I think I'll revert some of the cards you get from actions you do too. I also decreased these in the past so I'll take a look at the list.

I haven't come across any issues that would crash the game yet. Maybe it's a compatibility with another mod. This mod have high chances to be imcompatible with other mods.

Alright, I'm done with my other mods so it's time for this one now. So...

-There has been at least one game update so the mod needs to be checked for compatibility issues.
-There's a meddler scheme that is causing the game to crash.
-The rival/hunter interactions makes the game way to easy.

Yeah, I've been told the game got updated twice so I need to look into that. I've got other mods to update first but I'll upload a compatibility patch for this one eventually

Enjoying the mod, but it has currently caused a crash loop.
A meddler is busy conducting a scheme, and a hook event that would normally magnet pull said meddler instead takes my temptation: enlightenment. As soon as the circle finishes loading on the event, the game crashes.

This mod adds a few new fun inteactions, but the rival/investigation balance is way off... Unless you go out of your way to attack detectives it's nearly impossible for them to get evidence against you. They should be more of a threat IMO, otherwise you have no real incentive to go after them... The added step for them to gather evidence against you makes them too little of a threat.
I've left notoriet on the board a couple of times and after a few tries the basic dude can't even produce evidence,
