would be better if amplified damage since vanilla enchantments make zero magicka cost.

Don't appear to craft in the forge.

open the console and type in "help J3X". Does anything come up?
Thelordalien1 18 Dec, 2018 @ 11:44am

Do you have SKSE?

>> SKSE is required. Get it at http://skse.silverlock.org/
awallis 16 Dec, 2016 @ 12:07pm
no spells work
Seras Ming 8 Nov, 2016 @ 11:00pm
nice
Ombudsman  [author] 10 Aug, 2016 @ 3:08pm
Sounds like either a problem with your computer or that the spell mods work in some strange ways.
P3rdit1ous 10 Aug, 2016 @ 1:53pm
No it doesn't delay vanilla spells and only delays modded ones in certain situations, usually when there is a lot of pathing being done, Sorry I don't think it's a problem with your mod, more likely my pc!
Ombudsman  [author] 10 Aug, 2016 @ 4:32am
Concentration spells not working is expected.

Is there a slight delay with the vanilla spells also?
P3rdit1ous 9 Aug, 2016 @ 3:04pm
I'm using the elemental destruction magic mod, it adds wind, earth and water magic to the game. The concentration spells don't work but the fireball equivalents do however with a small delay between casting and the actual attack. Is there a way to fix this? it has gotten me killed too many times, lol!
Ombudsman  [author] 9 Aug, 2016 @ 3:42am
Yes, you get XP and level up from spells casted via staves.
P3rdit1ous 8 Aug, 2016 @ 3:24pm
Does the game consider consider the spells being staff cast or spell cast? Can you still level up the magic trees using these staves?
Ombudsman  [author] 30 Sep, 2015 @ 2:58am
With some adaptions to the scripts, yes.
I am however no longer modding Skyrim so I will not add new features.
Venser's Prodigy 29 Sep, 2015 @ 12:13pm
This looks like a very interesting and well-made mod. I will be sure to use it as soon as I can play Skyrim again, which should hopefully be this week. I do however have a question: Would it be possible to make this staff enchantment a weapon enchantment? Morrowind had cast on hit enchantments, so you could probably use those formulas as a baseline for balancing.

Hope you enjoy it!
The Eightbit Bard 6 Sep, 2015 @ 12:51am
Great mod , ive been looking for somthing like this and im really glad i came across it
butthoneybaby 19 Apr, 2015 @ 4:05pm
Great thanks.
Ombudsman  [author] 19 Apr, 2015 @ 12:08pm
Yes, unless they are modded in some really weird way.
butthoneybaby 19 Apr, 2015 @ 11:18am
Modded spells work, right?
Ombudsman  [author] 19 Apr, 2015 @ 11:13am
It might be possible if one could find the right animation events for them.
butthoneybaby 19 Apr, 2015 @ 10:47am
Is it impossible to make it so comcentration spells work? (i.e Sparks, Flames, etc.). I can understand Master spells but concentration would be cool. If not that's alright, I am just happy mods like this are out there.
Lord Deitz of Goteimshire 19 Jan, 2015 @ 8:46am
still love the mod
Lord Deitz of Goteimshire 19 Jan, 2015 @ 8:46am
well thank you for the compliment, and tks for answering the question so fast
Ombudsman  [author] 19 Jan, 2015 @ 4:17am
Because the spell is casted via the cast-function, not via the staff. You are quite sharp eyed if you notice the difference.
Lord Deitz of Goteimshire 18 Jan, 2015 @ 9:01pm
a little problem iv noticed. it seems that when i cast a spell with the staff, it comes out of the center of my charecter as opposed to the staff. any idea why?
Ombudsman  [author] 13 Sep, 2014 @ 5:18am
That should be all spells not on the "do not work" list.
Sqweloookle 13 Sep, 2014 @ 4:29am
Would be nice if you J3X could put a list of compatible spells for the mod.
Ombudsman  [author] 19 Jul, 2014 @ 2:07am
Flames and spark are concentration spells - you need to hold down the mouse button to cast them.
Try firebolt.
bludeyz 19 Jul, 2014 @ 2:03am
I can't bind any spells. It keeps saying concentration or dual casting spells can't be bound. Trying to bind flames or sparks won't work and I'm running skse.
Lord Deitz of Goteimshire 10 Jul, 2014 @ 11:08pm
9 out of ten. would be a perfect score except the staff desings are a bit... lacking. if we could have the option to use some of the vinilla staffs id be a happy camper. personally i switched the mesh for the expert mage staf with the vanilla destruction staff in game. suits my personal tastes more. besides that though, a perfect mod. finally gives me a reson to use staffs in game.
Lord Deitz of Goteimshire 8 Jul, 2014 @ 12:10pm
Finally a way to make staffs useful. ima try this and if it works, 100% approval.

A guide for getting the launcher to start SKSE can be found here .
(In Skyrim's Steam hub.)
I did not make it. Both text and video present.
If the folder mentioned in the guide is not there, create it.

they made a workshop for it, and afterall they atleast communicate with bethesda, which is why they updated skyrim few times for steam. :P So it would be nice if they udpate the game with something that community made for it. Afterall, Skyrim is still more popular than new fail of a game ESO is.
Ombudsman  [author] 18 Jun, 2014 @ 9:34am
Note that Valve did not create Skyrim.
Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer 18 Jun, 2014 @ 9:31am
I just said that it would be nice if valve cared to add an significant update for skyrim to easize everyones life. :| I guess, they are not so community friendly like Team17 developers, who add new updates that community made for their games.
Ombudsman  [author] 18 Jun, 2014 @ 9:29am
If you think that is worse than not being able to use a bunch of awesome mods, sure - go ahead.
Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer 18 Jun, 2014 @ 9:28am
put another non-steam game launch button, without even workshop button and probably without even icon of it, just would feels so horrible.
Ombudsman  [author] 18 Jun, 2014 @ 9:27am
Or you could just do as everyone else, installing it.
Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer 18 Jun, 2014 @ 9:25am
Damn, they should be, as there half of people upload the mods that work on SKSE only...
Ombudsman  [author] 18 Jun, 2014 @ 9:12am
If you need mods that uses SKSE you need SKSE.
Because the creators of SKSE is not affiliated with Valve nor Bethesda in any way.
Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer 18 Jun, 2014 @ 8:53am
so if I want to launch skyrim with mods, I will need to laucnh skse?? :( Why valve just can't update a damn skyrim with it?? as you said, it will not change anything, only expands it's abilities....
Ombudsman  [author] 18 Jun, 2014 @ 8:36am
No, technically impossible. You need to extract files into a folder, if that is to hard to do get a technical able person to help you.
Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer 18 Jun, 2014 @ 8:07am
oh dude it looks horrible! Is it possible to have SKSE, but WITHOUT two god damn Skyrim launchers at the same time?
Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer 18 Jun, 2014 @ 5:01am
??? Still confused, do I need to replace some files?? There yahoo answers are vague, please tell me how you done it yourself.
Ombudsman  [author] 17 Jun, 2014 @ 1:32pm
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=how%20to%20install%20skse

No, it is not harmfull in any way. Do some reading on it.
Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer 17 Jun, 2014 @ 12:28pm
I hate youtube guide. :( I don't speak english verbally. So can you tell me what I need to do to get that thing. One more question, once I get it, will something get worse or changed or even ruined??? I don't want to get what I'm not exactly what will happened after I get it. :P
Ombudsman  [author] 17 Jun, 2014 @ 12:19pm
It requires write access to your Skyrim folder, you should have that automatically.
Go to the link in the description, use youtube to find tutorials if you are bad at tech.
Pr.Jitterskull - best bug fixer 17 Jun, 2014 @ 11:43am
Where I can get it and how do I install it... I hope it doesn't request administration privileges??? That is the main question.
Ombudsman  [author] 17 Jun, 2014 @ 11:07am
SKSE extends the papyrus scripting language with new functions. This enables modders to create even more awesome mods.
You should get it because this and many other mods does not work without it.
