Hi, how do you add captions when the ship is detected, with the new update you can no longer see it, you see a blue halo, can you tell me how to modify the file inside the folder?

If you created the mod to remove can you tell me how to add captions? I thank you.

Remove Ship Icon mod... it says for v128 and 129... are you still recommending it for this (131) version?

This mod only edit the data of 2 lines of /MAP in Settings section.

I just check it and those 2 lines is the same with the current data. So this mod should works with all update unless the game change those 2 lines to something else.

So if this mod doesn't works, then it's a problem with Unity modding (Model, UI, etc.), and I doubt the author will fixing it due to Unity modding is more complex than xlsx modding.

NOT compatible with the current version. Reads "outdated" in Mods menu. I did run it in spite of the warnings, just to see if the grid lines had been re-implemented, and unfortunately, they haven't.

This Mod is a great addition, but what I would like the most is for the crew to say in which bearing the localized contacts are (like SlLENT HUNTER) and no "effect" appears on the map. Do you think that will be possible one day?

Updated to B128H4. Also removes descriptions that appear when zoom is maxed out (thanks for the suggestion, @salamander).

why is there no bearing if there is a contact? I really miss that, if someone has a contact he should tell me loosely where and what direction to watch. But I guess that is not fixable by this mod....

Hallo, I have found how to get rid of the problem with descriptions still appearing at max zoom.
Have changed the Group Markers Min Elevation in the datasheet from 900001 to 2000000.

On the other note the problem with too noisy sonar appears to be ingame bug when changing into sonar from map view.

Hallo Ancient Dresden, thank you for this, the mod works well also on B128. I have noticed that when I zoom out the map to the maximum, the sonar contact group identification will still appear in the sonar circles, was this intended?
Would be great if it would be possible to not show the ship model at all, even when zoomed in to the maximum. Just some suggestion :)

Overall I think the main problem with the game is how much data the sonar gathers in very short time, basically everything that is in sonar range has it bearing and range instantly revealed on the map. I have tried to use the sonar manually on B128 and for contacts at 5km+ it is sometimes even hard to tell if there is any contact at all. Huge contrast to the in game sonar operator performance :)

Ancient Dresden, I have an idea to make this mod even better. Can you remove the "weather icon" from the map view? I remember in Silent Hunter I would shadow a convoy for hours using the hydrophones, then when I came to periscope depth the weather was so bad I couldn't see them. It added an element of complexity not knowing the outside weather without being at periscope depth.

I thought that perhaps mods were doing it too, but I deicided to deselect all mods (aside from the two) and then start another game and still same problem. Can't figure this out.

@Stop Bald - I wasn't able to re-create that issue. I loaded a saved game and started a new game using only those two mods, and the ships showed up gray both times. Perhaps you have other mods enabled that are conflicting?

I'm using this mod as well as "remolve ship icon color" and all the ships show up as "green" or allies on the map after installing these mods.

I thought maybe a new game would help, aso I started a new campaign and still same issue.

Yes but the transition is very unpleasant. Then better see everything. It would be important to me that the ships cannot be seen outside the visual radius. If this is not feasible it is a pity but I would use a pure sonar version immediately. This variant however I do not like.

Thanks for the recommend of Remove Ship Icon Color! also as you developed this mod you likely know the answer to this question, would the opposite effect this the Caption Box's be possible for debug and modding purposes? say show all of the contacts in an unrealistic way within 1,000-5,000 nmi so that a mod developer could quickly see how the convoys and such are performing this would really help in development of mods like Uboat Expanded and probably Living Uboat.

Can you make another version where only the sonar information is inside without hiding the map on the map. I welcome the fact that ships can't be seen via spy satelite but you can't see the coast and harbour anymore.
