Likely never, I've kinda retired from doing Source maps.
You can copy the map over to gmod with no issues.

It's meant to be this dark, use lights to brighten the map where you want it.
The train track version is a separate map called sfm_longtrack.
Refer to picture 4 and 5 on this page.
It's in the description.
Right click at your viewpoint, select Draw Game Entities > Other Entities to make the road appear.

There is a lot of skyboxes with mountains and stuff in them, or are you refering to 3D skyboxes? I could make a second version of this map with said 3D skybox.
Use sv_skyname to change the skybox, no need to decompile the map.
