Hey Jackal, how's it going?
Jackal326  [author] 15 Dec, 2021 @ 7:07am
@Klayn: Feel free to use this mod as a dependency for your faction/units/whatever. I don't plan on changing class-names in the update but may very well be adding more variants of existing weapons (possibly).

@All: The update is still a work in progress. I've had a few set backs in my personal life that have affected my time and motivation to work on the update, but it is still being worked on and has not been abandoned. I don't have a time-frame for when it will be released, all I can say is it will be "sometime soon™"
Klayn 14 Dec, 2021 @ 6:44pm
Hello, i see you give full permission for your mod to be used in missions, campaigns and showcases, does that also extend to faction mods? I have something in mind and your mod would be very useful for me as a dependency.
KJW 8 Apr, 2021 @ 2:38am
ACE3 jamming, I guess it must be using default settings or something is really high
Jackal326  [author] 7 Apr, 2021 @ 2:05pm
By default ArmA 3 weapons don't jam. Must be a conflict with other mods. I'll see what I can do but I make no promises as I can't and won't take into account every other mod out there...
KJW 5 Apr, 2021 @ 12:05pm
Any chance of getting a hotfix for the L119A2 jamming so much? Haven't noticed it up till now, it jams so freaking often when using it suppressed
Bayani 5 Apr, 2021 @ 4:08am
Looking forward to the L119A2 variants!
KJW 24 Mar, 2021 @ 7:55am
Mega, cheers, looking forwards to them as well as finally having a correct optic position 😂
Jackal326  [author] 21 Mar, 2021 @ 10:46am
@Will.KMJ: Rumours of my death have once again been exaggerated. I hope to include a few more L119A2 variants in the next update
KJW 20 Mar, 2021 @ 12:14pm
Yeah, that's fair man, I've been using the L119A2 for a while and would be nice to see the minor issues with it fixed to be honest, but it's a solid piece of work
KJW 20 Mar, 2021 @ 12:13pm
omg he's still alive
Jackal326  [author] 20 Mar, 2021 @ 6:24am
@Will.KMJ: Work has been slowed by real-life commitments and my damned obsession with bolt-action animations for the WIP sniper-rifle pack but yes, work is still continuing and an update is planned. ETA: TBA
KJW 17 Mar, 2021 @ 2:34pm
This mod still getting updated?
JustRyan 17 Nov, 2020 @ 1:56am
I havent checked the other rifles but with the L119A1 the sights are a bit misaligned when a scope is attached
perkanSAJ 12 Nov, 2020 @ 2:53am
My flashlight dosent show with the laser just the laser and somthing that looks like a grip under the barrel
KJW 22 Oct, 2020 @ 7:45am
Only just remembered to look at the pistol grip - it's perfectly fine. There's a small vertical notch missing beneath the hole towards the front of the handguard, but that's literally a tiny detail. Can't find anything else to fault which you haven't addressed yet mate, top class 👍
KJW 13 Oct, 2020 @ 1:28pm
That's mint mate, have you considered taking a look at the pistol grip? IIRC it's wrong but I haven't looked at it in a while
Jackal326  [author] 13 Oct, 2020 @ 9:09am
@PurpurPolarBear/Anyone who is interested: The L119A2 is progressing well - I've re-positioned the optic proxy further towards the business end of the rifle and have also completely re-mapped the textures on the foregrip as I wasn't happy with how they looked. Having gained some nice reference images of the charging-handle latch I plan to rework that to be more in line with the correct one. The flash-hider has also been changed to the correct one.
KJW 12 Oct, 2020 @ 2:03pm
Wonderful, cheers mate - other than the few things I've mentioned in the past it's very good - still the best L119A2 out there too
Jackal326  [author] 12 Oct, 2020 @ 1:05pm
@PurpurPolarBear: Once I get the base model at a point where I'm satisfied (will most likely be done for the next update) I'll look at including more variety (different grips etc.)
KJW 12 Oct, 2020 @ 9:18am
Ah, that's fair enough mate, didn't realise that was the reason it's not compatible with most mods. What about stubby grips etc or at least a version without the AFG?
Jackal326  [author] 11 Oct, 2020 @ 2:03pm
@PurpurPolarBear: The RHS foregrips/muzzle-breaks/flash-hiders etc use a different attachment system (or rather differently named "sockets" essentially) to default settings. I think the foregrips aren't actually attachments and are just separate models changed via scripts/eventhanlders. Without making RHS another requirement (and potentially losing ASDG/JR compatibility which of the two I would rather have), I doubt this will be added.
KJW 10 Oct, 2020 @ 4:42pm
Absolutely mint, any chance of having a version without the AFG so we can use the RHS grips with it?
Jackal326  [author] 10 Oct, 2020 @ 2:37pm
Sorry I haven't replied much lately. I've been hard at work on the SMG and Sniper/Marksman Rifle packs (more details on those to follow on the BI Forum Thread [forums.bohemia.net]).

I've realised I need to still give the Rifle pack some love so I'm not steering myself away from the SMGs etc and more back toward the rifles. As such the L119A2 will be getting the attention it deserves in the next few days/weeks (re: the charging handle latch, incorrect flash hider as well as the optic proxy position). Might have chance to add a few additions to the next update, I'll see how they fit into my work-schedule.

KJW 5 Sep, 2020 @ 4:32am
Just realised as well, unsure if you're aware, charging handle latch on the L119A2 is incorrect
Tigerlover 2 Sep, 2020 @ 11:49am
SJB weapons in OFP was best in this old game. There look great as well.
jamesb2120 30 Aug, 2020 @ 3:39am
really good, only thing i can see wrong is the barrel profile of the L119A1 SFW, the barrel should thicken towards the muzzle
KJW 27 Aug, 2020 @ 7:12am
Use https://thereptilehouseblog.com/ for absolutely mint reference photos 🤙
Jackal326  [author] 27 Aug, 2020 @ 6:36am
@Don Woonchinster: I'll consider the C8 variant.

@PurpurPolarBear: The A2 model is still very much WIP. I've been in contact with someone who has provided me with some nice reference images and model parts to cannibalise and use in further developing the A2. Stay tuned...

@Fire Lord Iroh: I could....but I probably wont...
Moldyvan 25 Aug, 2020 @ 11:02pm
Could separate the flash hiders i.e. RHS and put them in the suppressor slot to make it a modular system
gman 24 Aug, 2020 @ 2:57pm
omg more m4 variants yas just what i need
KJW 24 Aug, 2020 @ 4:31am
Another thin to add to the nitpick, as the A2 has an IUR, there should be no rail blob, should be a continuous top rail. Optics are also slightly too far back imo
Don Woonchinster 23 Aug, 2020 @ 5:51pm
A stupid nitpick. To my knowledge, a FA556-212 has never been seen on the A2's, only the A1's. As such, the flash hider is technically incorrect, as it needs to be the 216a and not the 215
Don Woonchinster 23 Aug, 2020 @ 5:41pm
I'm one of the few people in the US that seriously collect Diemaco/CC rifles, so its awesome to see both the L119's and C7/C8 well done in Arma. You should consider doing the C8 SFW with an 11.6" barrel and Ops 15th suppressor
Epsilon 23 Aug, 2020 @ 11:49am
NICE NICE NICE NICE NICE NICE NICE NICE NICE
kwsiww 22 Aug, 2020 @ 6:43am
very good m4 variation

That's cool Jackal. It was good to hear back from you. I hope it all works out well.
Jackal326  [author] 21 Aug, 2020 @ 1:57pm
@All: I'm looking at working on animations to better reflect the correct use of a vertical fore-grip - stay tuned:

@Fire Lord Iroh: I'll look into adjusting the OD shade more into line with other in-game assets.

@Komrade Doggo: Probably not. My reasons for keeping everything compartmentalised with everything separate from one another is to enable people to be able to only use the weapons they want without having to download a HUGE >2GB pack (if not bigger by the time I'm done) for just a few ARs or handguns etc - I made that mistake back in the OFP days. Plus, I'm new to STEAM Workshop releases and I understand they have some sort of size limitations on PBOs or content in general so a separate release structure works out better for me...

@True Kult: More AK variants are 'planned', as well as some other non-Western weapons in other packs too. Stay tuned...

A.P Kult 21 Aug, 2020 @ 1:49pm
Hey that's pretty good. I appreciate that you kept vanilla sounds, so it works with sound mods. I especially like the the C7 and C8, great job!

If I may ask, are you going to do more AK variants or is it more of a AR stuff mod?
Kat 21 Aug, 2020 @ 1:07pm
this mod look good will you make a all i one pack like ni arms
Deathstruck 21 Aug, 2020 @ 7:56am
Loved your weapon packs back in the OFP days.

So glad to see you back for ArmA3 now. Good stuff!
Moldyvan 20 Aug, 2020 @ 5:10pm
Dude, these are fucking excellent. Is there a chance that the C7A2 and C8 could have their green handguards slightly desaturated as to match with the Green of the C7A1 and C79 optic from the GlobMob DLC? Right now they look a bit too monster-energy green, and not forest-camo green
KJW 20 Aug, 2020 @ 1:41pm
remember lads the most important thing about arma is looking cool
CivicOwner2008 20 Aug, 2020 @ 12:06pm
yea i agree with what felix said. those anims obv wouldnt improve performance in game but would add to the tacticool factor
morons always 20 Aug, 2020 @ 5:08am
It's really high quality looking stuff. Well done.

About the vertical foregrip animations.

Every shooter is different, but here is a picture that shows the proper hand placement for a vertical foregrip. https://i.imgur.com/yPe9VdN.png

This is not exactly a C-Clamp style grip as many people know it, but it is very similar, and it is the way they were designed to be used. In my amateur opinion, it is the most ambiguous and universal type of grip that works for the greatest number of shooters. And, due to the way Arma does your "idle" animations (when your gun is not raised), it should look alright.

If you do decide to try and change it, I hope the reference image helps. Good luck in any case. :duke:
KJW 18 Aug, 2020 @ 12:17pm
Will also add that on the L119A2 the optic position feels a bit too far back - look at aimpoints etc on it. Would recommend putting it forwards an inch or so
KJW 18 Aug, 2020 @ 11:19am
+1 to Nomad's request - modern guns need modern grips ;)
Dud 18 Aug, 2020 @ 10:07am
Holy Moly, SJB Weapons, great to see you back.
