@vvhalefccd, there's also a mechanic perk that let's you upgrade teir 1 and 2 subs as if they were teir 3.

@vvhalefccd, Thanks! You can make those changes easy in the editor. I believe you have to save it as a separate sub save then you should see it in shops as a buy able teir 2. Im pretty sure it wont change the Warthog you are currently using. To keep the same sub you have in the same campaign save and make it teir 2 you have to use a save editor/decompressor. I think there are also mods that will make all sub teirs buyable at any station in any biome and those mods can be added mid campaign.

I haven't got to making a proper teir 2 yet. I initially wanted all my subs to be able to finish the game and the Warthog used to be teir 3 aswell then I changed it. Maybe I should make the Warthog teir 3 for now till I get a proper teir 2 made.

This submarine is perfect for public servers. I'm currently in the 2nd biome but there are depths that this submarine can't get through because its Tier 1. I'm wondering if I can change it to Tier 2 in the editor which will allow me to get into Tier 3 so I can buy the Venator and Vengeance. On second thoughtm I'll maybe make the Venator Tier 2...

These vessels are really well designed for roleplay. Why no Tier 2?

@TheGodofCruelty, it was designed that way as an old school antigrief measure from before "Lock Default Wiring" was a server option.

To fix on your end you will have to open the sub in the editor, click the reactor and in the window that pops up make sure that enable rewiring or lock wiring is checked or unchecked accordingly.

Question about the Reactor, I've been trying to upgrade that with an automatic reactor control script using MicroLua everything works but I can't wire it to the Reactor at all, is there any way to do that? I already disabled the "Lock Default Wiring" Option in the server settings as well as enabling the "Allow Rewiring" option, still can't change anything.

@justdosomething, its based on whatever the current power load is plus 20% so if the load is 100 and the reactor is putting out 120 power or more it will grid stress the junction boxes but 119 is ok. The low voltage is minus 20% so if the Load is 100, under voltage will be 80 and below.

Hey man I've recently tried to make my own customized submarine, would you be willing to try it out and perhaps some feedback. Also guidance on how to make the landing gear on the bottom to be retractable. The Baro-discord is full of snobby people that belittle beginner sub builder.

@oblivi0ngate, I'm glad you like it!

I have mixed feelings about the rear coilguns on one hand I want to make it to where both can shoot independently like one would expect but on the other the button adds balance while keeping some flexibility. Seems better than just deleting one of the guns or creating a intentional blind spot for "balance"

I'll take a look at the navmesh and see if I can make an improvement for the bot around that hatch and update it.

I shall give my testament to this underrated yet fantastic submarine. I always love a small or medium crew sub that can fill any purpose with 3-6 crews maximum and most importantly bot friendly. I manage to down an End Worm using this sub (only Bots under my command), how satisfying it was when the monster went straight to the front charging at full speed, and I ordered my lieutenant to give them hell, that rotating barrel sounds like victory.

Weaknesses: Have to choose using the switch button whether the bot covers the bottom left or upper left part.

Notes: Positioning is the key for this sub and that makes the gameplay far more interesting instead of just having 360 degrees of protection and invulnerability.

Technical issues: Very rarely incident, my mechanic bot got stuck in the upper hatch to the third level (reactor and medical room), usually I just close and open the hatch then she will return to normal.

I need to stretch the deck out to add a 2nd feeder and periscope to make it work right in a future update. Originally it only had 1 turret on back but people complained for turrets so deck wasn't designed for 2 turrets originally. Making it unswapple is just a stop gap fix for now to prevent anything from glitching out.

You can go to the editor and check swappable and save as your own edit and they will be changeable but it might cause the feeder to glitch if they are 2 different types from each other because both of those guns use the same feeder. I recommend changing those 2 to the same like both Gatlin or both beam.

yea everything seems fine for the things i mentioned, just found something however

when i tried upgrading the coilguns it would only let me upgrade the one in slot 1, none of the others show up. i wanted to try messing around and replace these with modded ones but i can only do that with the top right one at the moment

@ExtraRaven, The coil gun has a button next to it with white arrows to switch between the top and bottom gun. They're both controlled by the same periscope but only one at a time so you must use the button to switch between the two. The ballast has to points it can be turned off. There is a switch in the bridge that will have a yellow that will be on when ballast is switched on. There is also the ballast its self click it and you will see its own button. The latter part is on every ballast in any sub in the game. Hope that helps.

hi, me and a friend were using this sub and found some issues, bear in mind i'm pretty sure this is on a quite outdated version

one was the coilguns didn't have power when the capacitor did, though after updating and checking the wiring looks completely fine and the coilguns seem fine too

another was that the ballast pump seemed to stop working after it getting breached by some crawlers. i'm not sure why this happened, it just stopped responding to everything and didn't turn on, the light would flash when we pressed the power button but instantly turn off. Checked the wiring on the most recent version and it looks good, i thought it could be maybe the relay component was destroyed? don't even know if that's possible though.

hope these are all due to the older version and you're aware of these, cause we loooove this sub.

On the Warthog X the coilguns are wired into the wrong capacitor port, and locked of course so you cant fix it ingame. They are wired into charge_out instead of power_out

I did fix it and privately upload it to workshop so my friends could download it, that was the only complaint I had about the ship otherwise however, I think it's a great ship, good amount of supplies, large enough with all the roles having their respectable rooms without it being so large it's impossible to fix with the supplies given. Great work otherwise!

@baglboy, i looked into it. Its the wiring from the capacitor to the Coil Guns the guns are connected to charge out but should be on power out. Issue is that I drive 18 wheelers for work so can't update for a few days until I get home. Sorry. Once I get home I will correct this. This can be easily fixed in the editor. If you want to correct and fix for private use feel free.

Yeah the coilguns have no power, i investigated every button on the ship, turned up the capacitors, and none of them have power we looked for almost an hour and couldnt find any way to power the coil guns

@Farbott, the cannon can be fired from the periscope on the far right in the bottom gunnery room. There are other ways as well be sure to read the descriptions on the buttons by hovering your cursor over them.

ok maybe you can help me as you built a uber gun yourself, im trying to link 5 pulse laser together (with hopes of having them on delays to have a constant fire mode) while the position in and loader link works fine, when i press fire only one laser fires the other 4 charge but do not fire, instead they start making the error noise(the beep things make in game when it can not do what you ask)

@sumodo, it can be fired from the navigation terminal or the periscope in bridge or the one from gunnery. You have to hit a button next to the periscope to switch control between the two. Hover your cursor over the buttons to see descriptions of what they do. One of them is a gun lock. Some mods may possibly break the button description mechanic.

I think I might have found a problem with the armaments. I noticed that none of the guns were getting charge from the supercapacitors so I hopped into the editor to take a look. I noticed that all the wires that provide power to the guns from the supercapacitors are all on the CHARGE_OUT signal instead of the POWER_OUT signal. Might be worth taking a look? Great design nonetheless.

@dr.romani.achiman, Loaders are in the bottom deck towards the bottom right. There is also a gun lock but its all unlocked on a fresh start. Try running without mods and hover your cursor over the buttons in the bridge to see the pop ups. The pop ups will tell you what they do and you should be able to figure it out. Some mods will break the pop ups. There is also a button in the navigation terminal on the window you see when steering the sub.

@A Spoon, I would gut some of the fire rate logic for the cannon and hard lock it to like 2000 rpm. What would melt your cpu is 2 warthogs shooting at 4000 rpm also I'm not sure if pirate AI would actually use the rotary cannon you'd have to test that. Also the tail guns that switch between top and bottom I would pick one of the 2 and simplify that. AI won't use the button to switch guns they too dumb. Besides that stuff it should be fine.

That's fine if you want to make a private version for you and your friends. I've been considering a redesign to the entire shape to something smaller and quicker while still keeping the rotary cannon. That being said. Being named Warthog I'm gonna keep the Gatlin Cannon theme on the front so that will probably stay unswappable. Maybe I'll make a Laser variant with the new shape. Gonna be a while off with that new version. Currently working on a new big sub that is comparable to the Vengeance.
