I have the same problem as Galaxian, the "In my sights" ability only ever marks the first position.

Does it contain the red (veteran) and blue (champion) color variants of the Brigands? I know it's a minor thing but I love to have a blue color Butcher on my units.

@GhostSeeker hi, i absolutely love using this class, but is "in my sights" supposed to mark both targets? it only ever marks the first, never the target in rank 2 for me.

Definitely an improvement. I still don't see much point in In My Sights having a chance to fail, Cripple ever being usable from rank 3, and Regroup not providing the damage bonus at all levels, but the biggest balance issue has been addressed.

Marauder still provides too many supply items for time cost 2, however. As I mentioned, the loot drops are fine, but for my personal use I dropped his food find down to 4, his torch find down to 3, and his bandages find down to 2.

@Captain Trek I'm currently thinking about some balance changes, in which some of your suggestions definitely will be used. There will be a Regroup nerf, probably more.

I also don't see much reason to expand Cripple's reach at high levels, since it's part of the Inspiring Command build while Blade Toss is part of the Impaling Strike build. In My Sights, on the other hand, could quite happily be from pos. 1 and 2 at all levels, and Regroup could provide the damage buff to Imapling Strike at all levels. It generally isn't necessary to fundamentally change the way skills work as they level up like this. It was already a bad idea when the Shieldbreaker's Impale did it.

As for In My Sights, marking ranks 1 and 2 really isn't that OP when he has no way to mark ranks 3 and 4 where the stress nukers are, and it would make his Inspiring Command build more tempting over his Impaling Strike build.

Having now played with him at champion level, I would also suggest making In My Sights 100% effective at all levels and making it so Regroup is never a free action. Impaling Strike is very strong, having similar damage and being able to hit rank 3 compared to Collect Bounty, but this is compensated at lower levels by the fact that you have to build your party around the fact that he's going to dance himself while nuking those marks while most other mark synergies don't dance (or just accept the fact that you'll only get two hits before Butcher's action economy starts to suffer). At high levels, though, he can just spam it every round and it becomes absurd. Especially as he's ramping his speed (can get up to 30 or more!) and dodge at the same time. It also makes Inspiring Command and Impaling Strike too easy to use together, whereas I kinda feel, being as strong as they are, they should each feel like the principle ability of two distinct builds.

Oh, also. I was a fan of his 5 prot. Its not in the base game, but some classes feel like they should have a bit of natural prot. LIke the crusader having -10/-15% Hp but +10 prot. Or something. Having lower Hp to balance this is very interesting.

Other information, like his Crit bonus would be appreciated. Is this class supposed to be just damage? Or mostly damage with a bit of tankyness? There is a lot of things to ask lol. Can always talk on discord or something for a more in depth conversation if your willing. I love the classes theme and want it to be good, have a defined and effective roll without going overboard.

Also, having decent blight resist makes sense, since he is a highway man and likely deals with blight in his day to day life.

Just to clarify. I am not an expert in Darkest Dungeon, not even close. I just prefer balanced classes, and I noticed the stats were...high. I did some comparison and found his stats to be fairly high in a lot of categories, and pointed it out. And decided to give some suggestions to keep his flavor and strengths without gutting him to hard. I am working with limited info. I would love for all of his stats and stat growths to be on a doccument or something for easy reading :)

The class feels like it wants to be a bruiser. Able to take some damage, and deal some back out, with good mark synergy. Some of the camping skills seem strong, but I'll have to look into that more.

I am not a fan of his Honor Guard tassle. The only ranged attack he seems to have is Blade toss, hardly a loss, and the buffs are amazing. Recommend a tweak.

@Captain Trek Hi, i'm glad you're enjoying the class and thanks a lot for feedback. I'm planning to play with his new resists and stats to see how it affected him, so another hotfix is possibility. About resists: i wanted to make his resists more or less similar to Brigand Raider's, so his biggest resist is Stun, which makes sense to me, considering that all stun skills in game are either head strikes, blinds or mind daze. Bleed and blight resist are second after stun, but not above average. Move resist isn't a big issue for him, debuff is quite low since he is a common cutthroat and can't resist magic or something like it.

I will say, however, that his "Marauder" camp skill WAS providing too many supply items for time cost 2 given Antiquarian's time cost 1 only gives 2 food or a single torch, so in my own files I nerfed the amount of food he can get from Marauder to 4, torches to 3, and bandages to 2. The loot finds were fine, however.

Hiya. I enjoy running this class a lot (especially with Butcher Bird, funnily enough) and whilst I'm fine with most of the changes, I feel I should point out that Tsuu was exaggerating a LITTLE bit in some areas. With 8 speed at champion, all "fast" classes (PD, Abom, Jester, SB, and Flag at 9 and GR at 10) are already faster than him, and his damage progression was already inferior to Crusader/Hellion (as it should be given that he's a mark synergy. The change you made was quite fair in any case). I also feel like his higher than average bleed resist made sense given that he's very familiar with the art of bloodletting and his padded overalls seem like they'd provide some protection against stabs. I wouldn't object to his base blight going back down to 25 and base bleed coming up to 35 or 40 (if the latter, he'd have exactly 220 total resistances, which is the same as a Highwayman).

@Tsuu Nerfed him a bit like you suggested, also uploaded resolve level 0 Butcher image. Stun resist is still high, but thats his feature, more or less, it's not that huge like it used to be though. All other resist were balanced to match other heroes' values, same with stats like DMG etc.

Part 2 of 2.

This class seems to have the best or near best stats for everything.

I would tone down the stats a bit to be more balanced compared to the default Hero's.

Crit down to 5%, dodge down to 8, damage down to 6-12 or 6-11, speed down to 5.

As for resistances, he's just too powerful overall. Drop 20 off of trap resist, and 15 off of stun resist. Then, drop 5 off of every other stat (besides death resist and disease.) After that, you end up with 265 resistances. That's equal to the Flagellant, which is the highest I believe.

This is all just a suggestion of course. If your dead set on keeping him like this, I would love it if you could add an optional balanced version.

The picture you showed for stats has a quirk (I factored that in) A stat lv correct lv 1 and max lv version would be better. or a stat sheet.

Part 1 of 2.

I looked at this class a bit more closely, and It seems unbalanced by looking at its stats. An average character has around 210-230 total resistances (not including deathblow). Some have more, like 240 or 260. The butcher has 320. If we throw out trap resistance, it drops a bit, seemingly only being beaten by the Flagellant by 5 points, but its still higher than other classes by a fair margin. (Also the Flagellant has very low damage, compared to The butcher being great),.

Not to mention the butcher has natural prot, and higher crit than the Graverobber, a class used to crit a lot for darkest runs, and higher dodge than the highwayman and graverobber, flat damage better than the hellion, the highest speed in the game, the highest trap resistance in the game, etc.

Hey, I think there is a problem with the Butchers Trinkets. I did missions where I should have acquired both Raid Plan, and Honor Guards Tassle, but when I tried equipping him with them I couldn't find either of them in my trinket inventory.

@GhostSeeker У меня всё стакается, по крайне мере до 40-ка доджа точно. И судя по всему для всех способностей доступна сразу максимальная версия. Поэтому характеристики не меняются при прокачке в гильдии

@Comitoten Хм, странно, возможность ходить после отхода на 4 и 5 уровне появляется. Баффа кстати хватает только на один удар, так что стакнуть не получится. Проверю на всякий случай завтра, мало ли, все таки баг о котором никто не сообщил.

@GhostSeeker Возможно конфликт, хотя у меня только моды на новых врагов, пару новых героев Кипер и Кратос, мод на новые тринкеты и скины. Вот ещё что хотел спросить. У меня Бутчер на нулевом уровне может Отходом назад бафнуться получив 12доджа +6спида и 15урона для выпада, потом сразу же в этом ходу сделать выпад нанеся в общем итоге 90 урона по марке ( как баунтихантер ) и остаться с бафами ( вроде на 2 хода или четыре? ) Это так и задумано или снова какой-то баг?
