This might be based on some US schools, I am unsure. Even if it was based on a real-life counterpart I think they were modified and scaled down to fit the aesthetic, gameplay and limitation of technology aspect.

Do you know if this SimCity 2000 building was based on a real-life building? I understand that many of the SimCity 3000 buildings were apparently based on real-life buildings [community.simtropolis.com]. Unsure if that was also the case for SimCity 2000.

I like the radius; if I ever go back for a classic American style, it's getting loaded.

Really nice building. Could also imagine modifying it to be a small hospital (if I ever try to learn Asset Editor).
