I assume you would have played some of his maps and commented on them and then told him of your inspiration and invite him to play your maps. He is always very relyable and pleasant to play one of yours when you play one of his. He does not view this as bugging - he's very helpful and gives great feedback. That has always been my experience with him and he has helped me many times.
