This canopy dates from 1890 when it was built for the Tavistock North station in Devon. Although there are many grander cast ironwork canopies across the UK, I think the decorative work on this one is particularly charming and perfectly suits a rural station.

In 1987 it was removed and given to the nearby Launceston Steam Railway narrow gauge heritage line in Cornwall where it graces their platform.- well worth a visit if you're down our way!

The left and right end sections are labelled as if you are facing the track.
