the decision by Paradox to not allow people to access the console with ease is pure stupidity. It's so inconvenient. You can change the launch settings to allow it, but once you close it you can't open it again. And if you want to play ironman, you have to go delete it in the launch settings.

Anyway I'm using that updated mod you linked to (the compatibility version). Thanks for making this mod.

Do not be afraid of your work. This mod is a god send; since Paradox Interactive decided it would be a great idea to 'fix' a problem that was not even there. The mod works for all of the mods that I use. If anyone complain about incompatibility; ask them if they could reach to the other mod author and see if there could be a fix. If there is anything out of your control; that is fine. Not everything in life are always going to have a known parameter.

Hi, there is a conflict between this mod and Advanced Character search. If I have that mod lowest in load order, the icon does not appear for this mod. Using your alternative mod does not work either. F11 takes a screenshot as per vanilla. If I have this mod lowest in load order, than the icon for Adv Char search does not appear. Can you two guys communicate and see if there is a workaround? I'm finding it hard to choose between!

@Raven_41 there is no need to use this version if you use the other one. The other one includes both a visible button and the shortcut.

@Raven_41 yes sadly, that is an issue that some people seem to have. If I had to guess it's because I have to re-purpose the screenshot hotkey for this mod, since adding hotkeys to the hotkeyfile is not working at all.

For most people it works, but for some it doesn't, that's why I made the alternative version of my mod with a visible button. You can find it in the description.

Hm. the F11 still doesn't work for me and just say that I've taken a screenshot. I've tried to resub two times and nothing worked so far

@Enad yeah, sadly. The new GUI framwork I was trying would make this mod compatible with all mods, but sadly it does not seem to work properly yet. There are too many issues with GUI initilization, so until the creator of that fixes these issues, this mod will sadly stay uncompatible to GUI mods.

But like I said, things like Abdication or so, are not affected. It's speecifically changes to hud.gui that aren't compatible.

@Enad For my mod specifically, that would include any mod that makes any changes to the hud.gui file. So basically any mod that changes the HUD layout, or adds buttons to the sidebar, or something along the line.

For example, the Way of Kings mod, that adds artifacts is not compatible with this mod, since it changes the hud.gui to have a new interface for artfacts.

The abdication mod you mentioned does not make any gui changes, it just adds an interaction. So that is compatible.

What would examples of other GUI mods be? Anything that adds new interactions within the UI like Abdication mod, or things like that?

I have reverted any changes I made to this mod. It appears the new GUI framwork I was using caused more problems than it solved.
Sadly, this means this mod is not compatible to other GUI mods anymore, but at least it works properly now, as it did before.

If it doesn't update for anyone, try re-subscribing to this mod.

@Long everything works fine on my end, even with customly created rulers.There is an alternative version of my mod available, you can find that in the description.

Right. I have the same F11 taking screenshots instead of opening debug mode problem. However, the problem ONLY applies to custom created rulers. The mod seems to work fine with the rulers that already exist in the game. So, the solution I found is to open one of those that already exist rulers before loading to my save. A little bit hassle, but it is what it is, I suppose? :v

Sofar the only way I got it to work is also have the visible button mod thats linked above. Then launching the game in -debug_mode and copy-paste effect trigger_event = {on_action = on_custom_gui_initialize} in console, it will make the button of that mod appear, but also makes the F11 functional as normal.
All through I have todo this every time I started the game back up.

I started a brand new game with the game (1.3) and the mod fully updated (I downloaded and undownloaded the mod multiple times to make sure). F11 still takes screenshots. I also tried the effect trigger_event = {on_action = on_custom_gui_initialize} and waited a few months in game. F11 still takes screenshots.

@Cy If you want to continue your old savegame, yes you have to put that launch parameter "-debug_mode" back in and enter that console command. You can keep it there though, as you can always use my mod to just enable/disable debug_mode at will. you don't *need* to remove it, but if you want, then yes.

Keep in mind, you only need to do this for every old save you want to continue. This is because of the new framework I used, that makes this mod now compatible with all mods. A small price to pay for universal compatability in my opinion.

Every new game you start should not have these issues.

Edit from below:
Press the ` key (back quote, or tilde, sometimes under your ESC key) and it will open the console from the game while running in debug mode. Then copy and paste the "effect trigger_event = {on_action = on_custom_gui_initialize}" console command mentioned in the instructions into the box and then close the console. Then after one day has elapsed in the game the new version works perfectly. No screenshot error.

I am also having the screenshot trigger on F11, (which I have keyed to a mouse button). Is there another way to open the console and input your command "effect trigger_event..." for previous saves?

I'm having the screenshot problem now too. Pressing F11 doesn't open the console anymore, so I can't enter the effect trigger you have posted above. Am I supposed to put "-debug_mode" back in the command line, launch, enter that effect trigger, quit, take debug mode out of the command line, and then restart the game with the mod enabled?

Hello. I've developed a GUI Modding Framework which eliminates the need for editing vanilla files.

Seeing as this mod is the #1 cause of error reports from people who don't get that multiple mods that edit hud.gui aren't compatible, I would be much obliged if you updated your mod to use the GUI Modding Framework.
