Hi, I'm just realizing there's no "None" option for clothing. Not to be confused with being Undressed, bottom clothing would still be visible. I remember there used to be an option for having no upper clothing as seen in wrestling tourney events. Is that something that can be added back in?

Workshop is so messed up. Searched "Better Barbershop" and got clones, translations, and random mods that weren't relevant. Had to click on the spanish translation to find the source mod... Fix yo stuff valve

Its just a mod to customize and take a good look at your rule or any character, like a photoshoot :D

- visual traits
- body modification
- copy DNA
- custom text
- more details for realm, house and dynasty
- the character is centered on the screen
- switching tabs don't reset positions, closing doesn't reset zoom

im having a hard time understanding what this mod does, i see it does a lot i see that. but its just confusing i guess, wish there was a better discription. im not going out of the way to put make up on my character nor copy a DNA file. so what is the main feature?

Would be cool if there was an option to edit appearance for peace and war seperately so that you dont have to go to the character custimation everytime you are in war.

Quite impressive, though it lacks body proportion adjustments in the character customization interface – such as leg length or torso height. Additionally, when cranking up certain sliders like muscle definition or bust size, the 3D model shows no visible changes.

Yeah I've been looking into messing with default scenes for the barbershop but I've found it inpregnable. I found the gfx file where you specified, but the actual assignment for the barbershop seems more elusive :( .

I'd really thought that gfx\interface\illustrations\scripted_illustrations\ingame.txt might have some promise, but I haven't managed to make it work.

Agami, I’ll test that but it used to work with my mods in multiplayer but now it doesn’t, I’ll test if that works.

@Lost Nomad that's my bad, was trying to hide the hud icons and forgot to change the layer back. Updated.
@lavelleandrej there's nothing to update. They haven't touched the barbershop in months.
@SilverVader5 put it at the bottom of your playset if you accidentally overwrote it with something like CFP.

Don't like that you changed window_barbershop layer to top.

I use character interactions to do a few things on the characters while inside barbershop which cannot be done now because the interaction buttons are underneath the barbershop window.

So I changed the barbershop window layer back to middle but have I broken anything in doing this, I can't see what if so?

Did anyone noticed that yerterday my "Toggle Name' Option worked, but for today, it doesn't show up when I click on it? I tried to reupload my mod and reload my game save, but still doesn't work?

@Mantı yes, it works on 1.16

@RemasterChief /ttv I made it so now the saved character persists during the run. But also, you can pin any dead character, select them on the second tab and choose them for the DNA transfer.
If you want to be Augustus, go ahead, just find him in history.

@Noirbard the backgrounds are in gfx\interface\illustrations\scripted_illustrations\barbershop.txt
But I think the defaults are select by code, not accessible to us.

@MetalGearDaner did you mean to ask about Better UI Scaling? No, I don't maintain compatibility with UnUI, the mod is big enough workload already

@𝐖𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 check their descriptions, if there is a known conflict, they'll usually say so.
I don't expect that there would be, I avoid editing appearance files.
Does it matter if I load fair lords and ladies, and other courtier cosmetic mods, before or after better barbershop? Sorry I know it's probably been asked a thousand times :slimetabby:

Thanks for the great work! Is this compatible with UnifiedUI? Just run a compatibility checker and look slike UnifiedUI also changes window_knights.gui, but that mod is intended to act as a general compatch.

I myself am wondering if better barbershop handles the default backgrounds when opening the barbershop. The game tends to open into these really dark throne room settings where it's hard to get perspective on one's changes. Is there a place that I can go to overwrite these default backgrounds and substitute the outdoor ones in their place?

Editing an existing character's DNA can be pretty tricky. AFAIK the only reliable way to do that is save game editing. You would find the character in the save, and overwrite the DNA string in the save for that great grandchild.

Is there a way to save a DNA and paste it on a character for later? Like if I wanted to save my created DNA at the start of a game then use it on a great great great grandchild.

@Tora I have never seen a completely black court.
There's gfx/court_scene, where they are defined. scene_cultures is where they are assigned to cultures, but when there's an issue there, it defaults to an existing court, not blacks it out.
Choose Throne Room and CFP change the cultures, disable them if you have them.
There are also shaders in gfx/FX that affect the court. Color Picker has a few. But in my tests, everything was working.

I've been trying to figure out what mod is causing royal courts in the Muslim-dominant section of the map (like Egypt and the Fatimids) to be a black void, so I'm just touching my bases. It takes my game about 20 minutes to boot up, so checking manually has been a huge pain.

I was incorrect, it's a trait modifier now. There used to be an unused animation before.
