You would probably do better in some areas, and worse in others.
I beat the game today playing this Mod on Very Easy as Judea and posted my map and comments here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2936440039
By the term "beating the game", I meant surviving until the game's end date, which this Mod extends to 827 AUC. But there are a couple other ways in which I beat it, like getting 1st place in terms of population, and beating a bunch of missions.
Oh boy. Game players with the base game already describe Rome as like the final boss in video games. Jean wrote to me about how the base game currently works with its latest update:
{{Rome should take over Italy pretty quickly (around 30-40 years). Then, it usually extend either in Greece or Carthage for the next 50 years. It should expand then towards Egypt, Gaul, Germany and Spain. Late game, it can be strong in Anatolia and Palestine/Syria. Often, it's like Rome is doing the Mare Nostrum achievement.}}
By the late 190's BC in my Historical Imperator Pack playthrough as Judea, Rome has surpassed me in about 6 years in terms of territories and is now the #2 territory holder. In terms of gameplay, I don't know if I will or would be able to withstand Rome with the new bonuses that the Historical Imperator Pack gives it. But I can see how if I was playing as Rome, especially as a Newbie, the bonuses would be useful.
I like how the Mod gives changes to Rome to match events and features of around the start of the 1st century AD, because it was one of the more itneresting periods of Roman history and the base game ends at just 27 BC, probably to avoid dealing with historic changes that your Mod addresses.
It's 198 BC in my game, and the top powers are:
1. Maurya. 697 Territories, 9200 Pops
2. Judea (me) 605 Territories, 7241 Pops
3. Rome. 566 Territories, 6189 Pops
The rate at which Rome has grown is scary for me, but I read that Rome is normally like a boss enemy. Is this scale of Rome's power at this point normal for I:R playthroughs, or is Rome growing overly strong even for I:R?
the custom characters have really poor
loyalty because of the massive amount of traits in my Carthage run I was really struggling to keep Hannibal and Hamilcar loyal I'm not an expert on this time period but Hamilcar hated Rome with a burning passion and taught his son to one day get revenge on Rome and Hannibal basically dedicated his whole life to Carthage’s R E V E N G E so to have him constantly stuck at 25 to 45 loyalty and to lose him in a goofy 1 province revolt was kinda gay also I'm a modder myself so I know how annoying me saying this can be and more so considering you definitely put some serious time and good research into this, thanks!
Try waiting after it's downloaded onto Steam then starting the launcher and seeing if it's there. If not, try starting it again and then seeing and get back to me :)
But Sulla being alive so early makes me think the Marius event triggered early, as that's the only way to do it, which is also not possible because it's bound to the updated version in this mod that triggered the Sulla events. Also, if you're using this version of the mod with Invictus, you might want to switch to the Invictus version, as that's much more compatible
