In the mission where you're attacking the airfield, there's a boat at the very end of the mission that's nigh invincible. Until it dies by from the surrounding ships, I’m just sitting there for about 2-3 minutes as all other objectives were already done
I think the last mission is a missed opportunity for AGM-188 and for anti ship operations in general. Otherwise the mission feels like a waste, you spent the entire time doing ferry and CAS missions only to suddenly care about Air Superiority, in a craft that wasn't really all about dog fighting. And with 70 aircraft to shoot down to boot, it just feels like a real slog and a cheap way to add just one more mission. A combined arms scenario between air and ships would've been cooler.
I had the same problem with Mission 8 with the Marine team not boarding (also used Save game so there must be a bug with that). Plus the very first objective was to wait to take off, and didn't register as complete after the siren sounded so I just kept waiting on deck for the longest time. Finally decided to take off anyway and then it registered as complete.
My issue with mission 8 was apparently only due to quick save/reload/restart mission.
Doing it with freshly restarted VTOL VR and no save was flawless.
Thanks for the nice details on the scenarios !
My only advice would be faster to load maps: maybe reducing a bit the area of the huge cities ?
So I just rearmed with loads of AIRS-T + the GAU, and killed 40 enemy fighters almost on my own, ya ! Objective number completes, but still stuck at dropping 8 marines ... :(
Too bad, I really like the humour and scenarios of your missions, would to finish the campaign.
Also: the map takes along time to load, seems caused by the huge cities, so if you could reduce a bit the number of buildings it would be great.
That damn boat did not want to die, and I did some pickup not on the correct order, which meant not enough space for everyone, then droped some, but did not work and had to restart all over. Same for the mandatory carrier landing + reload, when I first did it, it did not register, had to do it again.
Maybe skip weapon reload as an objective, just hint at it and let the player do it when needed ?
For the boat, why not make it appear only later, so that it is realistically destroyable ?
I felt the radio chatter added some great ambiance to the missions and enjoyed it. The ability to use the full capabilities of the AV-42C is satisfying.
Thank you for your kind words
The radio chatter was mainly an experiment as yes should really be more balanced
Wouldn't be me tho if I didn't complain about something too tho.
- Bit overloaded with largely incomprehensible endless chatter that just drowns out radio chatter actually relevant to the game
- Mission 5 appears to have a... problem... maybe...? ... with one of the hostile boats being invincible until the very end of the mission. Not sure, might be intended...
- rather large number of spelling errors *lingual-fascist-mode*
;)
